Abstract:Information exchange is crucial not only among computers of the same workgroup, but also among the computers distributed in all over the world on Internet.It is difficult for computers to process large amounts of HTML-coded information resource to facilitate information exchange effectively. XML differs from HTML in that it separates data and formatting instructions. As a result, it is being adopted universally as a means of automatically exchanging data on the Internet. However, XML's lack of semantics prevents distributed computers from reliably performing information exchange on a semantic level.Recently, ontology has become an interesting area in knowledge study. In computer science, ontology is a formal specification. of a shared conceptualization. Web Ontology Language (OWL) such as DAML+OIL can be regarded as the languages based on Web standards for describing ontologies. DAML+OIL provides a specification framework for independently creating, maintaining, and interoperating ontologies while preserving their semantics.This article focuses on product information representation and exchange using from XML to OWL, and shows the value and significance of OWL for distributed information exchange. Lastly, a framework for OWL-based product information exchange is presented, and the peer-to-peer computing used in the framework's ontology layer is introduced.

Abstract:Java and XML will be the development basis for the Web application of the next generation because of their independent on the platform and the interpenetration between them. The authors analyze several techniques of manipulating XML data in Java application; research the mapping from XML Schema to Java classes. Based on the data binding, the XML data manipulating by Java application is achieved, and a typical example is given to validate it. Comparing with SAX and DOM, this method has the advantages of double-direction data manipulating and low requirement for system resources, so it is perfectly fit to the situation that the configuration information is represented by the XML documents.

Abstract:XSLT(extensible stylesheet language transformation)offers a powerful tool for transforming XML documents to HTML.However,it shows some weaknesses when the transformation requires extensive logic.This paper discusses how to extend XSLT with Java, thus taking advantage of both languages' features better.Finally,an example was given to demonstrate how XML nodes to be passed to Java classes and returned back to the stylesheet for futher processing.

Software Practice and Experience

Abstract:In name and in practice, the World-Wide Web (hereafter Web) is used around the World beyond English-speaking areas. This creates a tremendous need to internationalize standard terminology used in the technologies that make the Web possible. Existing efforts on XML internationalization (i18n) and localization (i10n) have focused on the content of XML documents instead of the terms used in markup (annotations) such as elements and attributes. The SGML standard ISO 8879 supports the use of Unicode (ISO 10646) throughout a document, including markups. However, most elements and attributes of XML documents are still defined in English, thereby limiting their use among non-English speakers. This paper presents an XSLT-based method that can completely localize the markup of XML documents into different natural languages. We also describe how the proposed technique can be applied to translation problems in programming (e.g. C and Java) or documentation (e.g. IAT(E)X or other formatting languages) so that a program or a document can be converted to and from an XML format. Abstract:XML(eXtensible Markup Language)has been recognized as a standard for data exchange over the Internet. The SOAP(simple object access protocol) is a platform-independent protocol for the exchange of information in the distributed and heterogeneous environment. In this paper, a cross-platform web collaborative environment is constructed to deal with the problems of collaborative work among inhomogeneous platforms. And the collaborative workflows of processes are explained in detail simultaneously. Finally, the implementation of this collaborative environment is also illuminated based on Java language, SOAP, basic transmission protocol (HTTP) and component technology.

Abstract:Based on the current situation of development and features in traditional areas of man-machine interaction, a development model for mobile application was designed. In order to enhance the development efficiency and quality of man- machine interface, with this model, an engine design was presented by using the ideology of Service-Oriented Architecture ( SOA) , which separated the User Interface ( UI) , logical code and resources. The Extensible Markup Language ( XML) is of good expansibility, self-descriptive, cross-platform, tree storage structure and etc. This engine ( called XmlSupervisor) can support the usage of XML to develop the user interface in mobile applications, which provides a reference for the design and develops the man-machine interface for mobile devices.

Abstract:The most striking aspect of XML specifications released by W3C is their mutual interdependence. At the time of this writing, XSLT2.0, XPath2.0 and XQuery1.0 are all W3C working drafts. Standardizing each specification will be a major challenge. The formal semantics will be helpful to the standardization of languages. The key idea of this paper is to model common semantic constructs of these languages as Object-Z classes. The purpose is to reuse these semantic constructs to specify the semantics of XML family languages and to understand the common and difference between those languages.

Abstract:As the flight simulation data are more and more complicated,the realization of sharing and using data becomes a study subject.First,XML is introduced.The mass information is organized into significative structural text data by XML,and the data in flight simulation are organized into XML document.This makes the exchange of data and the usage between the trades.Then parsing technique of XML document is analyzed.An editor of XML document is compiled by JAVA based on document parsing technique which can display,modify and store XML document.The practical application shows that the editor realizes the disposal of flight simulation data properly and enables sharing information and data exchange.
