Abstract:Static soil parameters struggle to describe the stress-strain response observed during geotechnical infrastructure construction processes. Employing machine learning techniques for dynamic inversion of soil parameters offers an effective way for enhancing engineering quality control and preventing potential problems. However, effectively incorporating the intricate characteristics of soils into modeling approaches poses a significant challenge. This paper proposes an innovative intelligent inversion method designed to address the path- dependent behavior exhibited by soils. The proposed parameter inversion model leverages an encoder-decoder architecture. Deformation responses from multiple time steps are processed by a Bidirectional Long Short- Term Memory (BiLSTM) network to extract pertinent features. Subsequently, a deep residual network (ResNet) maps these features to target parameters. To address the discrepancy between numerical analysis with field monitoring data, this paper introduces a novel model input strategy for coordinated training and testing. This strategy enabling static FEM analysis to mirror on-site dynamic excavation. The accuracy and reliability of BiLSTM-ResNet were validated using data from the deep foundation pit project at Liuzhou East Road Station, China. The results indicate that the lateral displacement of the diaphragm wall, calculated using optimized parameters, closely aligns well with measured data.
