Abstract:Cauchy problem for the generalized Ostrovsky equation in bounded domain is studied.By applying some knowledges of Sobolev space and some inequalities, some a prior estimations are obtained.By using Galerkin method it is proved that there exists a unique global solution for the generalized Ostrovsky equation in bounded domain.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the Cauchy problem for the Ostrovsky equation \begin{eqnarray*} \partial_{x}\left(u_{t}-\beta \partial_{x}^{3}u +\frac{1}{2}\partial_{x}(u^{2})\right) -\gamma u=0, \end{eqnarray*} in the Sobolev space $H^{-3/4}(\R)$. Here $\beta>0(<0)$ corresponds to the positive (negative) dispersion of the media, respectively. P. Isaza and J. Mej\'ıa (J. Diff. Eqns. 230(2006), 601-681; Nonli. Anal. 70(2009), 2306-2316), K. Tsugawa (J. Diff. Eqns. 247(2009), 3163-3180) proved that the problem is locally well-posed in $H^s(\R)$ when $s>-3/4$ and ill-posed when $s<-3/4$. By using some modified Bourgain spaces, we prove that the problem is locally well-posed in $H^{-3/4}(\R)$ with $\beta <0$ and $\gamma>0.$ The new ingredient that we introduce in this paper is Lemmas 2.1-2.6.

Abstract:Considered in this article is the Cauchy problem of a generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation $$\left\{\begin{array}{l}u_{t}+u_{xxx}+uu_{x}+|D_{x}|^{2\alpha }u=0,\quad t\in \R^{+},\, x\in \R,\\[1\eqnskip] u(x,0)=\varphi(x)\end{array}\right. $$ with $0\leq \alpha\le 1$. The local well-posedness of the Cauchy problem in the homogeneous Sobolev space $\dot{H}^s(\R)$ for $s\in (\frac{\alpha-3}{2(2-\alpha)}, 0]$ is proved. In addition, the mapping that associated to appropriate initial-data the corresponding solution is analytic as a function between appropriate Banach spaces.

Abstract:The Landau equation is studied for hard potential with −2 ≤ γ ≤ 1. Under a perturbation setting, a unique global solution of the Cauchy problem to the Landau equation is established in a critical Sobolev space HxdLv2(d>32)$$H_x^dL_v^2(d > {3 \over 2})$$, which extends the results of [11] in the torus domain to the whole space ℝx3$$\mathbb{R}_x^3$$. Here we utilize the pseudo-differential calculus to derive our desired result.

Our method is based on the analytical techniques coming from parabolic potential theory. Abstract:The goal of this paper is three-fold. Firstly, we prove that the Cauchy problem for generalized KP-I equation \begin{eqnarray*} u_{t}+|D_{x}|^{\alpha}\partial_{x}u+\partial_{x}^{-1}\partial_{y}^{2}u+\frac{1}{2}\partial_{x}(u^{2})=0,\alpha\geq4 \end{eqnarray*} is locally well-posed in the anisotropic Sobolev spaces$ H^{s_{1},\>s_{2}}(\R^{2})$ with $s_{1}>-\frac{\alpha-1}{4}$ and $s_{2}\geq 0$. Secondly, we prove that the problem is globally well-posed in $H^{s_{1},\>0}(\R^{2})$ with $s_{1}>-\frac{(\alpha-1)(3\alpha-4)}{4(5\alpha+3)}$ if $4\leq \alpha \leq5$. Finally, we prove that the problem is globally well-posed in $H^{s_{1},\>0}(\R^{2})$ with $s_{1}>-\frac{\alpha(3\alpha-4)}{4(5\alpha+4)}$ if $\alpha>5$. Our result improves the result of Saut and Tzvetkov (J. Math. Pures Appl. 79(2000), 307-338.) and Li and Xiao (J. Math. Pures Appl. 90(2008), 338-352.).

Abstract:Considered is the generalized Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation $$ u_{t}+u_{xxx}+uu_{x}+|D_{x}|^{2\alpha}u=0,\quad t\in \mathbb{R}^{+}, x\in \mathbb{R}, $$ with $0\leq \alpha\le 1$. We prove a sharp results on the associated Cauchy problem in the Sobolev space $ {H}^s(\mathbb{R})$. For $s>-\min\{\frac {3+2\alpha}4, 1\}$ we give the well-posedness of solutions of the Cauchy problem, while for $\frac 12\le\alpha\le 1$ and for $s<-\min\{\frac {3+2\alpha}4, 1\}$ we show some ill-posedness issues.

Abstract:We completely resolve the global Cauchy problem for the multi-dimensional Euler-Riesz equations, where the interaction forcing is given by $\nabla (-\Delta)^{-\sigma/2}\rho$ for some $\sigma \in (0,2)$. We construct the global-in-time unique solution to the Euler-Riesz system in a $H^s$ Sobolev space under a smallness assumption on the initial density and a dispersive spectral condition on the initial velocity. Moreover, we investigate the algebraic time decay of convergences for the constructed solutions. Our results cover the both attractive and repulsive cases as well as the whole regime $\sigma \in (0,2)$.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider in R-n the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation with initial data in the Sobolev space W-s,W-p for p < 2. It is well known that this problem is ill posed. However, we show that after a linear transformation by the linear semigroup the problem becomes locally well posed in W-s,W-p for 2n/n+1 < p < 2 and s > n(1 - 1/p). Moreover, we show that in one space dimension, the problem is locally well posed in L-p for any 1 < p < 2.

By establishing some crucial bilinear estimates related to the Bourgain spaces X-s,X-b(R-2) introduced by Bourgain and homogeneous Bourgain spaces, which is defined in this paper and using l-method as well as L-2 conservation law, we show that this fifth-order shallow water wave equation is globally well-posed for the initial data in the Sobolev spaces H-s(R) with s> - 63/58. Abstract:We study a class of parabolic quasilinear systems, in which the diffusion matrix is not uniformly elliptic, but satisfies a Petrovskii condition of positivity of the real part of the eigenvalues. Local wellposedness is known since the work of Amann in the 90s, by a semi-group method. We revisit these results in the context of Sobolev spaces modelled on L^2 and exemplify our method with the SKT system, showing the existence of local, non-negative, strong solutions.

Abstract:It is proven that if the leftmost eigenvalue is weakly linearly degenerate, then the Cauchy problem for a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear hyperbolic systems with small and decaying initial data given on a semi-bounded axis admits a unique global C1 solution on the domain {(t,x)|t⩾0,x⩾xn(t)}, where x=xn(t) is the fastest forward characteristic emanating from the origin. As an application of our result, we prove the existence of global classical, C1 solutions of the flow equations of a model class of fluids with viscosity induced by fading memory with small smooth initial data given on a semi-bounded axis.

(P) where 2^*=2N/N-2 is the Sobolev critical exponent for the embedding of H_0^1(Ω ) into L^p(Ω ) , Ω⊂ℝ^N is an open-bounded domain with smooth boundary, a>0 is a constant. We prove that if N≥ 7, the problem ( P ) admits an unbounded sequence of solutions. These solutions are obtained from subcritical approximations. This is done by analyzing the asymptotic behavior and the concentration compactness of the approximation solutions for the subcritical problems. The existence of infinitely many solutions to the subcritical problems is obtained via a p -Laplacian regularization process.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the strong solution to the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem for backward stochastic partial differential equations of parabolic type. Existence and uniqueness theorems are obtained, due to an application of the continuation method under fairly weak conditions on variable coefficients and C 2 domains. The problem is also considered in weighted Sobolev spaces which allow the derivatives of the solutions to blow up near the boundary. As applications, a comparison theorem is obtained and the semi-linear equation is discussed in the C 2 domain.
