A Further Discussion of the Professionalization of Student Work in Universities

Abstract:It is an irreversible trend for student work in universities to be professionalized.However,several problems manifest themselves in the implementation,such as the equation of professionalization with occupation,or its simplification into a separate post for student management.In order to achieve real professionalization of student work,the university needs to open training programs and select those candidates who are willing to devote themselves into this career.Moreover,on the basis of career development of teachers in charge of the student work,the university needs to gain support from external environment.The shortcomings in the present professionalization process needs to be looked into and a long-term program needs to be set up,so as to provide a long-lasting momentum for the student work in institutions of higher education.
