Abstract:RSA is a time-consumed algorithm and is always implemented by using Montgomery multiplication algorithm.The paper develops a two-stage Montgomery multiplication algorithm and presents a high speed scalable hardware implementation based on the algorithm described for the RSA computation.High-radix,2~(64) is used in the algorithm.Compared with other Montgomery multiplication algorithm,the performance of RSA algorithm is highly improved.In hardware area,based on three pipelined 64×64 bit multiplier,five pipelined process unit is designed.Its architecture gives enough freedom to select the operand length to be used.It can implement multi RSA operation such as 1 024 bit,2 048 bit.In the 1 024 bit condition,its encrypt speed can reach 8 800 times per second.The system simulation and tapeout is based on SIMC0.18 technology.

Abstract:Modular reduction is the basic operation of cryptographic systems. The Barrett's algorithm and Montgomery's algorithm are widely used nowadays and they are both based on pre-computation. In the field of elliptic curve cryptosystem (ECC) over GF(2m), the reduction polynomials recommended by SEC have few items and the degree of second item is much less than that of the first one. Making use of this characteristic, the paper presents a new method to accelerate modular reduction without pre-computation which speeds up modular reduction by 10-30 times over GF(2m) and speeds up ECC point multiplication by 40%-50%. This algorithm has been implemented in a high-speed public-key cipher accelerator

Abstract:RSA is a secure, high quality, asymmetric key algorithm which is widely used today. To realize high performance and high flexibility at the same time, measures of hardware/software co-design are taken. Four schemes of RSA algorithm based on different partition of software and hardware are implemented: flexibility-orientated, performance-orientated, balanced one and pure hardware implementation. Some optimization attempts are taken. The bottleneck of SOS algorithm is analyzed and accelerated by ASM language to reach 75.9% running time reduction. The performance-orientated scheme put computation-intensive parts into hardware and communication part into software to take the advantage of each one. It is even faster than pure hardware scheme in decryption. The cycle of the this scheme is less than 2% of the pure software scheme.

Abstract:AbstrcatThe rapid advance in communication technology brings a request for cryptoprocessors of higher performance.In the design of the RSA modular exponentiator,the Montgomery modular multiplication algorithm and the right-to-left binary method are used and modified considering large-bit modular multiplication and VLSI implementation.A Carry Save Adder structure is used in the modular multiplier,to avoid the long carry propagation.We propose a Signal Multi-Backup strategy to resolve the problem of large loads that are caused by the signal broadcasting of large-bit operation structures.

Abstract:In order to solve the partial optimization problems of the RSA algorithm in computer network security, a method of RSA algorithm optimization based on data encryption was proposed. In the research, the application of data encryption in network information security system was mainly investigated, using RSA as the representative algorithm in the public key cryptosystem. The network information security model on the basis of data encryption was built on the public key cryptosystem in the research. Through the introduction of the RSA algorithm and the corresponding optimization scheme, the experiments for comparison were set up. Through the experiments, the feasibility of the optimization scheme was verified. Experimental results show that the efficiency of the RSA algorithm was about 1.0% to 2% higher than that of the traditional algorithm after a reasonable selection of parameters and the use of an optimized algorithm (also known as the combination algorithm), which improved the efficiency of RSA algorithm to a certain extent and achieved the purpose of improving RSA algorithm. It was proved that the method could effectively improve the budget efficiency of the RSA algorithm and solve the optimization problem of the RSA algorithm in computer network security.

Abstract:In 1982, Quisquater & Couvreur proposed a variant of RSA based on the Chinese Remainder Theorem, called RSA-CRT, to speed up RSA decryption. In 1990, Wiener suggested another variant, called Rebalanced RSA-CRT, which further speeds up RSA decryption by shifting decryption costs to encryption costs. However, this approach essentially maximizes the encryption time since the public exponent e in Rebalanced RSA-CRT is generally about the same order of magnitude as the RSA modulus. In this work1, we introduce two variants of Rebalanced RSA-CRT in which the public exponent e is much smaller than the modulus, thus reducing the encryption costs, while maintaining low decryption costs. For a 1024-bit modulus, our first variant (Scheme A) offers encryption times that are at least 2.6 times faster than that in the original Rebalanced RSA-CRT, while the second variant (Scheme B) offers encryption times at least 3 times faster. In both variants, the decrease in encryption costs is obtained at the expense of slightly increased decryption costs and increased key generation costs. Thus, the variants proposed here are best suited for applications which require low encryption/decryption costs but do not require key generation on the fly.

Abstract:Due to its very desirable properties, Chebyshev polynomials are often used in the design of public key cryptographic systems. This paper discretizes the Chebyshev mapping, generalizes the properties of Chebyshev polynomials, and proposes an improved public key encryption algorithm based on Chebyshev chaotic mapping and RSA, i.e., CRPKC−Ki. This algorithm introduces alternative multiplication coefficients Ki, the selection of which is determined by the size of TrTdxmodN=TdTrxmodN, and the specific value selection rules are shared secrets among participants, overcoming the shortcomings of previous schemes. In the key generation and encryption/decryption stages, more complex intermediate processes are used to achieve higher algorithm complexity, making the algorithm more robust against ordinary attacks. The algorithm is also compared with other RSA-based algorithms to demonstrate its effectiveness in terms of performance and security.

However, such an approach makes RSA encryption very time- consuming because the public exponent e in Rebalanced RSA-CRT is of the same order of magnitude as φ(N). In this paper we study the following problem: does there exist any secure variant of Rebalanced RSA-CRT, whose public exponent e is much shorter than φ(N) ?W e solve this problem by designing two variants of Rebalanced RSA-CRT, Scheme A and Scheme B. In Scheme A, we focus on designing a variant in which dp and dq are of 160 bits, and e =2 567 +1. Thus the encryption time is reduced to about 1 2.7 of the time required by the original Rebalanced RSA-CRT. Scheme B is a variant in which dp and dq are of 198 bits, and e =2 511 +1 .T hus its encryption is about 3 times faster than that of Rebalanced RSA-CRT, but the decryption is a little slower than that of Rebalanced RSA-CRT.

Abstract:Shor’s factorization algorithm (SFA) aims at finding the non-trivial factor of a given composite number, but the algorithm does not always work. In some cases, it has to call back to the beginning of the algorithm to make recalculation. After the analysis of the principle of SFA and the characteristics of RSA public-key cryptography with a series of data calculations, it can be concluded that the random value selected by the algorithm is closely related to whether the obtained period is effective. Therefore, a new optimized scheme is proposed to tackle with this defect from two perspectives: (a) When the a value is a perfect square, the algorithm can be completed with an odd cycle r. (b) When the period r obtained by the randomly selected a value is a multiple of 3, the algorithm can be completed by modifying the decomposition method to relax the requirements for the period without affecting the complexity of the algorithm. Due to the limitations of hardware in applying the quantum algorithms, the classical algorithm is applied to simulate quantum algorithms to test the success rate of decomposition of some composite numbers. The result indicates the effectiveness of the improved algorithm, which significantly reduces the probability of repeated operations to save the quantum circuit resources.

Abstract:RSA and ECC are two prevailing public-key crypto-systems.In order to demonstrate the feasibility of using an RSA coprocessor to accelerate the ECC algorithm,we presented a new method for implementing modular inversion which is required by the ECC algorithm.The new method is based on the Montgomery multiplication algorithm and the Montgomery inversion algorithm.We proposed a modification to the Montgomery inversion algorithm and improved the RSA coprocessor.With regard to performance and hardware cost,the new method compares favorably with other methods for modular inversion.The new method is 2.2 times and 7.2 times faster than the implementations based on the extended Euclidean algorithm and those based on Fermat's little theorem,respectively.

Abstract:Cryptography is very important in the field of network security. In order to encrypt various types of data using different encryption algorithms, an efficient encryption hardware architecture must have both flexibility and high performance. However, current hardware often fails to balance encryption speed and flexibility. This is a question that researchers need to address. This paper proposes a reconfigurable cryptographic algorithm processing module RPU, which can support various publicly available block cipher, hashing algorithms and streaming algorithms, as well as user-defined algorithms. This module is integrated into the SOC system. In this paper, we also map AES and SM4 algorithms and conduct experiments to demonstrate that we achieve better performance and lower power consumption. Compared with other hardware implementations, our proposed architecture has an energy efficiency advantage of 12X to 102X. Additionally, this design also improves energy efficiency by 3.7X compared to other CGRA chips.

Abstract:As one of the international public-key cryptographic standards, RSA is widely used in Smart IC card which is in the context of such a large number of users. The RSA key-generation inside the card IC is the most time-consumption procedure during the mass production of the cards. To reduce the time complexity, an optimized RSA key generation algorithm is proposed in this paper. The optimized algorithm was implemented to generate RSA key pairs based on the smart card chip called THD88. Experiments show the time to generate a 1024-bits RSA key-pair is 4.76 seconds on average under the system clock frequency of 20MHz, and is much less than other similar products. Testing results show that the time-consumption distribution fits 3 sigma distribution, and meets the requirements of the engineering application as well.

Abstract:A scalable design of RSA Crypto-coprocessor is presented in this paper, which supports variable keys up to 4096bits. By analyzing and improving the modified multiple-word Montgomery multiplication algorithm, its pipeline architecture is optimized and critical path is greatly shortened. Meanwhile, its performance is much higher compared with previous work. Therefore, the proposed design is very suitable to the low-cost and high-performance RSA cryptosystem and can be easily implemented in VLSI technology. ©2006 IEEE.

Abstract:The recent innovations in network application and the internet have made data and network security the major role in data communication system development. Cryptography is one of the outstanding and powerful tools for ensuring data and network security. In cryptography, randomization of encrypted data increases the security level as well as the Computational Complexity of cryptographic algorithms involved. This research study provides encryption algorithms that bring confidentiality and integrity based on two algorithms. The encryption algorithms include a well-known RSA algorithm (1024 key length) with an enhanced bit insertion algorithm to enhance the security of RSA against different attacks. The security classical RSA has depreciated irrespective of the size of the key length due to the development in computing technology and hacking system. Due to these lapses, we have tried to improve on the contribution of the paper by enhancing the security of RSA against different attacks and also increasing diffusion degree without increasing the key length. The security analysis of the study was compared with classical RSA of 1024 key length using mathematical evaluation proofs, the experimental results generated were compared with classical RSA of 1024 key length using avalanche effect in (%) and computational complexity as performance evaluation metrics. The results show that RBMRSA is better than classical RSA in terms of security but at the cost of execution time.

Abstract:High performance VLSI implementation of the RSA algorithm using the systolic array is presented. High-speed applications of RSA systems require parallel implementations of modular multipliers. Besides using the systolic architecture which is popular in hardware-based RSA systems, a block-based scheme is used to further eliminate global signals, with a pipelined bus to convey data globally. The control signals and intermediate results used for sequential multiplications are transmitted by shift registers. All signals, except for the clock signal, are limited in one block or between two adjacent blocks. A Carry-Save-Adder structure is used for calculating the iterative step of the algorithms which contributes to speed improvement and area saving. In addition, long modular multipliers suffer from the effect of large fanout. Novel architectures are proposed to eliminate the fanout bottleneck, which reduce the achievable minimum clock period of long modular multipliers. Compared to the original modular multiplier architecture with fanout bottleneck, the proposed architectures can achieve an increase of over 7% in throughput without increase in area. The Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) technique increases the decryption data rate by a factor of four. Two redundant blocks are added to adapt to the on-line partition of the multiplier and the variation of the length of P and Q in CRT mode.
