Abstract:The novels “Exiled Immortal” and “A Touch of Green” are included in Bai Xianyong’s novels The New Yorker and Taipei People, respectively. In Bai Xianyong’s works, the concern for women is a constant topic, and he transforms himself into a combination of rationality and sensibility, sculpts the contours of the times and society, and captures the image of women in the plot through the language and behavioral details between reality and fiction. The tragic dimension magnifies the existence of women, the ups and downs of fate, the sadness of a foreign land, or the loss of self as a way to think about the dilemma of women’s existence. This paper focuses on female tragedy from a three-dimensional perspective: the causes, the deep narrative techniques, and the tragic endings. The study seeks to deepen the understanding of the delicate sense of female tragedy in the writing of Bai Xianyong.

Abstract:As a representative of modern Chinese literature, Shen Congwen's works have the brilliance of pure and simple human nature. Shen Congwen's works are mostly written during the "rising period" of China's feminist movement, and through his works, we can glimpse the thinking and consideration of female images and even gender relations by literary representatives at that time. As a representative of an important literary field in an important period of the alternation of old and new ideas, Shen Congwen portrays a female image with a certain modern significance based on the traditional male-centric perspective, showing the harmony of human nature, while revealing the specific form of male ideology ignoring female subjectivity and the specific form of male power to female otherization - objectification. Through Shen Congwen's romance novel's objectification of female characters, readers can have a more comprehensive understanding of the social thought and collective unconsciousness of that period, which provides a certain reference for women to resist the otherization of women by patriarchy and get further obtain gender equality. This paper re-examines Shen Congwen's works from a female perspective, aiming to expose that "male power objectifying women" has become the collective unconsciousness of the whole society and has evolved into an important link in social value standards, and improve society's sensitivity to the hegemonic behavior of "objectification".

Abstract:“Fortress Besieged” by Qian Zhongshu is known as the “New Scholar” in the history of modern literature. The “Scholar World” depicted by Qian Zhongshu is a shining pearl in the literary world. The description of female images is even more intriguing and impressive. It presents the light ahead of female consciousness and the deep-rooted traces of male consciousness. This collision between the old and the new gives this work unique literary and time value. Starting from the typical female images in “Fortress Besieged,” combining the original text and creative background, this paper explores the sparks between new ideas and deep-rooted patriarchal consciousness, which expands the analysis path of the male perspective for analyzing the shaping of female roles. Considering the female situation in modern society, it is concluded that the profundity of novel ideas has a positive role and significance for today’s women to strive for social status and discourse power.

Abstract:In this article, we read and analyse selected young adult novels by Chinese-German author Wei Cheng that address the dilemmas faced by young female Chinese immigrants in Western countries. The aim is to explore the ways in which the construction of femininity and gender are inextricably bound up with categories of race and ethnicity in China-West encounters, and to probe the dynamics of such encounters embedded in the larger socio-political power structures. Through a critical analysis of the representation of Chinese femininity vis-à-vis Western masculinity, the essay interrogates the workings of the "Orientalist gaze" in relation to patriarchy and gender politics. The portrayals of the cross-racial encounter in Shaonv de Hong Chenyi ( The Girl's Red T-Shirt ), which reiterate received ideas about the Orient, may be read as a product of self-Orientalisation, where the intriguing position of the adolescent Chinese girl prompts a rethinking of postcolonial gendered subjectivities. While self-Orientalisation may work to legitimate the discourse of Orientalism, the reading of Shaonv de Hong Faqia ( The Girl's Red Hairpin ) reveals the ways in which self-Orientalisation could function as strategic essentialism that allows the female "Oriental" Other to gaze back and stand Orientalism on its head. The marriage between gendered and postcolonial approaches to children's and young adult texts promises to act as a crucial intervention in the global struggle against hegemony.

Abstract:Shen Congwen's short story Xiao Xiao describes the growth of a naive, kind-hearted girl from western Hunan. Xiao Xiao experiences her childhood when she lacks family love and care, her youth when her female consciousness awakens and she yearns for freedom after marrying a child bride, and her life when she is numb and submissive after her escape is discovered. It reveals the tragic fate of the heroine, Xiao Xiao, and shows the tragic fate of generations of "Xiao Xiao" who are confined to their families.

Abstract:With the development of feminism, women's discourse has gradually risen, while women's emancipation in China has been even more difficult in terms of ideology due to the ravages of thousands of years of feudal concepts. With the help of Freud's psychoanalytic theory, this paper puts the characters in the background of the White Deer Plain and analyses their typical female images. From the perspective of personality structure theory, Tian Xiao'e is regarded as the representative of the "id", Bai Zhao's and Lu Leng's are regarded as the representatives of the "ego", and Bai Ling is regarded as the representative of the "superego". It also incorporates feminist theories to realistically and intrinsically analyse the tragic fate of women in the White Deer Plain. This paper exposes the "cannibalistic" nature of the male-dominated feudal society to enrich the reader's knowledge of the female characters in White Deer Plain and to understand the value of women's awakening.

Abstract:Though the female ethics dominated by Confucius cultural spirit is the "prime criminal" of the female subject absence in Chinese female history,it is indeed a dilemma toward female.In the one hand,the ethics puts woman in a subordinate position;on the other hand,the filial piety in the ethics situates woman in the image of mother to the subjective position for social cultural representation.Such a dilemma may explain the unique and complex condition of Chinese female which deviated from that of Western females.The two extremes of Goddess and female submission seen in classic Chinese literature lead to the delaying of Chinese female's self-awareness and self-libration comparing with her Western counterpart.

Abstract:In ancient Chinese feudal society, the status of women was very low, and women's behavior, language expression, and thought were all imprisoned. For example, the "three-inch golden lotus" is not only to meet the sexual psychology of male perversion but also to destroy the female body, so that women can not travel, thus imprison-women; "Three and four virtues", "good women do not marry two husbands", "women without talent is a virtue" are shackles on female thought. With the progress and development of society, the status of Chinese women has significantly improved, especially women's self-awareness has been greatly improved. At present, the more popular female literary works and dramas of female protagonists are the reflection of female independence and feminist thought. This article begins with the popular TV series “The Rumor of Chen Qianqian”, analyzes the story of the heroine who passes through the past and grows up in the city of Huayuan where women are respected and men are inferior and analyze the growth demands of women in modern society. At the same time as the current social progress, there is still a lot of discrimination and prejudice against women, such as the stereotype that housework is a task exclusively for women, and once women have children, they lose all their desires and needs. In particular, the article calls on society to strengthen publicity to avoid prejudice against women. At the same time, women should pay attention to their personal needs and grow into better themselves; Women are neither dependent on nor hostile to men, and they divide labor reasonably, give play to their respective strengths, and live in harmony.

Abstract:With the rising of feminism, the creative experience of Chinese female novelists has been attracting the attention of literary critics, who have focused much more on the ideological content but not on the narrative art. Actually, the female novels of the 20th century have undergone the process from unconsciousness to self-consciousness in terms of artistic level. By doing four case studies of Chenying, Luoshu, Luohong and Meiniang, female novelists during the Republic of China, the author tries to prove their mature esthetic consciousness and their respective achievements. Chenyin's meticulous and deep-going way in narration, Luoshu's detailed description of snobbery, the characteristic dialogue composed by Luohong and the viewpoint voiced by Meiniang are a demonstration of the rise of Chinese female novelists.

Abstract:Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio is one of the brilliant classical Chinese short stories in which females are described from the male perspective. The work presents diverse images of females who are not male private property or accessories any longer. As daughters, wives and mothers, they express the strong sense of feminism in a patriarchal society. The paper explores the images of five typical females from daughterhood, wifehood and motherhood based on Pu Songling’s description. These independent and avant-garde female images are the projection of Pu’s subconscious, which illustrates his advanced thought and reveals the social value of female.

The female consciousness in Chi Li's works and those in other female works have shaped a co existing polybasic pattern of female consciousness in the new period. On the other hand, however, in the course of intensifying the female consciousness of their own, Chi Li and other female writers have developed an opposite mood against pathiarchal culture, hence a grave unfavorable effect on their writing.

Abstract:Historically, women have been underrepresented in literature, the arts, and historical records, and their achievements and roles have often been marginalized or ignored. This phenomenon has led to an intriguing paradox: despite the fact that contemporary women have demonstrated strong abilities and potential in various fields, they are still usually considered to be in a disadvantaged position compared to men. This paper aims to explore the complex reasons behind the paradox of womens underrepresentation in history. To this end, it will review the lack of womens image in history, analyze the impact of social, cultural, and institutional factors on this lack of representation, and explore the gender issues that exist in contemporary society. The paper discusses in detail women's achievements in contemporary society, the embodiment of womens power, and the struggle for womens rights, demonstrating the strong capabilities and potential of contemporary women in many fields. The study concludes that the marginalization of women in historical narratives is a result of social structures, cultural norms, and institutional biases. Despite these challenges, contemporary women have made significant strides in various fields, suggesting that gender should not be a determining factor in assessing competence or potential. This paper argues for a greater awareness of gender equality and calls for a fairer and more inclusive reconstruction of historical narratives to ensure that the contributions of all genders are fairly recognized.
