Abstract:Phase condition and amplitude condition is usually used when estimating the oscillatory condition of the sinusoidal oscillator. The selecting frequency network usually located in the amplifying circuit, or located in the positive feedback network. We change the configuration of the RC wien bridge circuit and find out that the selecting frequency network can even locate in the negative feedback network. This provides a further understanding of oscillatory condition of the circuit.

Abstract:This paper introduces how to apply simulation EDA software Multisim10 in teaching one of the diffucult points, i.e., the sine wave RC oscillator circuit. The paper analyses the process of establishing oscillation using the nonlinear component diode and JFET as fixed amplitude device in combination with Multisim 10, it also analyses the principle of phase-shifted sine wave oscillator circuit. The introduction of simulation process motivates the enthusiasm of the students in learning, and enhances the students' understanding of the knowledge of the theory.

Abstract:According to the performance and application of RC bridge type low frequency signal oscillator,discussed the basic structure and performance of the oscillator circuit.It is improved from three aspects about the performance,such as frequency selective network,fixed amplitude and adjustable frequency,and is combined with the simulation software to verify.A successive frequency sine wave oscillator that has perfect performance and the frequency could adjust from 17Hz to 265.4KHz is obtained.

Abstract:This paper presents a bridged contactless measurement technique that can measure the resonant frequency and quality factor of a fully-integrated powered off voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). Unlike the use of the conventional two-coil inductive link, the proposed technique uses an additional inductor to bridge the coupling between the LC tank and the external inductor serving measurement purposes. This makes it possible to examine the on-chip high frequency oscillator with an off-chip inductor at Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level. As an example, a K-band VCO as well as the proposed test structure have been designed and simulated using 0.13 μm CMOS technology. The quality factor and operating frequency of the oscillator are measured using the proposed contactless technique through extraction from the frequency response of a bridged inductive link. The efficiency of the method has been validated by full wave electromagnetic simulation. As a reference, the characterization of the oscillator is also obtained using the Cadence Spectre RF and Mentor Graphic's Calibre PEX commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software. The results of these two solutions agree considerably well, which supports the feasibility and potentials of using this technique for contactless measurements.

Abstract:By analyzing of typical op-amp differentiator circuit considered the op-amp amplitude-frequency characteristic, we give out a design of sine-wave oscillator based on an improved op-amp differentiator. This oscillator is not only the output sine wave harmonic distortion very low, but also easy to design and easy to trimming to fine. Introduction At present the active RC sine-wave oscillator includes Wien’s bridge oscillator [1] and RC phase shift oscillator. The frequency selecting circuit of Wien’s bridge oscillator is two-order band-pass circuit, and its quality factor is 1/3. The frequency selecting circuit of RC advanced phase shift oscillator is three order high pass circuit. The frequency selecting circuit of RC delayed [2] phase shift oscillator is three-order low pass circuit. Their frequency characteristics are poor, so they output large harmonic component. This paper uses modified active RC differential circuit for frequency selecting circuit. By using the RC phase shift circuit, the phase condition of the oscillator is satisfied [3]. With variable gain amplifier, the amplitude condition and stability condition of the oscillator are also satisfied. The frequency of output sine-wave frequency of the circuit is close to the center frequency of the frequency selecting circuit. The quality factor of the frequency selecting circuit is usually greater than 10, so the output harmonic distortion of sine-wave is very low. The range of oscillation frequency is at least (0.0001~ 0.1) . is op-amp gain bandwidth product. The basic active RC differential circuit Figure 1 is the basic active RC differential circuit [4]. If the amplifier is the ideal op-amp, its transfer function is shown as below: ( ) H s sCR = − (1) Using EWB as simulation software, first-order op-amp model is type of LF353. With simulation of the circuit in Figure 1, we get the amplitude frequency characteristics of the transfer function, as shown in Figure 2. It is the same as the amplitude frequency characteristics of the two band pass filter. Abstract:For the current RLC series resonant circuit experiment,its content and requirements are relatively simple and limited to the reproduction of the basic principles of resonance positioning;therefore,there is a lack of a " starting point" to guide students to think deeply about the circuit.A new cycle of research and development has resulted in the building of a non-sinusoidal signal decomposition synthesis and harmonic generation experiment box.This box is designed to have a series resonant circuit for comprehensive experiment (Part Ⅰ) which is the periodic non-sinusoidal signals decomposition and synthesis,including experimental circuit structures,experimental operation of signal decomposition and synthesis,and model validation.This guides students to explore their own tasks and enhance their own supplementary experiments.Teaching practice shows that the integrated circuit can help students improve their experiments from a different perspective.Understanding the basic principles and the value of the series resonant circuit can stimulate students to hand on experience and describe the differences between the ideal circuit model and the actual circuit.This will lead students to developing an interest in learning more.

Abstract:The paper presents a high power wide band oscillator with nonmatched transmission line which is charged by low impedance forming line.The designs of low impedance forming line and nonmatched transmission line are completed accordingly and high voltage experiments are conducted on the 1 MV Marx generation.The wide band oscillator can output wide-spectrum pulse with center frequency 260 MHz,repeat rate 20 Hz when the gap of main switch is 14 mm with 1.5 MPa SF6,the gap of chopping switch is 6 mm with 1.0 MPa SF6,and the gap of peaking switch is 4 mm with 1.1 MPa SF6.The technology of non-matched transmission line charged by low impedance forming line can output high power wide band pulse and increase center fre-quency.

Abstract:A design of CMOS sine-wave oscillator with low output harmonic distortion is presented.The oscillator uses active RC differentiator as its frequency selecting loop.In practice designs,the frequency characteristic of OpAmps should be taken to account,and then the active RC differentiator could be found operating as a narrow-bandpass filter.This reduces the harmonic distortion of the output signal of the oscillator largely.This paper modifies the active RC differentiator and adds phase lag loop and voltage controlled amplifier to meet the oscillating set up condition.Using the CMOS OpAmps shown in this paper,the operation range of this oscillator could achieve 200 Hz~2 MHz.An example circuit with output frequency at 100 kHz and its simulation results by Hspice are presented.The harmonic distortion of its output is less than the pass-band noise.

Abstract:The fourth basic circuit component, the memristor, has been proposed for a long time, but it is not mentioned in the experiment teaching system of Electrical and Electronic Technology. In this paper, an RC bridge oscillation chaotic circuit based on memristor is designed to solve this problem. The dynamical behavior of the circuit system is analyzed using Lyapunov exponents spectrum, bifurcation diagram, phase portrait and Poincaré map. A series of complex dynamical behaviors such as symmetric single-scroll coexistence, asymmetrical single-scroll coexistence, symmetric double-scroll coexistence and asymmetrical limit-cycle coexistence exist in the circuit system. This research plays a critical role in enriching students' knowledge and improving the experiment teaching system of Electrical and Electronic Technology.

Abstract:The design model of a multi-channel sine waveform generator is presented based on the experiment.The generated sign frequency and the phase difference between each channel can be tuned according the practical needs,and it is useful in the application of sign measurement process.Finally,the hardware principal figure is given,the waveform error is analyzed,and the results of the experiment indicate that it is a effective method in the process of sign measurement.

Abstract:We introduce a reverse engineering approach to drive a RC circuit. This technique is implemented experimentally 1) to reach a stationary regime associated to a sinusoidal driving in very short amount of time, 2) to ensure a fast discharge of the capacitor, and 3) to guarantee a fast change of stationary regime associated to different driving frequencies. This work can be used as a simple experimental project dedicated to the computer control of a voltage source. Besides the specific example addressed here, the proposed method provides an original use of simple linear differential equation to control the dynamical quantities of a physical system, and has therefore a certain pedagogical value.

Abstract:A new passive RC analog of a coupled double tuned circuit, as is commonly used in broad-band RF amplifiers, is presented in this paper. It consists of a cascade of bandstop Wien network and a bandpass parallel-T network. A by-product of this study is that by inverting this circuit, we get a wide-band rejection circuit. By interchanging the order of the cascade, we get different frequency responses. All of these circuits are amenable for IC fabrication, and have several advantages over the existing active RC simulation circuits for the purpose.

Abstract:This paper presents a two-stage voltage-controlled ring oscillator with extra wide tuning range,high operation frequency and low phase noise,using source degenerated resists,cross coupled structure and loads controlled by mixed signals.This two-stage VCO can be applied for the continuous rate clock and data recovery circuit.The simulation results under 0.25μm TSMC N-well CMOS process show that the tuning range of the proposed VCO is as wide as 200MHz～1.85G while Kvco remains at about 300MHz/V.

Abstract:Sinusoidal oscillating circuits are the fundamental parts in the course of Analog Circuits.Almost all the textbooks analyze the oscillating circuits using the concept of feedback.Fundamental circuit analysis is applied on Wen's bridge oscillating circuit and circuit equation is deduced to analyze the circuit's oscillating characteristics and its starting condition for oscillation which concords with the textbooks.Numerical results are given through computer simulation.The analysis results are helpful for the teaching of circuit theory and analog circuits.

Abstract:In order to provide electrical engineering students with more insight into the fundamentality and the extensive application of series RLC circuits,an advanced experiment entitled " Comprehensive Experiment on Series Resonant Circuit (Part two)-Harmonic Analysis of Periodic Non-sinusoidal Voltage Signals" is developed in this paper.This experiment is based on the design of "Comprehensive Experiment on Series Resonant Circuit (Part one)-Decomposition and Synthesis of Periodic Non-sinusoidal Voltage Signals",anduses various apparatuses including signal generator,experiment box of periodic non-sinusoidal signal decomposition,synthesis and harmonic generation,as well as digital oscilloscope.Starting withpractical issues such as harmonic distortion and effects in power supply systems,the experiment introduces simulation methodologies of power system harmonics,harmonic analysis on periodic non-sinusoidal voltage signals,and an intuitive way to comprehend and simulate signal modulation and demodulation.Teaching practice indicates that the experiment helps students develop an in-depth understanding on basic principles and application value of series resonant circuits,and encourages them to engage in hands-on practices and the exploration of principles of circuits.

Abstract:This paper firstly presents a CMOS voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) which enables octa-phase triangular waveform generation. By utilizing a cascaded relaxation oscillator core followed by a pseudo injection-locked oscillator circuit, an octaphase differential VCO with triangular waveform outputs is realized. Simulation results show that the proposed fully differential multi-phase VCO can achieve broad tuning range with programmable timing capacitors, offering <1% phase mismatch.

Abstract:The series LC circuit is studied under the square wave excitation . This paper has discussed the change rule of Uc and iL under the condition of the square wave period and oscillation period which have different multiples .Firstly ,this paper uses the method for analyzing the second order circuit transient process to calculate the output under the square wave excitation .Then ,the analysis result is verified by Orcad/Pspice . By the way from the theoretical analysis to the simulation verification , it makes students have deeper understanding for the transient analysis of the second order circuit .
