Abstract:"Soil Mechanics" is a degree course in Zhejiang University City College of Civil Engineering. The teaching group of this course has thought and practiced the reforms in teacher-student interaction, attendance innovation, materials selection, layout of the homework and the form of practice teaching. Simplifying the derivation of calculation formulas and strengthening the experiment and practice which can develop the students' manipulative ability and innovative spirit. Interacting with students which can make them learn more about the teacher and this course. At the same time, teachers can understand better about the students' thinking, then adapt and improve each other. The reform of teaching material selection and arrangement of work which make students have more examples to refer. The free choice in after-school subject which allow students to sum up the knowledge points and that would enable the consolidation of classroom teaching. At the same time, by consulting reference books, students will find the knowledge points which the teacher did not emphasized.

Abstract:Programming is of great importance to the cultivation of computational thinking and logical thinking ability. However, the programming course in the middle school stage has been unpopular for years among most students. There are two reasons that contribute to this phenomenon: First, teachers paid more attention to grammar teaching than computational and logical thinking; second, students perceived that the content of programming course was not important, and unrelated to actual situation, and not enthusiastic for programming course. Out of fear about debugging, students tend to have lower intention for getting good grades or attain programming skills. Under these circumstances, this research introduced robot design and application into programming courses for students in high school, using robot teaching as a carrier, and integrating the cultivation of logical thinking into teaching. Carrying out teaching practice and related research with robot education as the carrier, this study succeed s in stimulating students’ sense of self-efficacy in the field of programming, cultivating students’ logical thinking ability, scientific research ability, and developing their scientific inquiry spirit.

Abstract:By analyzing the current situation and deficiencies of the teaching of concrete structure design courses, summarizing teaching experience, and combining with the characteristics of our university's "applied" talent training, this study explores the teaching reform of concrete structure design courses for the 2021 level civil engineering majors. Abstract:The problem of mathematics is an important teaching method of students' core qualities cultivation. Statistics and analysis of The master's thesis related to "junior high school mathematics" and "problem posing" in the past ten years were counted and analyzed from chronological distribution, institutional distribution and research topics and other dimensions. Abstract:Aiming at higher vocational students’ confusion about mathematics learning, we draw on the “integration of doing, learning and teaching” to change the closed state of mathematics teaching, serving the lifelong development of students. The theoretical basis is Dewey’s educational theory, Tao Xingzhi’s educational thought, Bandura’s activity theory, Marx’s theory on the comprehensive development of human, and system science. Dewey’s theory emphasizes active work, Tao Xingzhi’s educational thought emphasizes a high degree of integration of students’ practice, teachers’ guidance and their joint learning, Bandura’s theory emphasizes the relative effectiveness of teaching and learning, Marx’s theory of “whole person” emphasizes treating human as a whole, and his theory of systematic science emphasizes the synergistic collaboration between education reform and other aspects. Through the research, we have developed an open classroom, an effective teaching structure, an effective teaching methodology, an effective curriculum carrier for constructing mathematical literacy-mathematical culture and practice activities, enabling the integration of mathematical history with teaching and learning, and the emotional input for mathematical diary.

Abstract:To promote the art of calligraphy and inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture, it is necessary to strengthen calligraphy education in primary and secondary schools, expand the influence of Chinese character writing education, and comprehensively improve students' writing literacy. However, studies have found that primary and secondary school students' ability to write Chinese characters has weakened, which is naturally related to the weakening of pen-and-paper writing in the information age, but also to the insufficient understanding of calligraphy education in school education and the lack of effective guidance from teachers for students. Teachers' writing level has a profound impact on students, and the demand for teachers to teach calligraphy in basic education poses a challenge to the writing skills of teacher trainees in colleges and universities. However, the current writing skills courses for teachers in colleges and universities have problems such as unclear positioning of the curriculum, the overall quality level of teachers needs to be improved, the skills training of the courses is not prominent enough, and the assessment system is not sound. Accordingly, the path of teaching reform of teachers' writing skills course is proposed: first, adjusting teaching objectives; second, reconstructing teaching modules; third, improving assessment methods; and fourth, carrying out diversified teaching activities.

History and Overview

Abstract:This article is a part of the report for the research project ``Reform of the Course System and Teaching Content of Higher Mathematics (For Non-Mathematical Specialties)'' in 1995, supported by the National Ministry of Education. There are thirteen universities participated in this project. The Report not only reflects results of our participants, but also includes valuable opinions of many colleagues in the mathematical education circles. In this article, after a brief description on the history and reform situation of the higher mathematics education in China, attention concentrates to three aspects. They are: main problems in this field existing; the functions of mathematics accomplishment for college students; these concern course system, teaching and learning philosophy, such as overemphasized specialty education, overlooking to arouse rational thinking and aesthetic conceptions, etc. The last aspect contains a discussion on several important relationships, such as: knowledge impartment and quality cultivation, inherence and modernization of the mathematical knowledge, teacher's guidance and students' initiative, mathematical basic training and mathematical application consciousness and ability cultivation, etc.
