Current Situation of Mental Health Service in Wenzhou General Hospital

Abstract:Objective:Study the current service situation of mental health in Wenzhow general hospital.Methods:11 Wenzhou general hospitals were investigated by using a questionnaire survey.The survey contents include:hospital and medical services,the scale of the overall resources;set of mental health services and staffing situation;mental health case consultation;contact situation and psychiatric hospitals for mental health clinicians knowledge of training and so on.Results:(1)Among 11 general hospitals,five have set up the mental health departments,which accounts for 45.5%;Three surveyed secondary hospitals haven't set up mental health department.(2)The average psychiatric consultation rate in five general hospitals having mental health departments is 0.57%,in other hospitals without mental health departments is 0.13%.The difference shows a statistic significant.(3)None of the 11 hospitals had set up the model which meet the mental health consultation,i.e.,liaison psychiatry characteristics in our country.In other words,none of the consultation liaison group which were jointly participated in by the psychiatrists and clinicians.Conclusions:Wenzhou general hospital mental health services are in the initial stage,and has begun to attach importance to mental health services.However,the allocation of resources,recognition and treatment of mental disorders,psychiatric consultation liaison work,continuing education and training is still relatively weak.
