Abstract:In this paper, we construct the so-called q-Schur modules as left principle ideals of cyclotomic q-Schur algebras, and prove that they are isomorphic to those cell modules defined in [3] and [10] in any level r. After that, mainly, we prove that these q-Schur modules are free and construct their basis. This result gives the new versions of some several known results such as standard basis and the branching theorem. With the help of this realizations and the new basis, we give a new proof of the Branch rule of Weyl modules which was first discovered by Wada in [20].

Abstract:When the parameter $q\in\mathbb C^*$ is not a root of unity, simple modules of affine $q$-Schur algebras have been classified in terms of Frenkel--Mukhin's dominant Drinfeld polynomials (\cite[4.6.8]{DDF}). We compute these Drinfeld polynomials associated with the simple modules of an affine $q$-Schur algebra which come from the simple modules of the corresponding $q$-Schur algebra via the evaluation maps.

Abstract:By embedding the Hecke algebra $\check H_q$ of type $D$ into the Hecke algebra $H_{q,1}$ of type $B$ with unequal parameters $(q,1)$, the $q$-Schur algebras $S^\kappa_q(n,r)$ of type $D$ is naturally defined as the endomorphism algebra of the tensor space with the $\check H_q$-action restricted from the $H_{q,1}$-action that defines the $(q,1)$-Schur algebra $S^\jmath_{q,1}(n,r)$ of type $B$. We investigate the algebras $S^\jmath_{q,1}(n,r)$ and $S^\kappa_q(n,r)$ both algebraically and geometrically and describe their standard bases, dimension formulas and weight idempotents. Most importantly, we use the geometrically derived two sets of the fundamental multiplication formulas in $S^\jmath_{q,1}(n,r)$ to derive multi-sets (9 sets in total!) of the fundamental multiplication formulas in $S^\kappa_q(n,r)$.

Abstract:We develop algebraic and geometrical approaches toward canonical bases for affine q -Schur algebras of arbitrary type introduced in this paper. A duality between an affine q -Schur algebra and a corresponding affine Hecke algebra is established. We introduce an inner product on the affine q -Schur algebra, with respect to which the canonical basis is shown to be positive and almost orthonormal. We then formulate the cells and asymptotic forms for affine q -Schur algebras, and develop their basic properties analogous to the cells and asymptotic forms for affine Hecke algebras established by Lusztig. The results on cells and asymptotic algebras are also valid for q -Schur algebras of arbitrary finite type.

Abstract:Expanding the classical work of Kazhdan-Lusztig, we construct a bar involution and canonical bases on the $q$-Brauer algebra introduced by Wenzl. We define explicit actions of the $q$-Brauer algebra on the tensor spaces, and formulate $\imath$Schur dualities between the $q$-Brauer algebra and the $\imath$quantum groups of type AI and AII respectively.

Abstract:We construct central elements in a completion of the quantum affine algebra at the critical level c=-g from the universal R-matrix (g being the dual Coxeter number of the corresponding simple Lie algebra), using the method of Reshetikhin and Semenov-Tian-Shansky. This construction defines an action of the Grothendieck algebra of the category of finite-dimensional representations of the quantum affine algebra on any module over this algebra from category O with c=-g. We explain the connection between the central elements and transfer matrices in statistical mechanics. In the quasiclassical approximation this connection was explained by Feigin, E.Frenkel, and Reshetikhin in hep-th 9402022, and it was mentioned that one could generalize it to the quantum case to get Bethe vectors for transfer matrices. Using this connection, we prove that the central elements (for all finite dimensional representations) applied to the highest weight vector of a generic Verma module at the critical level generate the whole space of singular vectors in this module. We also compute the first term of the quasiclassical expansion of the central elements near q=1, and show that it always gives the Sugawara current with a certain coefficient.

Abstract:In this paper, the module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) = H(e(i), f(i), k(i)(+/- 1))(1 <= i <= m)., on the coordinate algebra of quantum vector spaces are studied. We denote the coordinate algebra of quantum n-dimensional vector space by A(q)(n). As our main result, first, we give a complete classification of module-algebra structures of U-p(sl(m + 1)) on A(q)(3) when k(i) is an element of Aut L(A(q)(3)) as actions on A(q)(3) for i = 1,...,m and m >= 2 and with the same method, on A(q)(2), all module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) are characterized. Lastly, the module-algebra structures of U-q(sl(m + 1)) on A(q)(n) are obtained for any n >= 4.

Abstract:We investigate products of certain double cosets for the symmetric group and use the findings to derive some multiplication formulas for q-Schur superalgebras. This gives a combinatorialisation of the relative norm approach developed by the first two authors. We then give several applications of the multiplication formulas, including the matrix representation of the regular representation and a semisimplicity criterion for q-Schur superalgebras. We also construct infinitesimal and little q-Schur superalgebras directly from the multiplication formulas and develop their semisimplicity criteria.

Abstract:Some time ago, Rideau and Winternitz introduced a realization of the quantum algebra su_q(2) on a real two-dimensional sphere, or a real plane, and constructed a basis for its representations in terms of q-special functions, which can be expressed in terms of q-Vilenkin functions. In their study, the values of q were implicitly restricted to q in R^+. In the present paper, we extend their work to the case of generic values of q in S^1 (i.e., q values different from a root of unity). In addition, we unitarize the representations for both types of q values, q in R^+ and generic q in S^1, by determining some appropriate scalar products.

Some multiplication formulas in queer $q$-Schur superalgebras

Abstract:Building on the work [18], where some standard basis for the queer $q$-Schur superalgebra $\mathcal{Q}_q(n,r;R)$ is defined by a labelling set of matrices and their associated double coset representatives, we investigate the matrix representation of the regular module of $\mathcal{Q}_q(n,r;R)$ with respect to this basis. More precisely, we derive explicitly (resp., partial explicitly) the multiplication formulas of the basis elements by certain even (resp., odd) generators of a queer $q$-Schur superalgebra. These multiplication formulas are highly technical to derive, especially in the odd case. It requires to discover many multiplication (or commutation) formulas in the Hecke--Clifford algebra $\mathcal{H}_{r,R}^c$ associated with the labelling matrices. For example, for a given such a labelling matrix $A^{\!\star}$, there are several matrices $w(A)$, $\sigma(A), \widetilde A$, and $\widehat A$ associated with the base matrix $A$ of $A^{\!\star}$, where $w(A)$ is used to compute a reduced expression of the distinguished double coset representatives $d_A$, and the other matrices are used to describe the permutation $d_A$ and the SDP (commutation) condition between $T_{d_A}$ and generators of the Clifford subsuperalgebra. With these multiplication formulas, we will construct a new realisation of the quantum queer supergroup in a forthcoming paper [13], and to give new applications to the integral Schur--Olshanski duality and its associated representation theory at roots of unity.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the structure and representations of the quantum group ${\mathbf{U}(\infty)}=\mathbf U_\upsilon(\frak{gl}_\infty)$. We will present a realization for $\mathbf{U}(\infty)$, following Beilinson--Lusztig--MacPherson (BLM) \cite{BLM}, and show that the natural algebra homomorphism $\zeta_r$ from $\mathbf{U}(\infty)$ to the infinite $q$-Schur algebra ${\boldsymbol{\mathcal S}}(\infty,r)$ is not surjective for any $r\geq 1$. We will give a BLM type realization for the image $\mathbf{U}(\infty,r):=\zeta_r(\mathbf{U}(\infty))$ and discuss its presentation in terms of generators and relations. We further construct a certain completion algebra $\hat{\boldsymbol{\mathcal K}}^\dagger(\infty)$ so that $\zeta_r$ can be extended to an algebra epimorphism $\tilde\zeta_r:\hat{\boldsymbol{\mathcal K}}^\dagger(\infty)\to{\boldsymbol{\mathcal S}}(\infty,r)$. Finally we will investigate the representation theory of ${\bf U}(\infty)$, especially the polynomial representations of ${\bf U}(\infty)$.

Abstract:Haglund, Luoto, Mason, and van Willigenburg introduced a basis for quasisymmetric functions called the quasisymmetric Schur function basis, generated combinatorially through fillings of composition diagrams in much the same way as Schur functions are generated through reverse column-strict tableaux. We introduce a new basis for quasisymmetric functions called the row-strict quasisymmetric Schur function basis, generated combinatorially through fillings of composition diagrams in much the same way as Schur functions are generated through row-strict tableaux. We describe the relationship between this new basis and other known bases for quasisymmetric functions, as well as its relationship to Schur polynomials. We obtain a refinement of the omega transform operator as a result of these relationships.

Abstract:The ${\rm SL}_3$-skein algebra $\mathscr{S}_{\bar{q}}(\mathfrak{S})$ of a punctured oriented surface $\mathfrak{S}$ is a quantum deformation of the coordinate algebra of the ${\rm SL}_3$-character variety of $\mathfrak{S}$. When $\bar{q}$ is a root of unity, we prove the Unicity Theorem for representations of $\mathscr{S}_{\bar{q}}(\mathfrak{S})$, in particular the existence and uniqueness of a generic irreducible representation. Furthermore, we show that the center of $\mathscr{S}_{\bar{q}}(\frak{S})$ is generated by the peripheral skeins around punctures and the central elements contained in the image of the Frobenius homomorphism for $\mathscr{S}_{\bar{q}}(\frak{S})$, a surface generalization of Frobenius homomorphisms of quantum groups related to ${\rm SL}_3$. We compute the rank of $\mathscr{S}_{\bar{q}}(\mathfrak{S})$ over its center, hence the dimension of the generic irreducible representation.

Abstract:We define an explicit action of the quantum loop algebra Uq(glˆn) on the tensor space and show that these actions are compatible with the natural embedding Uq(glˆn)↪Uq(glˆn+1).
