Abstract:This article focuses on presenting the cooperative tool DIMS, it is a platform that can manage the participants's daily life, by providing flexibility and speed in the organization's tasks. The main interest lies in the possibility of organizing information system in a logical network, across multiple physical sites, incorporating a specific protocol to making possible the inter-server communication. This protocol, based on the Jabber standard, that meets the needs of working everyday matters, allowing the distribution of research and access to resources of the WAN. The technological objective concerns the evolution of an information system architectures, where the application may be a comprehensive set of tools and services on a distributed network of remote sites. The challenge for users is the perception of a collective role to each individual who cooperates in compliance with safety rules and unlimited access to technical information.

Abstract:Les recherches participatives en santé sont en plein développement. Certaines thématiques rendent l’association de personnes ayant un savoir expérientiel à la recherche à la fois plus complexe et nécessaire. C’est le cas des personnes qui consomment des drogues, dont les savoirs sont invisibilisés en raison de l’illégalité de l’usage des drogues et des multiples formes de domination et de stigmatisation qui en résultent. Cet article se propose de relater sous la forme d’une restitution une expérience particulière de compagnonnage sur le long terme entre une personne ayant un savoir d’expérience et une chercheure académique. À partir d’une collaboration singulière, cet article met en lumière les apports de la recherche participative, leurs effets sociaux et politiques, et leurs limites. Il montre comment chacune des parties prenantes se nourrit du savoir de l’autre afin de co-produire une recherche qui permette de faire évoluer l’action publique et de limiter les injustices épistémiques. Il met également en lumière les identités multiples présentes dans ce type de collaboration qui favorisent les conditions de la co-production des savoirs, et propose des pistes pour permettre cette collaboration avec une diversité de publics.

Abstract:The analysis of the practices and the tendencies of the users at the time of the search for information on Internet makes it possible to highlight several points. The search for information becomes powerful after knowledge of the typology of the various systems of research. This typology supports the adoption of a methodology of research which one can characterize by pull systems, intelligent agents, etc. In addition, the importance of the structure of the electronic document, correctly elaborated in advance, will support a higher relevance ratio to find information. In our article, the problems turn around the study of the behavior of the users in situation of search for information, as well as the constitution of a pole of documentary resources within a framework of an architectural project. It is noted that the evolution of the documentary resources is related to information technologies.

Abstract:Global Health Promotion, Ahead of Print. La qualité de la mise en œuvre d'une intervention de promotion de la santé est essentielle pour garantir son adaptation au contexte et aux besoins des populations. Pourtant, elle est encore négligée dans les recherches. Alors qu'elle est entreprise depuis les années 1930 dans l'étude des politiques publiques, le domaine de la santé fait face à une prolifération de termes qui ne facilite pas son enseignement et son organisation. Ce commentaire montre qu'il n'existe pas de différence notoire entre la recherche sur la mise en œuvre (implementation science) et la recherche de mise en œuvre (implementation research). Plutôt qu'un débat sémantique, il est important de rendre cette analyse plus systématique avec des démarches scientifiques et interdisciplinaires. La recherche concernant la mise en œuvre d'une intervention de promotion de la santé doit chercher à comprendre comment rendre nos actions plus équitables et plus efficaces.

Abstract:R{é}union is a European island in the heart of the Indian Ocean, far from the resources of mainland France. It's an island rich in diversity, and faces a number of societal challenges. Many players are working together to support the transformation of its societal model towards one based on territorial and collective resilience. In this article, we propose to look back at the studies and experiments carried out over the last few years in La R{é}union by a research group working in the field of multi-agent simulation, and to use examples to show how this approach can contribute in a very concrete way to the processes of understanding and manufacturing behavioral and spatial planning models for a territory. We begin by outlining the basic principles of the multi-agent approach, then present our feedback from experiments in various fields of territorial foresight. The article concludes with a presentation of the research team's approach to forging links between stakeholders involved in territorial transformation, through the facilitation of a think-tank.

Abstract:Problems of cooperation--in which agents seek ways to jointly improve their welfare--are ubiquitous and important. They can be found at scales ranging from our daily routines--such as driving on highways, scheduling meetings, and working collaboratively--to our global challenges--such as peace, commerce, and pandemic preparedness. Arguably, the success of the human species is rooted in our ability to cooperate. Since machines powered by artificial intelligence are playing an ever greater role in our lives, it will be important to equip them with the capabilities necessary to cooperate and to foster cooperation. We see an opportunity for the field of artificial intelligence to explicitly focus effort on this class of problems, which we term Cooperative AI. The objective of this research would be to study the many aspects of the problems of cooperation and to innovate in AI to contribute to solving these problems. Central goals include building machine agents with the capabilities needed for cooperation, building tools to foster cooperation in populations of (machine and/or human) agents, and otherwise conducting AI research for insight relevant to problems of cooperation. This research integrates ongoing work on multi-agent systems, game theory and social choice, human-machine interaction and alignment, natural-language processing, and the construction of social tools and platforms. However, Cooperative AI is not the union of these existing areas, but rather an independent bet about the productivity of specific kinds of conversations that involve these and other areas. We see opportunity to more explicitly focus on the problem of cooperation, to construct unified theory and vocabulary, and to build bridges with adjacent communities working on cooperation, including in the natural, social, and behavioural sciences.

Abstract:La participation des citoyen·nes aux recherches dans le champ du cancer se développe intensivement. Dans ce contexte, le projet de recherche IMPAQT visait à promouvoir la participation des patient·es (ayant été) atteint·es de cancer à toutes les étapes de la recherche. C’est guidé par les besoins des patientes-chercheuses du groupe de recherche IMPAQT que s’est construit le projet Perce-Neige. Fondé sur les principes de démarche communautaire, ce projet comporte un double objectif : méthodologique, afin d’appréhender la collaboration et caractériser la démarche communautaire, et empirique, concernant les troubles cognitifs liés aux traitements anticancéreux auprès des soignant·es. L’ensemble des outils méthodologiques visant à répondre à ces objectifs ont été co-construits par l’ensemble du groupe IMPAQT. La participation à la recherche des personnes concernées propose une nouvelle forme d’articulation entre savoirs experts et expérientiels et impose des modes d’organisation spécifiques. La co-construction de la recherche et des outils méthodologiques nécessite également une actualisation régulière des connaissances, des modes d’organisation spécifiques, ainsi qu’une capacité réflexive permettant de réajuster et d’accompagner constamment la démarche. Il apparaît aussi que la mobilisation des personnes concernées, possédant des savoirs d’expérience, soulève des enjeux émotionnels. En conclusion, la participation des personnes concernées à la recherche constitue un levier essentiel dans l’identification, l’élaboration et l’ancrage social et psychosocial des problématiques de santé en cancérologie.

A forum where french-speaking faculty can exchange research on teaching

Abstract:In order to help promote instructional change at French-speaking universities in Europe, we initiated a series of 1-day events centered on learning innovations. Since 2015, these events have been taking place every 6 months at the Université Paris Descartes, with the moral support of three learned scientific societies, the French Academy of Sciences, and sponsoring by leaders in textbook editing and classroom technologies. Each event gathers ~ 40 participants (faculty members, postdocs, and educational specialists) from four countries (Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Switzerland) and invitees, who share their active learning practices, flipped classroom variations representing the most popular strategy. Their experience revealed that faculty who invest themselves in revamping teaching are still isolated at their institutions, although institutional and national support have now been gaining momentum. In particular, the role of educational specialists (known as ingénieurs pédagogiques in France) is key to help faculty move away from lecturing. Overall, our event series illustrates that a hands-off approach is effective to foster a cross-border community of committed academics in a context where the process of changing the way we teach at universities is still in its infancy. © 2019 International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 47(5):599-606, 2019.

Abstract:The research examines 129 coopetition models through a qualitative-quantitative study performed using the IRAMUTEQ software to provide the dimensions and variables with more representativeness in the coopetition strategy literature. We used three techniques: Lexical analysis, Descending Hierarchical Classification, and Similarity Analysis. The results showed one macro dimension and two subdimensions divided into six classes. The elements hierarchy was the Creation of coopetitive value, Coopetitive orientation, Strategic adjustment, Coopetitive alliances as determinants, Perceived benefits, and Organizational profile. Similarity analysis results validated both the hybrid nature of coopetition and applications of the construct in market environments and related to cooperative knowledge sharing.

Abstract:Innovative ideas are often situated where disciplines meet, and socio-economic problems generally require contributions from several disciplines. Ways to stimulate interdisciplinary research collaborations are therefore an increasing point of attention for science policy. There is concern that 'regular' funding programs, involving advice from disciplinary experts and discipline-bound viewpoints, may not adequately stimulate, select or evaluate this kind of research. This has led to specific policies aimed at interdisciplinary research in many countries. There is however at this moment no generally accepted method to adequately select and evaluate interdisciplinary research. In the vast context of different forms of interdisciplinarity, this paper aims to contribute to the debate on best practices to stimulate and support interdisciplinary research collaborations. It describes the selection procedures and results of a university program supporting networks formed 'bottom up', integrating expertise from different disciplines. The program's recent evaluation indicates that it is successful in selecting and supporting the interdisciplinary synergies aimed for, responding to a need experienced in the field. The analysis further confirms that potential for interdisciplinary collaboration is present in all disciplines.

Abstract:La recherche communautaire, c’est-à-dire l’implication concrète des populations concernées dans la production des savoirs scientifiques les concernant, est un enjeu politique et une nécessité éthique. Coalition PLUS, réseau international d’organisations luttant contre le VIH et les hépatites (ONG pour la plupart), a créé un laboratoire de recherche communautaire (LRC) composé de personnes provenant de plus de seize pays et de champs disciplinaires différents. Les objectifs du LRC sont de renforcer les capacités en recherche d’organisations communautaires, d’assurer la collaboration avec des centres de recherche académique locaux et internationaux et de développer des projets de recherche internationaux. Le LRC agit comme un pont entre différents partenaires, en conciliant des intérêts parfois divergents, et doit jouer un rôle de médiation et d’accompagnement afin de favoriser le dialogue, la transparence et une relation de confiance entre les communautés et les chercheur-e-s académiques. Le besoin de légitimité scientifique oblige cependant à trouver un équilibre entre la nécessité de répondre aux besoins provenant du terrain et l’utilisation de méthodes scientifiques rigoureuses ainsi que la maximisation des ressources existantes. La quête permanente de cet équilibre a amené le LRC à réorganiser son mode de fonctionnement, afin d’optimiser les synergies existantes avec des laboratoires de recherche académiques, en vue d’asseoir sa légitimité scientifique et de continuer à contribuer à la transformation sociale par une recherche communautaire innovante et de qualité. Le présent article propose un retour d’expérience et une réflexion critique sur les enjeux, les défis, les pratiques et les solutions de la recherche communautaire au sein du réseau de Coalition PLUS.

Abstract:Le Groupe de réflexion avec les associations de malades (Gram) de l’Inserm a réfléchi, en consultant des associations et des chercheurs de l’Inserm et en puisant dans l’expérience de ses membres, à des points d’attention en matière de bonnes pratiques pouvant guider les partenaires impliqués dans des projets de recherche participative. Dans cet article, nous présentons ces points d’attention en rappelant la nécessité de laisser toute sa place à la concertation entre les partenaires pour que les projets de recherche participative s’effectuent dans les meilleures conditions possibles, aussi bien pour les associations que pour les chercheurs.

Abstract:Introduction : L’activité professionnelle représente une injonction à participer au collectif et alimente notre identité. En être privé peut engendrer une exclusion sociale. En parallèle, l’injonction à l’autonomie est prégnante dans notre société. La personne en situation de handicap peut souffrir d’une stigmatisation sociale et se trouver en tension entre handicap/autonomie/travail. Le travail est alors essentiel pour s’identifier comme un travailleur et non comme une personne dépendante. But de l’étude : La recherche participative présentée poursuit un double objectif : donner la parole à une population stigmatisée – les travailleurs handicapés – et à leurs proches ; comprendre et analyser avec eux les stratégies utilisées pour pouvoir travailler ou se maintenir en emploi et les répercussions de celles-ci sur la santé au travail et le rapport aux risques. Résultats : Les échanges entre le groupe de pairs et l’équipe scientifique ont permis d’affiner les questionnements initiaux, de reformuler des analyses, de modifier des supports de communication, pour les rendre plus acceptables et accessibles. Cette démarche participative a modifié nos pratiques de chercheurs en permettant aux personnes concernées par la recherche d’en devenir des acteurs. Conclusion : Pour des populations subissant une domination symbolique, la recherche participative permet de redonner confiance aux personnes et légitimité aux savoirs expérientiels.

Abstract:The article is aimed at research and actualization of co-opetition as a combination of cooperation and competition. The aggravation of competition in modern conditions of market relations encourages companies to look for new opportunities to maintain their positions in the market. There is a transition from traditional methods of competition, when the benchmarks were price, quality, to more innovative. And this is a struggle for intellectual leadership, the efficiency of the production process, the company's ability to grow and make a profit, to predict the future. In such circumstances, modern competitive relations require rethinking, developing a new strategy that would combine competition and cooperation. Combining these conflicting concepts, companies recognize that they can achieve mutual benefits by working on certain aspects of their business and still remain competitors. This is the paradox of co-opetition, which requires careful research. To scientifically substantiate the results of the study of the development of competitive relations, namely, the system of general scientific and special research methods was used. In particular: methods of classification and typology - to determine the forms of competitive cooperation; method of generalization - to identify categories of competition, cooperation; method of abstraction, abstract-logical methods - to establish the components (elements and levers) of the development of cooperativeness. The definition of co-opetition, theoretical principles; characteristics of co-opetition as a phenomenon of the newest variation of competitive relations in the market are provided, the main motives and forms of competitive cooperation are investigated. Examples demonstrating the effectiveness and efficiency of the application of the concept between companies are given. The probability of the emergence of certain barriers between companies, the benefits of cooperation. The conclusion is substantiated that the concept of co-operation contributes to the creation of new production technologies, the emergence of new products, the benefits of cooperation contribute to the solution of economic and social problems.

Abstract:Cooperative learning allows teachers and learners to develop workshops by teams to build knowledge according to the contents proposed in the English classes. This article is the product of qualitative research, which objective was to explore how cooperative learning improves the oral interaction in English of ninth grade students at a private school in Ubate, Cundinamarca. This study was framed in the Action Research, the instruments to collect data were the teacher's journal, reflections from each workshop and three interviews to sixteen students of the participating grade. Teamwork, cooperative learning and oral expression in English of ninth grade students are highlighted in the results. The conclusions point out that cooperation is a social practice among students that stimulates, motivates and improves learning and oral interaction in English.

Abstract:The European Union has set itself the daunting target of becoming the world's most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy by 2010. Any hope of success against the United States and the Asian tiger economies lies in the quality of scientific and technological research. In France, postgraduate training has long labored under a deep academia/industry divide. Although the universities have introduced supervised 3 year doctoral courses along the lines of the English-speaking countries, they still produce too many postdocs with little experience or understanding of, and little taste for, the private sector. This ignores career realities: the public sector can offer employment to only half the postdocs it produces. The rest must fall back on positions in the private sector, in some cases with a sense of failure, ill suiting them to drive the intellectual economy forwards compared to their international competitors. To combat the divide and emphasize the quality of the research training available within industry, the public/private National Association for Technical Research (ANRT), acting on behalf of the Ministry of Research, created the Industrial Research Training Agreement (Cifre) scheme in 1981. Higher education laboratories and private companies combine to offer doctoral students the opportunity to undertake their 3 year course in a mixed public/private environment (the exact ratio is not defined but in the case of the Servier Research Group, an early and active participant in the scheme, at least one third of the course is spent in the private sector). The doctoral thesis is thereby transformed into a meaningful career qualification. Funded by the Ministry, with maintenance grants to the students and compensatory payments to the companies, the Cifre scheme, which is currently being expanded, has produced 12,000 postdocs personally and intellectually equipped for careers transiting seamlessly between the public and private sectors, to the enrichment of each.
