Abstract:As an emerging way of the publishing,Publishing on Demand brings many positive impacts on authors,publishers and libraries,at the same time,there are two kinds of discorder in Publislhing on Demand: one is in publishing on demand of the dissertation,the other is in Publishing on Demand of the Wikipedia.The library field should take measures to improve the quality of the acquisition for foreign language books,avoid the disorder in publishing on demand,it includes improving information literacy levels of acquisition librarians of foreign language books,strengthening the communication among peers,using the on-site book selection method,and so on.

Abstract:Based on questionnaires conducted in Nanjing,the paper introduces the book genres,reading formats,reading supervisors,and the English reading activities as preferred by children.It aims to discuss the feasibility of conducting English reading programs for children in public libraries,considering the library resources,personnel,technological supports at disposal.It also puts forward proposals to improve publicity,volunteer recruitment and website construction.

Abstract:on the statistical data on the book lending amount of Gansu Agricultural University from 2007 to 2011,it makes a comparative analysis between different education background,grade,specialty and book kinds.It is concluded that the lending amount takes on a decline and undergraduate are the main groups of readers.It also concludes that reader lending behavior in different time is different and students in different grades have different lending behavior and the lending amount of readers specializing in Agriculture and related majors is low.Finally,it puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the document utilization.

Abstract:The library in the institutions of higher learning is the special stack room to collect literature of its own.It is of great significance to show the result of running school,to keep up complete data and to form a characteristic collection.By taking University of Zhejiang Science and Technology(ZUST)as an example,we analyze the existing problems in the library construction of the newly-built institutions of higher learning and define the scope of the library collection.Thus several methods are advanced to strengthen both its direction and initiative to turn the data base resources into the school's special collection resources as well as to grasp the timing node to collect library materials.

Abstract:The library is one of the most important factors that affect the quality of teaching in universities, and it plays an important role in improving college students'comprehensive quality,especially the ability of self-learning and innovation.To understand the differences and the influence factors in the use of library of some different kinds of universities,the Educational Statistics and Management Branch of Chinese Association for Ap-plied Statistics organized a multi -center survey on college students'classroom learning state in late 2010. Quantitative methods are applied to discuss the factors and the influences.The results show that there are com-mon factors among all the universities,and course plan and academic ability are the most important factors. Meanwhile,there are some unique factors,such as political status,monthly expenses,etc.Finally,universities can take certain measures according to the results to guide the students to make the best use of the libraries.

Abstract:A reasonable design of borrowing policy helps to regulate the reader's reading behavior and improve the use of the collections of a library,to meet the needs of different readers.By investigating and analyzing the borrowing privileges of some Chinese and America's famous university libraries,this paper compares the borrowing privileges in aspects of types setting of reader,documents type,borrowing item number and duration and overdue fines rule.It puts forward recommendations by acting on international standards,to improve the management level and service level,to reasonably develop the subdivision standards,as well as clear punitive measures,and to improve the utilization of literature.
