What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper primarily discusses the application of immunoassay methods and bioinformatics techniques in immunology research. Specifically, this paper attempts to address the following key issues: 1. **Improving the performance of immunoassay systems**: Enhancing the sensitivity, speed, and multiplex detection capabilities of existing immunoassay technologies by introducing nanomaterials. For example, using nanostructures to modify the surface of immunosensors or as labels. 2. **Optimizing antibody immobilization methods**: Exploring different antibody immobilization techniques (such as physical adsorption, covalent binding, and oriented immobilization) to improve the sensitivity and specificity of immunoassay systems. 3. **Integrating bioinformatics methods**: Utilizing bioinformatics and computational intelligence techniques to make progress in cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment optimization. Particularly, supporting immunology research through machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies. 4. **Addressing global health challenges**: Developing rapid and accurate immunoassay methods is crucial for disease monitoring, prevention, and treatment, especially in controlling the spread of diseases such as COVID-19. 5. **Exploring novel immunoassay technologies**: For instance, evaluating the coupling efficiency of antibodies with quantum dots using surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy; employing Total Internal Reflection Ellipsometry (TIRE) combined with Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation (QCM-D) to study the interaction mechanisms between SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and specific antibodies. In summary, this paper aims to enhance our understanding of the immune system and related diseases by improving existing immunoassay technologies and integrating advanced bioinformatics tools, ultimately improving public health.
