Abstract:Aim: To integrate and summarize the best evidence on perioperative management practices for hair transplantation patients, providing an evidence-based reference for clinical. Methods: An exhaustive literature search was conducted to identify the best evidence for managing patients undergoing hair transplantation during the perioperative period. The databases searched included Up To Date, BMJ Best Practice, UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, National Guideline Clearing House, Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network, Guidelines International Network, Cochrane Library, JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports, PubMed, Web of Science, European Dermatology Forum, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, Medlive Guideline Network, and Sinomed. The search spanned publications from February 2013 to February 2024, focusing on clinical decisions, evidence summaries, guidelines, and expert consensus. Results: We finally identified 22 articles with high-quality results (consisting of 9 clinical decisions, 6 guidelines, 7 expert consensuses), providing 41 pieces of evidence across seven categories: assessment of transplantation conditions, transplant planning and preoperative preparation, anesthetic preparations, surgical methods and operation skills, postoperative wound management, medication-related guidance, optimization of nursing and treatment strategies. Special emphasis has been placed on the sections covering anesthesia preparation, surgical methods, and operational techniques, with detailed explanations provided. Conclusion: The summarized best evidence on perioperative management practices for hair transplantation patients can serve as evidence-based guidelines for clinical. It is recommended that clinical staff adopt evidence-based recommendations to improve and optimize patient outcomes and promote postoperative recovery. As these evidences came from different countries, factors such as the clinical environment should be evaluated before application. Abstract:BackgroundWe have updated the guideline for preventing and managing perioperative infection in China, given the global issues with antimicrobial resistance and the need to optimize antimicrobial usage and improve hospital infection control levels. MethodsWe conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the evidence for prevention and management of perioperative infection, based on the concepts of the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) system. The strength of recommendations was graded and voted using the Delphi method and the nominal group technique. Revisions were made to the guidelines in response to feedback from the experts. ResultsThere were 17 questions prepared, for which 37 recommendations were made. According to the GRADE system, we evaluated the body of evidence for each clinical question. Based on the meta-analysis results, recommendations were graded using the Delphi method to generate useful information. ConclusionsThis guideline provides evidence to perioperative antimicrobial prophylaxis that increased the rational use of prophylactic antimicrobial use, with substantial improvement in the risk-benefit trade-off.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate and summarize the best evidence for prevention and management of chemotherapy-induced alopecia and to provide a reference for clinical practice. MethodsIn February 2018, literatures including Evidence-based guidelines, best practices, systematic reviews, original research (including randomized controlled trials, quasi-experimental studies and cohort studies) and expert consensus were retrieved from guideline websites such as National Guideline Clearinghouse (NCC), Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), New Zealand Guidelines Group (NZGG), Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) and Medline, professional websites such as American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), European Society of Clinical Oncology (ESMO) and Clinical Oncology Society of Australian(COSA) as well as databases such as Australian JBI Evidence-based Healthcare Database, Cochrane Library, PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, CNKI and Wanfang Datebase. Two researchers evaluated the quality of various literatures, and extracted recommendations and research conclusions related to the prevention and management of chemotherapy-induced alopecia from the included literatures. ResultsTotally 13 literatures were included, including 3 evidence-based guidelines, 1 recommended practice, 3 expert consensus, 4 systematic reviews, and 2 original studies. A total of 32 evidences in 2 aspects on the prevention and management of chemotherapy-induced alopecia were summarized. ConclusionsThe evidence for scalp cooling is sufficient in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced alopecia, but higher quality evidence is still needed for preventive medication and alopecia management.

Abstract:Objective:To retrieve, evaluate and summarize the relevant evidence of perioperative nutritional management of oral cancer patients.Methods:Databases and websites retrieved by computer were BMJ Best Clinical Practice, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, Guidelines International Network, Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network, Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, Chinese Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, MedSci Network, Medlive, Cochrane Library, JBI Australian Evidence-based Health Care Center, PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, SinoMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang Database. Clinical practice guidelines, expert consensus, recommended practices, best practices, evidence summaries and systematic reviews in these databases were searched, and the search time limit was from the establishment of the databases to April 30, 2020. Standard methodological quality assessment tools and evidence grading system were used to evaluate the quality of literature, extract evidence, summarize evidence and grade evidence.Results:A total of 10 articles were included, including 5 guidelines, 1 systematic review and 4 expert consensus. This paper summarized 28 best evidences of nutritional management in patients with oral cancer during perioperative period, including nutritional risk screening and nutritional assessment, principles of nutritional support, selection of nutritional support methods, measures of nutritional support and discharge guidance.Conclusions:This study summarized the best evidences on perioperative nutritional management in patients with oral cancer, but its recommendations are widely distributed and lack specific dietary guidelines for patients with oral cancer, and some of the recommendations are still controversial. Therefore, it is suggested that clinical medical staff should combine conditions of departments and needs of patients on the basis of reference to contents of this study and build personalized nutrition management plan through multi-disciplinary cooperation to promote transformation and effective application of evidence.
Effect of evidence-based nursing interventions used in perioperative patients with percutaneous coronary intervention

Abstract:Objective To evaluate effect of evidence-based nursing ransradial coronary angiography and stent implantation with perioperative patients. Methods A total of 136 case of coronary heart disease were randomized to the intervention group and control group with 68 cases in each, the control group used traditional nursing intervention, intervention group used evidence-based nursing, compared postoperative 24, 48, 72 h comfort, complications and nursing satisfaction degrees. Results After percutaneous coronary intervention,the intervention group 24, 48, 72 h GCQ each dimension score and total score were significantly higher than control group(P < 0.05). Intervention group back pain, urinary retention, the incidence of hypotension were significantly lower than the control group(P < 0.05).Nursing satisfaction degrees of intervention group were significantly higher than the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based nursing intervention in patients with coronary heart disease effectively improve perioperative nursing skills and targeted to reduce back pain, urinary retention and hypotension, patients significantly improved comfort and nursing satisfaction, worthy of promotion.

Abstract:Purpose: To summarize and analyze available evidence on perioperative accelerated rehabilitation programs for patients diagnosed with breast cancer that have had a radical mastectomy. Design: This article is a systematic review of literature based on evidence-based methodology.Methods: The '6S' evidence resource pyramid model was used to systematically search a range of databases.Findings: A total of 19 articles were extracted from the literature and used in this study, including 9 clinical decisions, 4 systematic evaluations, 4 expert consensuses, and 2 guidelines. We summarized a total of 47 lines of evidence with regard to various aspects, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing measures.Conclusions: In this systematic review, an evidence-based methodology was used to summarize and analyze the best suggestions for perioperative accelerated rehabilitation nursing programs for breast cancer inpatients undergoing radical mastectomy. Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of evidence-based nursing related to preoperative skin preparation in patients undergoing endovascular surgery.Methods Patients undergoing endovascular surgery were divided into two groups chronologically,totally 52 patients who admitted in May 2016 were regarded as a control group,and another 36 patients who admitted in October 2016 were involved as an observation group.The control group received skin preparation of shaving hair with a razor one day before surgery and bathing before surgery,while the observation group received skin preparation guided by best evidence.Results No surgical site infection occurred in the two groups.Two cases were detected skin damage caused by skin preparation in the control group,and none occurred in the observational group.The execution rate of preoperative hair removal at 30 minutes before picking up the patients to the operating room and shearing hair in the observational group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P＜0.01 for both).Conclusion Application of the best evidence for preoperative skin preparation in the patients undergoing endovascular surgery,can improve the standardized execution rate of preoperative skin preparation,and plays a role in decreasing surgical site infection.

Abstract:Objective: To retrieve, evaluate, and summarize the best evidence for postoperative hypothermia rewarming in adults with severe burns. Methods: Foreign language databases including Cochrane Library, Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence-Based Health Care Center Database, PubMed, Ovid-Medline, BMJ Best Practice, and Web of Science were retrieved with the search terms of " severe burn/major burn/severe degree burn" , " hypothermia/warming intervention/hypothermia/temperature/body temperature change" , and " postoperative /perioperative/peri-operative/post-operative" and Chinese databases including Chinese Journal Full-Text Database, Wanfang Database, and VIP Database were retrieved with the search terms of "//" , "/" , and "" to obtain all the publicly published evidence for postoperative hypothermia rewarming in adults with severe burns from the establishment of each database to April 2018, including systematic evaluations, guidelines, expert consensus, evidence summary, and original research closely related to the evidence. The literatures were screened and evaluated for their quality, the evidences were extracted from them, evaluated, classified in order to summarize the best evidences. Results: A total of 8 literatures were included, including one systematic evaluation, three guidelines, one expert consensus, and three evidence summaries. Finally, the best evidences in 8 aspects including the body temperature monitoring site, body temperature monitoring frequency, surface heating, in vivo heating, rewarming start, multi-strategy rewarming, equipment, and personnel training were summarized. Conclusions: Based in the evidence-based nursing method, this study retrieves and evaluates the literature, summarizes the evidence analysis and evaluation, and obtains the best evidences of postoperative hypothermia rewarming in adult patients with severe burns, which provides a strong reference for the clinical implementation of rewarming.
A Scoping Review on Complications in Modern Hair Transplantation: More than Just Splitting Hairs

Abstract:Background: Hair restoration surgery (HRS) is a commonly performed elective procedure but to date lacks a review of the full scope of complications. Objectives: To provide a comprehensive overview of observed complications associated with follicular unit extraction (FUE) and follicular unit transplantation (FUT). Eligibility criteria: Randomized control trials, cohort studies, case series, and case reports published in 1985 or later on adults (age>18). Nontraumatic or autoimmune etiologies of alopecia were excluded as procedure indications. Sources of evidence: PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane databases (last search December 31, 2022). Charting methods: Data-charting and extraction were independently performed with two reviewers using Covidence. Results: Forty-three publications were included. Two large series reported the overall complication rate to be 1.2 and 4.7%. Common complications included bleeding requiring intervention (up to 8%), persistent numbness (up to 11%), infection (up to 11% with two reports of Kaposi varicelliform eruptions and one of mucormycosis), effluvium at donor and recipient sites (up to 4.1% and 6.5%, respectively). The most common donor-site complication was hypertrophic scarring/keloid formation after FUT (up to 15.1%). Complications at the recipient site, including crusting (up to 54.8%), frontal edema (up to 50%), and sterile folliculitis (up to 53.3%), tended to be poorly defined with a broad range of incidences. Conclusion: Serious complications associated with HRS are rare in the hands of experienced providers. However, comprehensive discussions of risk must be had with prospective patients as any complication in the context of an elective procedure may be significant and psychologically devastating for the individual patient. Abstract:Introduction It is necessary to explore the evidence-based practice of perioperative management of elderly patients undergoing ambulatory surgery, to optimize the clinical workflow and improve the quality of nursing care. Methods Based on the best evidence obtained from the previous study, the perioperative management model and examination index of elderly patients undergoing day surgery were established, and the evidence of best practice was obtained by using the evidence-based methodology. Then, we integrated evidence into clinical practice and improved the process. We made a comparative analysis of the effect before and after the implementation of the evidence. Results This study summarized 26 pieces of evidence of perioperative management of elderly patients undergoing day surgery and transformed the evidence into 7 items and 11 items of examination index. After the application of the best evidence, knowledge, belief, and practice of perioperative management of nurses for elderly patients in the day operation ward reached 100%, and the rate of reaching the standard of most indicators increased after the application of evidence. The length of waiting for admission and waiting for operation and returning to the ward to discharge of elderly patients decreased significantly, and the difference was statistically significant (All p < 0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based perioperative management of elderly patients undergoing day surgery improves the nursing practice of clinical nurses and shortens the waiting time and hospitalization time of elderly patients undergoing day surgery, which should be promoted in clinical nursing care.

Abstract:Objective: To summarize the best evidence for managing radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer, and improve the quality of care. Methods: According to the "6S" evidence pyramid model, we searched local and other part of world published clinical guidelines, expert consensus, evidence summary, and systematic review. The literature quality assessment followed the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE II). for guidelines, AMSTAR-2 for systematic reviews, and Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Evidence-Based Health Care Center's quality evaluation tool for expert opinions and expert consensus articles. The quality of other literature was evaluated according to the type of original literature. If there were any conflicts about the conclusions drawn from different sources of evidence, this study followed the principle of high-quality evidence priority and the latest published authoritative literature priority. The "JBI Evidence Pre-grading and Evidence Recommendation Level System 2014" was adopted for the evidence lacking a grading system. Quality evaluation, evidence extraction, and summary were performed by 2 or more researchers, combined with the advice of the head and neck cancer radiotherapy professionals. Results: Finally, a total of ten pieces of literature were included. Twenty-two best evidence items for radiotherapyinduced oral mucositis management were summarized from six aspects, including multidisciplinary management, oral assessment, basic oral care, pain management, nutritional support, and application of honey or propolis. Conclusions: This study provides clinical caregivers with the evidence-based measures on managing radiotherapyinduced oral mucositis. Clinical backgrounds, patients' condition, willingness, economy, and cost-effectiveness should be fully considered when promoting evidence transformation. Applying evidence-based approaches with high feasibility, strong appropriateness, clinical significance and high effectiveness could reduce the incidence of severe radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer. Abstract:Objective:To retrieve, evaluate and summarize the evidence of prevention of venous thromboembolism in gynecological cancer patients during perioperative period, so as to provide scientific basis for clinical practice.Methods:We systematically searched the Chinese and English databases, the guide website, and the professional association website for evidence on the prevention of venous thromboembolism in gynecological cancer patients during perioperative period, including the guideline, evidence summary, recommended practice, systematic review, and expert consensus. The retrieval time limit was from the establishment of the database to February 19, 2022. Two evidence-based trained researchers selected corresponding evaluation tools according to different types of articles to evaluate the quality of the articles, including the extraction, translation and integration of recommendations.Results:A total of 18 articles were included, including 9 guidelines, 1 evidence summary, 2 recommended practices, 5 systematic reviews, and 1 expert consensus. Finally, 20 pieces of evidence were formed from 6 aspects: risk factors, admission assessment, deep venous thrombosis screening, prevention of venous thromboembolism, duration and health education.Conclusions:This study summarizes the best evidence for prevention of venous thromboembolism in gynecological cancer patients during perioperative period, in order to reduce the incidence of venous thromboembolism in patients through early prevention, screening and identification, and provide evidence-based basis for clinical nurses.

Methods Systematic searches were conducted on data on pain management in patients after cardiac surgery of BMJ Best Practice, UpToDate, USGuidesnet, USGuidesnet International, UK National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, Ontario Medical Association of Canada, Scottish Interhospital Guidesnet, Joanna Briggs Institute（JBI） database of Evidence-Based Health care centres, Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database and China Biomedical Literature Database, including guidelines, systematic reviews, summaries of evidence, expert consensus, and related original studies. The search period was from the establishment of the database to June 2022. The quality of literature and the level of evidence were evaluated by the evaluation criteria and evidence grading system of JBI evidence-based health care center. Results A total of 11 literatures were included, including 2 guidelines, 4 expert consensus, 4 systematic reviews and 1 randomized controlled trial. Finally, 23 pieces of best evidence were summarized from four aspects: pain management principles, pain evaluation, drug analgesic strategies and non-drug analgesic strategies. Conclusion This study summarizes the best evidence for pain management in patients after cardiac surgery, and provides evidence-based evidence for pain management in these patients.

Abstract:Objective To develop and implement an evidence-based protocol for standardize the behavior of extubation after general anesthesia in post anesthetic care unit(PACU).Method Based on best evidence and scenario analysis,An evidence-based protocol of procedures and strategies was developed,and evidence was integrated into clinical practice.According to the practical application of Fudan Joanna Briggs Institute,22 nurse anesthetists was trained.By review the baseline of extubtion for 104 patients in PACU to find the gap between the clinical and evidence.Then reexamine the extubation for 102 patients after practical reformation.Result Compared with the baseline,all implementation rates of the six examination standards and the nurse anesthetists' knowledge about extubation improved was significantly (P＜0.05).The incidence of respiratory abnormal events after extubation was reduced significantly(P＜0.05).Conclusion The nursing management protocol of extubation after general anesthesia in PACU can help to standardize the nurse anesthetists' behavior of extubation,improve the quality of clinical nursing,reduce the incidence of respiratory abnormal events,and improve patient's comfort in PACU.
Summary of the Best Evidence for Preoperative Pre-Rehabilitation in Patients with Lung Cancer Complicated with COPD

Abstract:Objective: To search, evaluate and integrate the best domestic and foreign evidence on the preoperative pre-rehabilitation of lung cancer patients with COPD, and summarize the best evidence. Methods: Cochrane Library, BMJ Best Practice, JBI Center for International Cooperation in Evidence-Based Health Care Library, and Up to were searched by computer system Date, Embase, CINAHL, PubMed, Evidence-Based Health Care Center Database (JBI), American Guidenet, Global Guidenet, CNKI, CMBM, Wanfang, and VIP databases on preoperative pre-rehabilitation of patients with lung cancer and COPD. Literature screening and quality evaluation were conducted independently by two researchers, and evidence was extracted, summarized and summarized according to the theme. Results: A total of 13 kinds of literature were included, including 4 guidelines, 4 systematic reviews, 3 evidence summaries, and 2 expert consensus articles. This paper summarizes 44 best evidence on pre-rehabilitation of lung cancer patients with COPD, including 8 aspects: pre-rehabilitation content and principle, pre-rehabilitation assessment, exercise rehabilitation, nutrition management, psychological guidance, health education, multidisciplinary cooperation, quality control and follow-up. Conclusion: The best evidence of preoperative pre-rehabilitation for patients with lung cancer complicated with COPD is rich in content, and needs to be selected according to the characteristics of the hospital and the clinical environment. Some of the evidence still needs to be confirmed by higher-quality studies.
Preoperative care of ophthalmic patients undergoing day surgery :a best evidence implementation program

Abstract:Objective To integrate the best available evidence of preoperative care for ophthalmic patients undergoing day surgery into clinical practice,so as to improve the quality of nursing.Methods This project was performed in an ophthalmic day surgery ward,guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI)Practice Application of Clinical Evidence System (PACES) program which includes 3 procedures:baseline audit,evidence implementation,and re-audit.Eight audit criteria were made based on evidences from JBI.Twelve nurses and 267 patients were enrolled in baseline audit,and 12 nurses and 234 patients were recruited for re-audit after evidence implementation.Results Six of the audit criteria that nurses showed poor compliance in the baseline audit(0％～28.5％),such as providing preoperative telephone screening and reducing preoperative waiting time through better preparation and planning,were significantly improved in the re-audit(71.43％～100％).The preoperative waiting time was shortened from 109.70±18.34 minutes to 88.22±9.91 minutes;the correct rates of operation-related knowledge in patients increased from 63.0％ to 85.09％;the patients' satisfaction scored 84.23±17.01 in baseline audit and 95.02±7.32 in the re-audit(P＜0.001).Conclusion Application of evidence-based preoperative care of ophthalmic patients undergoing day surgery can improve nurse's behavior and compliance with the implementation of evidence into clinical practice,and increase patient satisfaction.Continuous audits are needed to continuously improve clinical nursing quality.
A randomized controlled trial on hair follicular-derived microtissue for promoting wound healing and alleviating postoperative complications after hair transplantation

Abstract:Background: Hair transplantation, particularly through follicular unit extraction (FUE), can lead to postoperative complications, such as numbness, itching, and pain in donor areas, primarily because of delayed wound healing. Efficient management of donor-site healing is crucial to mitigate these complications and improve overall patient outcomes. Objective: This study aimed to assess the efficacy of hair follicular-derived microtissue (HFMT) in promoting wound healing and alleviating postoperative complications in donor areas after FUE hair transplantation. Methods: Perifollicular tissue obtained during the trimming phase of hair transplantation was processed into HFMT and analyzed for its properties using histological and molecular techniques. In a single-blind, split-scalp study involving 98 participants, Group A received HFMT or mupirocin, whereas Group B received HFMT or no treatment. Dermatoscopic images were captured postoperatively, and visual analog scale scores were used to evaluate pain, itching, and numbness. Results: HFMT-treated donor sites in Group A demonstrated a significantly higher wound closure ratio on postoperative day 3 than mupirocin-treated sites. Pain scores for HFMT-treated sites were consistently lower on postoperative days 3, 5, and 7. Similar trends were observed for itching scores. Group B exhibited outcomes comparable with Group A. Conclusion: The application of HFMT homogenates effectively accelerated wound healing and alleviated donor-site complications after FUE hair transplantation.
