Abstract:Two new compounds-methyl N,N-bis[2-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)ethyl]glycinate and ethyl N,N-bis[2-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)ethyl]glycinate——were synthesized via the reaction of glycine ester hydrochloride on 2-(2-bromoethyl)-1,3-dioxolane.The structures of the compounds were confirmed by FT-IR,HPLC-MS and 1HNMR.

Abstract:Seven new N,N-disubstituted glycine tetraacetyl glucosyl esters (5a similar to 5g) were synthesized by the reaction of N-(N-acetyl-N-arylglycyl)-N-arylglycines with 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-alpha-D-glucopyransoyl bromide in the presence of hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide and potassium carbonate. The structures of the target compounds were characterized by IR, H-1 NMR, MS techniques and elemental analysis.

Abstract:Objective: To synthesize N-[(1-methyl-β-carboline-3-yl)-formyl]-glycine. Methods: The target compound was obtained from L-tryptophan via 6-step reactions, including the Pictet-Spengler condensation, methylation, aromatization, hydrolyzation, coupling reaction and hydrolyzation. Results: The yields of the Pictet-Spengler condensation, aromatization and coupling reaction were 95%, 65% and 37%, respectively. The inhibition rate of N-[(1-methyl-β-carboline-3-yl)-formyl]-glycine benzyl ester 10, 1, 0.1μmol·L~(-1) on the MCF-7 human tumor cell line was 61.50%, 12.40% and 7.24%, respectively. Conclusion: The target amino acid and its ester prepared by this convenient synthetic process potentiated an anti-tumor activity.

Abstract:The preparation and molecular and crystal structures of the title compound are reported. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 (No. 2) with unit cell dimensions of a = 7.2493(3) Å, b = 8.9287(4) Å, c = 10.6594(4) Å, α = 90.419(3)°, β = 91.287(3)°, γ = 103.153(3)°, V = 671.62(5) Å 3 , and Z = 2. The molecular structure of the title compound consists of three sections, the glycine chain and the two 2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl groups. Every molecule is linked with three adjacent molecules through three hydrogen-bonding patterns which are 8-membered or 20-membered rings. The chain of rings appears periodically, which makes the molecule form a layer structure in the crystal.

Abstract:Optically active α-amino acid was asymmetrically synthesized under soluble polymer-supported quinine by homogeneous phase catalytic reaction. The precursor of l-phenylalanine, Ph2NCH(CH2Ph)CO2C2H5 (C24H23NO2, Mr=364.38) has been determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/c, a=10.4539(10), b=9.8315(10), c=19.8896(19)Å, α=90.00, β=93.661(2), γ=90.00°, V=2040.0(3)Å3,Z=4, Dc=1.164mgmm−3, μ=0.074mm−1, F(000)=760. The final R and wR factors are 0.0463 and 0.1239, respectively, with 3610 (Rint=0.0291) independent reflections.

Abstract:A novel derivative of glycyrrhetinic acid, (E)-ethyl 3-keto-18 beta-glycyrrhetinate 3-oxime C32H49NO4 (M-r = 511.72), was synthesized and structurally characterized by IR, H-1 NMR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It belongs to monoclinic, space group P2(1), with a = 12.4897(12), b = 7.3190(7), c = 15.9944(14) angstrom, beta = 94.833(2)degrees, V = 1456.9(2) angstrom(3), Z = 2, D-c = 1. 167 g/cm(3), mu = 0.075 mm(-1), F(000) = 560, the final R = 0.0449 and wR = 0.1122. A total of 7486 reflections were collected, of which 2785 were independent (R-int = 0.0199) and 2605 were observed with I > 2 sigma(I). There exists an intermolecular hydrogen bond which helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:A series of 3-thiazolidine acetic acid-2-(per-O-acetylglycosyl)-1'-imino-α-(substituted)-4-oxo ethyl ester derivatives (3a-t) were prepared via the reaction of substituted amino acid-N-[(per-O-acetylglycosylamino)thioxomethyl]-ethyl ester with ethyl bromoacetate. The crystal structure of 3-thiazolidine acetic acid-2-(2',3',4',6'-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-galactoyranosyl)-1'-imino-α-methyl-4-oxo ethyl ester 3g and ¹H-¹³C HMBC (2D NMR experiments) measurements of 3-thiazolidine acetic acid-2-(2',3',4',6'-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-galactopyranosyl)-1'-imino-α-(1-methylthio)ethyl-4-oxo ethyl ester 3j revealed the exclusive regioselectivity during the closure of these rings toward the N-2 position of the thiourea moiety. Furthermore, the crystal structure of compound 3g showed that the attack of N-1 was blocked by sugar ring owing to the steric effect. The bioactivity data suggested that compound 2e has mild anticancer activity.

Abstract:[formula: see text] The stereoselective preparation of C-linked D-gluco- and D-galactopyranosyl L-serines in their alpha and beta forms is herein reported. The syntheses require the conversion of the allyl C-glycopyranosides into their iodoethyl derivatives, which then undergo substitution with the Williams' chiral glycine enolate equivalent. Deprotection and acetylation affords Boc-protected amino acids for peptide synthesis.

Abstract:AbstractDirect α‐functionalization of NH2‐free glycinates with relatively weak electrophiles such as α,β‐unsaturated esters still remains a big challenge in organic synthesis. With chiral pyridoxal 5 d as a carbonyl catalyst, direct asymmetric conjugated addition at the α‐C of glycinate 1 a with α,β‐unsaturated esters 2 has been successfully realized, to produce various chiral pyroglutamic acid esters 4 in 14–96 % yields with 81–97 % ee's after in situ lactamization. The trans and cis diastereomers can be obtained at the same time by chromatography and both of them can be easily converted into chiral 4‐substituted pyrrolidin‐2‐ones such as Alzheimer's drug Rolipram (11) with the same absolute configuration via tert‐butyl group removal and subsequent Barton decarboxylation.

Abstract:AM1,PM3 semiempirical methods and Hartree Fock ab initio method of molecular orbital theory have been used to obtain the molecular greometry of N,Nbis(8 hydroxy 5 quinolinemethyl) glycine ethylester, which has been synthesized recently, by energy gradient completed optimization. The electronic structure and some basic molecular properties such as heat of formation, dipole moment are also calculated. These results are discussed relating the classical organic electronic theory. The geometry obtained with these methods is consistent with each other and in good accordance with the experimental structure. Normal mode vibrational frequency analyse has also been performed on the optimized geometry with AM1 method. The frequencies of C C double bond, C N single and double bonds, C O single and dluble bonds and hydroxyl are derived and in agreement with the characteristic peaks of experimental infrared spectra very well.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the synthetic method of 2-aminoxy-1- aminoethane dihydrochloride. METHOD The objective compound was synthesized by steps of ring-opening, condensation, hydrazinolysis and hydrolysis, starting from phthalic anhydride.RESULTS The chemical structure of synthetic product was confirmed by IR and 1HNMR, the total yield was amount to 39.4%. CONCLUSION This synthetic route is practical.

Abstract:Zinc glycinate monohydrate was synthesized with glycine and basic zinc carbonate as raw materials in water medium.The molar ratio of glycine to basic zinc carbonate was 2∶1,the temperature was between 90-95 ℃ for six hours,the yield was over 94.6%.After purification,composition,the structure of the complex was characterized by some analysis methods,such as elementary analysis,infrared spectrum,ultraviolet spectrum,thermogravimetric,differential thermal analyses,and powder X-ray diffraction.The chelate was proved as a molecule compound with one water,its molar conductance was 20.1Scm2·mol-1,stabilization constant was 2.29×105 and chelated ratio is 100% ± 1%.

Abstract:Two new isomeric macrocyclic phosphoramidates containing glycine ethyl ester and 2,5-diaryl-1,3,4-oxadiazole units were synthesized. The crystal structures of trans-isomer 1 and a 1:1 inclusion compound (2a) of cis-isomer 2 with acetone, were determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. Compound 1 is centrosymmetric layer shape, one benzene ring is parallel with another oxadiazole ring and the centroid-to-centroid distance D is 3.737Å. In contrast, compound 2 is L-shaped and the two oxadiazole rings are almost perpendicular with a dihedral angle of 87.81°. The phosphoramidate molecules are self-associated by intermolecular N–H⋯OP hydrogen bonds and intermolecular or intramolecular aromatic face-to-face π–π interaction of aromatic rings.

Abstract:1,4,5,6-Tetrahydro-6-oxo-3-pyridazinecarboxylic acid (I) was obtained by the condensate of alpha-oxoglutaric acid with hydrazine hydrate. I was dehydrogenated to give 1,6-dihydro-6-oxo-3-pyridazinecarboxylic acid(II). Under the phase transfer catalysis, I and IV were converted into corresponding N-1-substituted-1,4,5,6-tetrahydro-6-oxs-3-pyridazinecarboxylic acids(VI) and N-1-substituted-1, 6-dihydro-6-oxo-3-pyridazinecarboxylic acids(VI), which then condensated with ethyl ester of gamma-amino butyric acid. Ten ethyl esters of gamma-[N-1-substituted-1,4, 5, 6-tetrahydro (or It 6-dihydro)-6-oxo-3-pyridazinamide] butyric acid (VIIa-c and VIIIa-e) were synthesized. All compounds synthesized,here have not been found in the literature.

Abstract:A series of L-N-(pyrrole-2-carbonyl)-α-aminoacid methyl esters(Ⅲ) were synthesized in 71.3%~90.8% yields by acylation of methyl L-2-amino-3-methylbutanoate(Ⅱa) or methyl L-2-amino-3-phenylpropanoate(Ⅱb) with 2-trichloroacetylpyrroles(Ⅰ).The reactions were performed with n(Ⅰ)∶n(Ⅱ)=1∶1 by stirring in acetonitrile at r.t.for 10~13 h.Structures of the title compounds were determined on the basis of ~1HNMR,IR,MS and elementary analysis.The crystal structure of Ⅲg was analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction.Preliminary antibiotic tests showed that some target compounds inhibit five kinds of bacteria such as Salmonella choleraesu,Micrococcus luteus,Streptococcus faecalis,Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli,and the MIC of compound Ⅲg against Streptococcus faecalis is 0.078 mg / mL.

Abstract:The N-trifluoroacetyl- and N-tetrachlorophthaloyl-protected bromide of D-glucosamine has been used for the first time as a glycosyl donor for the glycosylation of diosgenin [(25R)-spirost-5-en-3beta-ol]. Both 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-2-trifluoroacetamido-beta-D-glucopy ranoside and 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-2-tetrachlorophthalimido-alpha,beta -D-glucopyranoside were transformed into the appropriate glycosyl bromides. These reacted with diosgenin under mild conditions, using silver triflate as a promoter, and gave the corresponding protected diosgenyl glycosides. Each was deprotected to give diosgenyl 2-amino-2-deoxy-beta-D-glucopyranoside hydrochloride. The structures of the new glycosides were established by 1H NMR spectroscopy.

Abstract:The results of crystallographic analyses on 1:1 and 1:4 well-defined co-crystals formed between glycine anhydride and each of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and 3,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid are described. Neutral molecules are connected via heteromeric O-H…O and N-H…O contacts leading to different packing arrangements of supramolecular chains. On the basis of the molecular structures of glycine anhydride and carboxylic acid guests, the hydrogen bonds are arranged to give centrosymmetric synthons V and VII which are noteworthy for their robustness. Hydrogen-bond interactions between glycine anhydride and aromatic acid provide sufficient driving force to direct molecular recognition and crystal packing. Utilization of the orientation of functional groups of the building blocks, the acidity, and weak interactions provides a route for the creation of novel supramolecular architectures in the crystal lattice. Both two co-crystals contain the expected hydrogen-bonded motifs, and there has been no proton transfer from either of the two carboxylic acids to the aza compound moiety. This demonstrates that glycine anhydride is very capable of affecting the construction of binary co-crystals in a predictable and rationale manner. It is noted that synthons VIII and IX are fairly large, but the real challenge in crystal engineering is to find a big enough synthon that occurs often enough. Thermal stability of these compounds has been investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of mass loss.
