Abstract:We successfully extended our Rh/bisphosphine-thiourea (ZhaoPhos) catalytic system to asymmetric hydrogenation of alpha,beta-unsaturated N-acylpyrazoles affording products with high yields and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 97% yield, 99% ee). The pyrazole moiety played an important role in providing H-bond acceptor sites, which is critical for achieving high reactivities and enantioselectivities.

Abstract:The efficient and highly enantioselective catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of beta-acetylamino acrylosulfone has been achieved by employing Rhodium-TangPhos as catalyst. A series of beta-amido sulfone products are obtained with excellent yields and good enantioselectivities.

Abstract:Novel chiral aminophosphine phosphinite, DPAMPP was designed and synthesized from (1S,2R)-1,2-diphenyl-2-aminoethanol. Its cationic rhodium complex has been found to be an excellent catalyst for enantioselective hydrogenation of dehydroamino acids (more than 95.0%e.e.).

Abstract:A chiral hydroxyl bisphospholane, 1,2-bis[(2S,3S,4S,5S)-3,4-dihydroxyl-2,5-dimethylphospholanyl]benzene (4), was synthesized from readily available d-mannitol. Its Rh(I) complex catalyzes asymmetric hydrogenation of dehydroamino acids and their ester derivatives with excellent enantioselectivities (98 to >99% ee).

Abstract:A highly enantioselective rhodium-catalyzed hydrogenation of both (Z)- and (E)-β-arylenamides was developed by using monodentate chiral spiro phosphite and phosphine ligands, respectively. The hydrogenation reaction provides an efficient access to optically active β-arylisopropylamines, important building blocks for the synthesis of biologically active compounds.
