Abstract:Given the escalating importance of cybersecurity, it becomes increasingly beneficial for a diverse community to comprehend fundamental security mechanisms. Among these, the RSA algorithm stands out as a crucial component in public-key cryptosystems. However, understanding the RSA algorithm typically entails familiarity with number theory, modular arithmetic, and related concepts, which can often exceed the knowledge base of beginners entering the field of cybersecurity. In this study, we present an intuitively crafted, student-oriented introduction to the RSA algorithm. We assume that our readers possess only a basic background in mathematics and cybersecurity. Commencing with the three essential goals of public-key cryptosystems, we provide a step-by-step elucidation of how the RSA algorithm accomplishes these objectives. Additionally, we employ a toy example to further enhance practical understanding. Our assessment of student learning outcomes, conducted across two sections of the same course, reveals a discernible improvement in grades for the students.

Abstract:Data encryption technology can protect data from illegal theft. This study analyzed the Rivest, Shamir, and Adleman (RSA) algorithm, the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm, and their encryption and decryption processes, compared their merits and demerits, and combined them to from the AES + RSA algorithm to achieve network data protection. It was found from the performance analysis that the AES algorithm only took a short time to encrypt and decrypt, while the RSA algorithm, due to asymmetric encryption, spent a much longer time in decryption than in encryption; the total time consumed by the AES algorithm for encryption and decryption increased hundreds of times, but the operation time of the AES + RSA algorithm was only slightly longer than that of the AES algorithm. Also, from the perspective of security analysis, both AES and RSA algorithms had high confidentiality, which could meet the needs of information security. The results show that the combination of AES and RSA algorithms is effective in information security, which can be further popularized and applied in reality.

Abstract:RSA is an encryption algorithm which is used for remote login session, credit card payment systems, transport layer security, secure socket layer, pretty good privacy and email security. Optimal asymmetric encryption padding is used in RSA to avoid chosen-ciphertext attack, coppersmith attack and chosen-plaintext attack. However, encryption in context of high definition video files shows repetitions of parts of ciphertext which can lead to frequency analysis attack. Key length and padding which are used in attack are according to National Institute of Standards and Technology and public key cryptography standards respectively. Security issues in RSA padding are analysed and experimental results are used in removal of defects. New architecture also prevents adaptive-chosen ciphertext attack. Integers which are generated by protocol in PKCS padding are used in new design, thus it does not create overhead in performance and challenges in handling and distribution of integers. Two XOR operations are replaced by one for more speed. RSA combined with new design of padding gets security advantages of both block and stream ciphers.

Abstract:The recent innovations in network application and the internet have made data and network security the major role in data communication system development. Cryptography is one of the outstanding and powerful tools for ensuring data and network security. In cryptography, randomization of encrypted data increases the security level as well as the Computational Complexity of cryptographic algorithms involved. This research study provides encryption algorithms that bring confidentiality and integrity based on two algorithms. The encryption algorithms include a well-known RSA algorithm (1024 key length) with an enhanced bit insertion algorithm to enhance the security of RSA against different attacks. The security classical RSA has depreciated irrespective of the size of the key length due to the development in computing technology and hacking system. Due to these lapses, we have tried to improve on the contribution of the paper by enhancing the security of RSA against different attacks and also increasing diffusion degree without increasing the key length. The security analysis of the study was compared with classical RSA of 1024 key length using mathematical evaluation proofs, the experimental results generated were compared with classical RSA of 1024 key length using avalanche effect in (%) and computational complexity as performance evaluation metrics. The results show that RBMRSA is better than classical RSA in terms of security but at the cost of execution time.

Abstract:In the past, people usually use the theory of computational complexity to analyze RSA security, which depends on the factor of large integer. In this paper, by using some results of Shannon’s theory of secrecy systems, we divide the message space and cryptogram space into some invariant subsets, and then compute the mutual information between messages and cryptograms. Therefore we obtain that the security parameter of RSA must be safe primes.

Abstract:One of the cryptography classifications is asymmetric cryptography, which uses two different keys to encrypt and decrypt the message. This paper discusses a review of RSA scheme of asymmetric cryptography techniques. It is trying to present the domains of RSA scheme used including in public network, wireless sensor network, image encryption, cloud computing, proxy signature, Internet of Things and embedded device, based on the perspective of researchers’ effort in the last decade. Other than that, this paper reviewed the trends and the performance metrics of RSA scheme such as security, speed, efficiency, computational complexity and space based on the number of researches done. Finally, the technique and strengths of the proposed scheme are also stated in this paper.

Abstract:The security of encryption algorithm attracts much attention in the information field recently,and many encryption algorithms have been proposed.Include RSA public encryption algorithm and it has been used extensively.Owing to chaotic sequence has several good properties such as pseudo-randomness,and extreme sensitive dependence on initial condition and parameters and so on.So it becomes rich cryptography.In the paper,we study an algorithm which generates a random big number by chaos system,and we implement the method to RSA public encryption algorithm.Finally through experiment demonstrates the proposition is validity,and obtains a good result.

Abstract:RSA public key cryptosystem is the de-facto standard use in worldwide technologies as a strong encryption/decryption and digital signature scheme. RSA successfully defended forty years of attack since invention. In this study we survey, its past, present advancements and upcoming challenges that needs concrete analysis and as a counter measure against possible threats according to underlying algebraic structure. Past studies shows us some attacks on RSA by inspecting flaws on relax model using weak public/private keys, integer factorization problem, and some specific low parameter selection attacks. Such flaws can not hamper the security of RSA cryptosystem by at large, but can explore possible vulnerabilities for more deep understanding about underlying mathematics and improper parameter selection. We describe a brief survey of past findings and detail description about specific attacks. A comprehensive survey of known attacks on RSA cryptosystem shows us that a well implemented algorithm is unbreakable and it survived against a number of cryptanalytic attacks since last forty years.

Abstract:In order to solve the partial optimization problems of the RSA algorithm in computer network security, a method of RSA algorithm optimization based on data encryption was proposed. In the research, the application of data encryption in network information security system was mainly investigated, using RSA as the representative algorithm in the public key cryptosystem. The network information security model on the basis of data encryption was built on the public key cryptosystem in the research. Through the introduction of the RSA algorithm and the corresponding optimization scheme, the experiments for comparison were set up. Through the experiments, the feasibility of the optimization scheme was verified. Experimental results show that the efficiency of the RSA algorithm was about 1.0% to 2% higher than that of the traditional algorithm after a reasonable selection of parameters and the use of an optimized algorithm (also known as the combination algorithm), which improved the efficiency of RSA algorithm to a certain extent and achieved the purpose of improving RSA algorithm. It was proved that the method could effectively improve the budget efficiency of the RSA algorithm and solve the optimization problem of the RSA algorithm in computer network security.
