Abstract:Cooperative learning is a kind of teaching theory and strategy system based on group. The theory of cooperative learning has been applied in college English teaching and has proved to be fruitful and beneficial. Cooperative learning as a breakthrough and complement against traditional classroom instruction is an efficient teaching approach, which can promote learners’ cognitive ability and improve their competence to use language. This paper intends to discuss the significance of cooperative learning and how to apply this approach in college English teaching to improve students’ overall language competence. Problems faced with the application of cooperative learning are also analyzed and proper solutions are suggested to tackle the problems.

Abstract:The new curriculum reform emphasizes the change of students' learning style and the reform of classroom teaching form, which requires teaching to develop towards the direction of autonomy, cooperation and inquiry, one of the important and specific goals is to change the ubiquitous passive acceptance of students' learning style, advocating students' participation in cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is a teaching activity that takes heterogeneous learning groups as the basic form system, utilizes the interaction between dynamic factors of teaching to promote students' learning, takes group achievement as the evaluation standard, and achieves teaching objectives together. Taking English classroom as an example, this paper discusses the application of cooperative learning in language learning. First, it introduces the concept and theoretical basis of cooperative learning, and its value and application in language learning. Secondly, through the analysis of cooperative learning practices in English classrooms, the main influencing factors and coping strategies of cooperative learning effectiveness are summarized. Then, effective regulation methods are proposed from the perspective of teachers and some suggestions are put forward to improve the application of cooperative learning in language learning. Finally, some suggestions on the future research of cooperative learning are put forward.

Abstract:The cooperative learning, which is also called the collaborative learning, is one of the most important learning theories nowadays, which promotes learning cooperation between teacher and students, students and students. The cooperative learning method is a kind of teaching mode which takes students as the center and takes groups as the form. It changes the teaching mode and it is conducive to cultivating students' cooperative awareness and autonomous learning ability. The article first illustrates the connotation, theoretical base, and elements of cooperative learning method, then explains the four typical problems arising in the cooperative learning, and finally puts forward seven methods to cope with the problems in order to enhance the efficiency of the cooperative learning method.

Abstract:There are four basic skills in English learning, namely, listening, speaking, reading and writing, while reading is the most fundamental and important skill. It is also the main and effective way to learn English, so improving the quality of reading teaching is the key to improve the quality of foreign language teaching. However, in traditional teacher-centered teaching method, students gain knowledge passively and cannot effectively show their personality and abilities.Cooperative learning is a new strategy in English teaching, which can make improvement by the application of interactive teaching dynamic factors, so cooperative learning is an effective way to solve the problems in education. Data analysis points out that cooperative learning strongly promotes the efficiency and has good prospects for development. The study also finds out the problems in the application of cooperative learning in English reading practice.

Abstract:Cooperative learning refers to instructional methods that teachers use to organize students into small groups, in which students work together to help one another learn academic content. Cooperative learning methods are extensively researched, and under certain well-specified conditions they are known to substantially improve student achievement in most subjects and grade levels. Yet, the structured forms of cooperative learning that have proven to be effective are not used as often as more informal forms. Abstract:Cooperative learning is a strategy that is often used in the teaching and learning process. In which the learning process is carried out in groups by students. In this case the students become more dominant than the teacher. The implementation of this strategy is also a reference to be more open between students with different genders, academic abilities, and different races. The methodology used is qualitative in writing. This paper contains learning strategies for students, especially junior high schools, where the implementation itself will provide variations for teachers in teaching and make students more creative in building their own knowledge.

Abstract:With the progression of globalization and vocational education, English teaching in higher vocational colleges faces new challenges and opportunities. Practical teaching strategies are increasingly emphasized in higher vocational English education, aiming to enhance students’ English application skills and professional qualities through real-life scenarios and task-oriented learning. This paper discusses the practical teaching strategies in higher vocational English education, from theoretical foundations and current status analysis to specific strategy design and application, systematically analyzing the concept, core elements, and effects of practical teaching. Research shows that practical teaching strategies effectively improve students’ English application abilities and learning motivation, yet challenges remain in implementation. Future efforts should focus on optimizing teaching strategies and refining assessment mechanisms to promote the sustainable development of higher vocational English education.

Abstract:Oral proficiency is the core element of training courses for English tourist guides. This ability needs to be addressed in training program for English tourist guides. Cooperative learning method is widely used by educators as a teaching method, but rarely used to improve oral proficiency. A quasi-experimental design involving 60 participants was conducted to investigate and examine the effectiveness of cooperative learning method on the oral proficiency of learners in the English tourist guide training program. There were 30 learners in the control group and the experimental group, respectively. The experimental group adopted cooperative learning method, while the control group adopted traditional approach, in both of which pre-test and post-test were conducted. The results of the study showed that the impact of teaching with the cooperative learning method on the oral proficiency of learners of the training program for English tourist guides was higher than that of teaching with the traditional approach. The importance of the cooperative learning method in the training program for English tourist guides is highlighted as a reference for educational institutions.

Abstract:Student-centered pedagogy has been widely applied in higher education and it is becoming a major trend of teaching and learning in universities. Cooperative learning is one of the practices that improve learning environments, enhance student learning and thinking, and cultivate student social skills. In this paper, we aim to discuss the advantages of using Cooperative Learning in improving learning efficacy, and evaluate its impact on student learning and classroom engagement. Our study shows that group learning practices, such as spontaneous group activity with Kahoot!(TM), group presentation, structured inter-group feedback, and hands-on group activity have all been effective methods in improving student classroom engagement, comprehension and knowledge application, as well as social skills.

Abstract:Writing is one of the five major English language skills according to the new English curriculum standards, and writing also reflects the core competence of students in English. English writing ability is a basic skill that students should master in the process of English learning. However, English writing teaching is one of the most difficult and neglected parts of teaching. The current writing teaching model is generally teacher-centered, focusing on results and neglecting process. This teaching method is often time-consuming, and has little effect. Cooperative learning is student-centered, values the learning process of students, and encourages students to help each other, discuss together, and actively participate in writing, thereby inspiring students’ interest in writing. This article analyzes the current researches on cooperative learning abroad and at home, introduces the theory of cooperative learning and its significance in writing teaching, and puts forward suggestions on how to better use cooperative learning in writing teaching.

Abstract:From the discipline teacher's angle,this paper intends to study that the use of cooperative learning(STAD) in English Classroom teaching for Junior High Schools would have changes in the application effects.Taking Grade 8 students of junior middle school as subject,by using the pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design,this paper surveys the ability of the junior high school students in English listening,speaking,reading and writing,etc.before and after the test.The experimental results show that in the experimental group that applies cooperative learning,listening,speaking,reading,writing and other aspects of performance is superior to those of the traditional study of the control group.

Abstract:As one of the basic forms of human interaction, cooperation has penetrated into every field of human life. With the continuous improvement of the level of economic development, the society has higher and higher requirements for the sense of cooperation and skills, and the social development has stronger and stronger requirements for the sense of teamwork and spirit of people. Cooperative learning can enable students to complete reading tasks more efficiently in the context of mutual help and communication, which is also in line with the cognitive law of students, and can strengthen the emotional communication and thinking collision between students and teachers. In junior middle school English reading teaching activities, the use of cooperative learning teaching method can not only improve the efficiency of English reading teaching, but also play the main role of students, cultivate students' interest in reading, and help students to participate in learning activities in a good state. Abstract:Teaching and learning have evolved over the years. While the use of lecture is still the dominant mode of teaching in educational institutions, there has been consensus that students need to be active in learning, for which traditional styles of teaching may not be well suited. This calls for an alternative instructional mode: cooperative learning to promote active learning among students. In higher education, interest in cooperative learning has gained momentum since the early 1980s, and this kind of teaching and learning can be conducted in many ways. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of existing evidence pertinent to cooperative learning. In this review, cooperative learning is defined and elements inherent in this pedagogy are discussed. Theoretical perspectives relating to cooperative learning are also outlined. The outcomes pertaining to cooperative learning are then presented, followed by the influence of context on cooperative learning. This review is organized and structured as such to serve as a basis of reference for further research in the field.
