Abstract:The existing control theory is divided into two parts in this paper, i.e. precise control theory and fuzzy control theory. After investigating the advantages and disadvantages of the precise control and fuzzy control respectively, the so-called fuzzy-precise combined control strategy is proposed from the view of practical application in the paper. This new strategy will bring maximum control benefits with minimum design efforts. As the application background, the fuzzy-precise combined control strategy has applied into four full scale paper machine control systems, and all of them got good control results.

The functioning-fuzzy- subset and homologous reasoning method have been put forward for the process of fuzzy control on-time, and the reasoning results and the simulating control effects of the various fuzzy logic reasoning methods have been compared and analyzed.

Abstract:The paper applied a new asymmetrical, all-folded triangular-shaped membership function of the input variable to design the fuzzy controller. Based on these, we developed the structure analysis of the typical fuzzy controller with two inputs and one output and gave the output expressions of the fuzzy controllers with five fuzzy sets for fuzzification. Then we proposed a systematic design method of fuzzy control systems based on the existing PI/PD controllers. The simulation result shows the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract:Fuzzy control is based on fuzzy control rules, provided by experts, to control complex systems. The fuzzy control rules describe rudely the relation between input and output of controller. So Fuzzy controller is in essence a piecewise approximator. As a result, fuzzy control has two shortcomings in the process of controlling some practical complex systems. One is that control rules will increase exponentially with the increasing of the number of inputs, and the other one is that the precision of control system is not high. By analyzing thoroughly the essential relation between two input variables of the normal two-dimensional fuzzy controller, this paper proves that the essential relation is just universal combinatorial relation in universal logic. So the simple universal combinatorial operation can be used instead of complex fuzzy reasoning process. As a result, a flexible logic control method is proposed to realize the accurate control for complex system. Finally, the experimental result of single inverted-pendulum physical system has proved the correctness and effectiveness of the control method.

Abstract:By analyzing thoroughly the essential relation between two input variables of the normal two-dimensional fuzzy controller,this paper proved that the essential relation is just universal combinatorial relation in Universal Logic.So the simple universal combinatorial operation can be used instead of complex fuzzy reasoning process.As a result,a flexible logic control method was proposed to realize the accurate control for complex system.Finally,the experimental result of single inverted-pendulum physical system has proved the correctness and effectiveness of the control method.

Abstract:The fuzzy logic controller has been shown its power in ill-defined or nonprecise systems. However there are still some shortcomings. Two of them are that the control rules of fuzzy controller could not be always made optimal and that no systematic method is available for acquiring fuzzy control rules. In this paper, a systematic design procedure of an optimal fuzzy controller is presented. This controller will have the form of an ordinary fuzzy controller and make the fuzzy performance index J= k=f Tf�� (aN a(k))-r-bN b(k)) minimum, which is similar to the quadratic performance index. This method is applied to a papermachine control system and the control result is very satisfactory.

Abstract:Based on the stability condition of T-S linear model in fuzzy control systems,after analyzing of the flight con- trol system,a T-S fuzzy model is established.Consists of the state feedback method of modern control theory and the i- dea of parallel distributed compensation(PDC),a fuzzy controller obtained after solving a group of linear matrix inequal- ities(LMI).The designed controller could ensure the stability of closed loop control system.A simulation indicate that the design method is valid,and the controller shows a strong robust to disturbance.

Self-optimized algorithm of the fuzzy controller has also been presented. Abstract:In the intelligent control system with microprocessor controlling, the development of embedded software requires some simple and practical intelligent control algorithms. The algorithms can not only make the control system's performance good, but also meet the demands of real time control. Aim at the problem, it is presented that a fuzzy controller with simulating human intelligent control. The structure , control algorithms and the simulation results of the controller are given. The simulation and application show that the fuzzy controller with simulating human intelligent control has many advantages such as fast response, less overshoot, good robust. The design of the controller does not need the accuracy math model of controlled object.

Abstract:Most fuzzy control method is proper for the little time delay objects, but has worse effects to the multivariable large time delay ones. A new multivariable fuzzy controller is presented in this paper through employing stochastic related factors which are based on multivariable fuzzy condition decompose theorem. Using author's analysis method based on probability and statistics theory, the load control system of coal-fired generating unit is studied. And the type multivariable fuzzy controller is applied in the control system. The theory and simulation results show that this type fuzzy controller is fitted into the multivariable complex system with the large time delay.

Abstract:In this paper, a fuzzy Lyapunov function approach is applied to discrete-time fuzzy control system. Then, a new sufficient condition for the stability of the open loop system is proposed. In addition, the fuzzy PDC controller design problem is reduced to a series of BMI. By variable reduction lemma, the local state feedback gains are constructed. At last, simulation result is given to show the design procedure of the proposed method.

Abstract:The major subject of this chapter is fuzzy control, one of the most successful application areas of fuzzy set theory. Nowadays, many fuzzy products are visible in the market. Almost every fuzzy product is related to a fuzzy control problem. It is no exaggeration to say that fuzzy set theory is highly accepted partly because of the great success of fuzzy control. Fuzzy controllers may vary substantially dependent on what control problem is to be solved. In this chapter, we just outline the principle of fuzzy control by a typical application case. Since fuzzy inference is the base of fuzzy control, some related concepts such as linguistic variables, hedges, fuzzy propositions, IF-THEN rules and special fuzzy inference approaches are briefly introduced. Considering that fuzzification and defuzzification (especially the latter) play an important role in the design of fuzzy controllers, they also are investigated in this chapter.

Abstract:Fuzzy logic control was originally introduced and developed as a model free control design approach. However, it unfortunately suffers from criticism of lacking of systematic stability analysis and controller design though it has a great success in industry applications. In the past ten years or so, prevailing research efforts on fuzzy logic control have been devoted to model-based fuzzy control systems that guarantee not only stability but also performance of closed-loop fuzzy control systems. This paper presents a survey on recent developments (or state of the art) of analysis and design of model based fuzzy control systems. Attention will be focused on stability analysis and controller design based on the so-called Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy models or fuzzy dynamic models. Perspectives of model based fuzzy control in future are also discussed.

Abstract:The stability analysis and fuzzy controller design problem of discrete T-S fuzzy control system are discussed based on fuzzy Lyapunov function. First, a new Lyapunov function for discrete T-S fuzzy system is constructed. The fuzzy Lyapunov function shares the same membership functions with the T-S fuzzy model. Then, a new sufficient condition for the stability of the open-loop system is proposed. This condition is less conservative than the results obtained with the common Lyapunov approach. In addition, the fuzzy controller is designed based on a series of LMIs. At last, simulation example shows the design procedure and the advantage of the proposed method.
