Abstract:This paper builds a test system of vibration on FOTON tractor,and gets the data reflecting the vibration characteristics.The vibration characteristics of tractor seat are analyzed with the help of this system.With establishing mathematical model through the identification of the frequency response curve,the vibration parameters of the system,such as Elastic Coefficient,Damping Coefficient and Natural Frequency are found.These results furnish theoretical basis for further studying on the absorber of vibration transmitted by tractor seat.

Abstract:The majority of the current research on the mounting system has emphasised on the low/medium power engine, rare work has been reported for the high-speed and heavy-duty engine, the vibration characteristics of which exhibits significantly increased complexity and uncertainty. In this work, a general dynamics model was firstly established to describe the dynamic properties of a mounting system with various numbers of mounts. Then, this model was employed for the optimization of the mounting system. A modified Powell conjugate direction method was developed to improve the optimization efficiency. Basing on the optimization results obtained from the theoretical model, a mounting system was constructed for a V6 diesel engine. The experimental measurement of the vibration intensity of the mounting systems shows excellent agreement with the theoretical calculations, indicating the validity of the model. This dynamics model opens a new avenue in assessing and designing the mounting system for a high-speed and heavy-duty engine. On the other hand, the delineated dynamics model, and the optimization algorithm should find wide applications for other mounting systems, such as the power transmission system which usually has various uncertain mounts.

Abstract:Using the wavelet analysis and multiple linear regression analysis method,this paper investigated the vibration relationships of a wheeled tractor among the tractor front axle,rear axle and the vibration of a tractor driver's seat in different speeds and different excitation frequencies.The results showed that there were different change trends with speed increase between the front axle and the back axle.It is not obvious that the influence of the front axle vibration on a driver's seat vibration at different speed.However,influences of the back axle vibration on a driver's seat vibration were enhanced significantly with speed increase.The study also found that influences of the front axle and the back axle vibration on vibration of a tractor driver's seat were significantly increased with frequency decreasing.The front axle and the back axle affected a driver's seat vibration significantly in low-frequency band(1 to 10 Hz).Furthermore,the back axle influenced the seat vibration more significantly than the front axle.This study provided theory basis for improving the comfort of a tractor driver's seat.

Abstract:As to the cab vibration of a super single tire tractor,a rigid-flexible coupling model is established for the tractor in MD Adams,the simulation is performed by inputting acceleration values measured by random test of ride comfort acceleration,and the accuracy of the dynamics model is verified by comparison with test results.Through the vehicle system modal analysis,the velocity sensitivity analysis and the frequency response analysis,the main reason for increased vibration of the cab is identified,that is,the road surface excitation frequency under certain velocity is close to the cab natural frequency and resonance appears.The characteristic parameters of damper of the cab suspension are optimized to reduce the cab vibration acceleration response.The ride comfort of the tractor is improved.

Abstract:This paper starts with study on the transfer characteristics, and the vibration isolation of the cab suspension. Vibration models of cab suspension and complete vehicle were built through multi-body dynamics software ADAMS. Finite element and multi-body dynamics were collaborated into the analysis of the transfer characteristics, the response and the isolation feature of cab suspension based on the complete vehicle. To improve the vibration performance of the cab suspension, improvements and optimization design were proposed with genetic algorithm method. The analysis results show that there only limited effectiveness on coil spring. So the improvement plans were proposed to replace the coil spring with an air spring and setting transverse damper. According to the plans, the original cab suspension was modified. The piecewise function method was used in fitting the characteristic of the air spring. This method can directly reflect the stiffness characteristic of the air spring within its working area, thus is good for the design and optimization toward different working stage. Meanwhile, the damping characteristic curve of the cab suspension was also designed. Based on the optimization of the modified suspension, there was a great enhancement on the vibration isolation. The lateral and vertical vibration of the seat sliding was decreased a lot. The result shows the optimization and the modification were effective and correct.

Abstract:A numerical method combining vehicle vibration theory with viscous boundary finite element method (FEM) was presented for simulating propagation paths of waves induced by a moving vehicle in complicated field. The FEM model of vehicle road-complicated field system was built to calculate the vibration response of the field with different vehicle running conditions and isolation ditches. The influence of vehicle vibration on environment was also evaluated. The results show that the reaction forces of vehicles running on an uneven road surface increases with increasing vehicle loading, while the dynamic magnification coefficient decreases. The reaction force and dynamic magnification coefficient increase with increasing vehicle running speed and road surface roughness. Isolation ditch can effectively reduce the acceleration response of field induced by the vehicle vibration, but may reduce the stability of running vehicles.

Abstract:【Objective】 This paper designs a practical testing system for acquiring and analyzing the tractor vibration signals.The system can supply a platform for studying the tractor vibration characteristics.【Method】 The data inquiring part was designed with DaqLab/2005,LC0201,transducer,and computer.Based on the theories of signals processing such as frequency spectrum analysis,wavelet,and chaos analysis,the analyzing part was completed with MATLAB.【Result】 The signal acquisition part can collect the tractor vibration signals when the tractor is excited at different frequencies.The signal analyzing part can complete the following work such as pre-processing,correlation analysis,frequency spectrum analysis and chaos analysis for nonlinear vibration signals.In order to verify the flexibility of the testing system,some experiments were done with Shanghai-50 tractor.The experiment results were given in this paper.These results proved that the system can realize the requirements.【Conclusion】 The testing system can be used for studying the tractor vibration characteristics.

Abstract:Vehicle dynamic model is essential for the control and simulation in autonomous driving. Compared to passenger cars that have been widely researched and applied, the modeling and evaluation of semi-trailer container trucks are less researched in the literature, and suffer from larger structure complexity and working condition variation. This paper proposes a 4-DOF and simplified 3-DOF dynamic models for semi-trailer trucks. Motivated by abundant real world data in various working conditions, the dynamic model is developed according to the trade-off between model complexity and accuracy. In low vehicle speed, the discretization error of solving differential equations can not be neglected, the model inference suffers from numerical instability, such as oscillation or divergence, which is a general problem. A stable and continuous model refinement method is proposed to deal with this problem. Evaluation is made for full-size semi-trailer container trucks using the real working data in Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Results show the effectiveness of the proposed model, which can be widely used in the autonomous driving system of semi-trailer trucks.

Abstract:Proper simulation design and experimental analysis is an efficient and low-costing way in researching and developing commercial vehicle cab suspension. A dynamic simulation model was established and testified by bench test for the development of one cab suspension, and based on which the performance of vibration isolation was optimized. A finite element model was also built and validated using the boundary condition extracted from the dynamic model. Several limiting conditions were analyzed which giving back necessary information in modifying the structure of the cab suspension. The fatigue characteristics of the cab suspension were also tested by the fatigue tester. The results show that the difficulties encountered in researching and developing the cab suspension can be efficiently solved by the method of simulation design and experimental analysis.

Abstract:In this paper, the planar vibrational response of an articulated vehicle with a suspended cab is considered. The statistical performance of innovative linear passive suspensions in response to a randomly profiled road is evaluated. Design guidelines based upon the analytical model derived are provided. A procedure for optimizing driver comfort/cab deflection trade-off is presented. The trade-off is made explicit in the form of a performance index comprised of weighted mean squared driver acceleration and mean squared suspension dynamic deflection. In addition, the potential improvements offered by nonlinear passive suspensions are investigated.

Abstract:ADAMS was used to establish the dynamics simulation model of a truck vehicle vibration system, while the engine, drive shaft and tire excitations were added to the model. For nonlinear characteristics of rubber mounting components stiffness and damping, input was conducted by the use of interpolation function SPLINE. Through the comparison of road tests and simulation results, the model reliability was verified and simulation analysis was conducted on this basis. The results show that reasonable selection and matching of powertrain mounting stiffness, mounting position could effectively improve the performance of vehicle vibration system.

Abstract:It the performance analysis of vibration isolation of a heavy-duty truck powertrain mounting system is conducted using FEM.First,the simplified 3D geometric models of the engine and gearbox are established,whose contours basically coincide with those of the engine and gearbox to ensure their centers of mass to basically remain unchanged.Then the masses and the inertia moments are also kept basically unchanged by selecting an appropriate density values.The elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of the mounting rubber material are determined according to both the parameter offered by the manufacturer and analysis results of the finite element models of the mounts built.The finite element analysis model of powertrain mounting system including engine,transmission and mounting component is established.The modal analysis of the model is conducted and the first six vibration modes are obtained.The effectiveness of this method is confirmed by the analysis result.

Abstract:The structures and principles of semi-active controlled ER fluid engine mounts were described.A simulation model in which the characteristics of the ER fluid and the inertia channel were incorporated was built.A controller using fuzzy algorithm was designed to cancel the force transmitted through the semi-active mounts in simulation.A six DOF dynamic model of powertrain mount system of a car was built by means of ADAMS.Comparing the simulation results of powertrain with semi-controlled ER fluid mounts to that of powertrain with passive mounts.The results show that vibration of the powertrain system with control is reduced greatly in the reference frequency.It shows that the semi-active ER mounts reduce significantly the vibration of the engine.

Abstract:A tractor-semitrailer vehicle travelling over a random road surface is modelled using finite element and analytical methods. The vehicle's linear models are constructed in such a way as to describe the bounce and pitch modes of both the tractor and semitrailer, the bounce of each wheel-axle assembly, and also to account for the semitrailer beaming effect. The road surface irregularities are represented as stationary Gaussian random excitations. Spectral analysis technique is employed to analyze the dynamic response of the vehicle.In this paper, the problem of the interaction of the vehicle with the road is discussed, the proposed mathematical models are presented, and the numerical results showing system eigenvalues, eigenvectors and power spectral densities of the vehicle stochastic response are given and analyzed. The finite element provides a powerful means for the prediction and assessment of the ride motion for this complex structure. The technique of spectral analysis is an effective tool for the analysis of road irregularities and the stochastic response of the road vehicles.

Abstract:For the problem that the truck' cab has an excessive vibration in usual speeds, the vibration testing platform was built, and its vibration characteristics were studied. Though effective testing the signal from the cab and some mount positions in usual different speeds, the signals' frequency components and vibration systems' transmission characteristics were analyzed, and the their correlations were studied, the modal characteristics of cab and frame system were calculated and tested, the results that the most main excitation source is the wheel, and transmission characteristics of the spring and frame system are worse are Acquired. Some proposals reducing the excitation power by doing the dynamic balance to tires, deceasing the stiffness of springs and increasing the stiffness of frame system are carried out on the real truck, and in the usual speeds the road experiments' effects of objective and subjective are great, the achievements are met of factory, which also proves the ideas of studying and solving the truck vibration are effective and could be valuable reference for the same engineering problems. © 2010 IEEE.
Optimal Design of Commercial Vehicle Cab Suspension System at Full Speeds

Abstract:By the applications of multibody dynamics software ADAMS,for a commercial vehicle with full-float cab suspension in traffic intense vibration,the vehicle multi-body dynamics mode was built. Based on the model,the cab ride comfort experiment was simulated. Considerd with simulation data which was carried out on the front and rear suspension stiffness and damping,it is concluded that the orthogonal optimization program was obtained under different speed. The orthogonal balanced analysis was used to analyze the optimizations of Various speeds and then it come out the result. The result is suitable for full speeds optimizations. And finally verified by full-scale trial,it is concluded that optimal decision can significantly improve the ride comfort of cab. It is It is proved that the trade-off optimization results are satisfactory and has engineering significance.

Abstract:The comfort is greatly decided by suspension system for a vehicle, and important factor which impact automobile performance is vibration, and vehicle riding and handling stability characteristics is impacted badly by this vibration. So damping vibration for vehicle seems very important, to aim at the System of Suspension on a Vehicle, building the modal of 1/4 vehicle with AMESIM to do the simulation, and analyzing the riding characteristics are described in the paper. Based on built of 1/4 vehicle modal, it's very convenient to analyze the performance of system by modifying the parameters. It can make the development circle shorter, and lower the cost. The results show that this is an easy and feasible method, and the convenience of utilizing AMESIM to build the vehicle modal.

Abstract:We investigated the nonlinear elastic characteristic of an in-arm hydropneumatic suspension unit (ISU) as well as the damping characteristic of the controllable vane absorber. Due to the strong nonlinear characteristic of the ISU, simplify is needed to accurately model the vehicle. Based on the theory of multibody dynamics, a virtual prototype of the tracked vehicle was built, which includes the hydraulic system, the multi-dynamics of running gears and a road surface model. The virtual prototype is validated using both a static balancing test and a stiffness characteristics test. By simulating the road impact loading of the tracked vehicle when travelling on a trapezoidal US military road, the changes of the pitch angle and the acceleration of seats and centroid of the tracked vehicle was analyzed for two different damping ratios. We also determined key ride indicators for different speeds. The stiffness and damping characteristics of the ISU were tested in a bench experiment.

Pitching Vibration Suppression of Cab System Based on the Suspension Longitudinal Coupling Effects

Abstract:The pitching vibration of truck cabs can easily cause driving diseases, such as sciatica and cervical spondylosis, which can seriously disrupt a driver’s normal life. To effectively suppress the pitching vibration of the cab system, a cab’s longitudinal coupled suspension system is proposed. First, the configuration and mechanism of the coupling vibration suppression effect were thoroughly described. The dynamic model of the driver-seat-cab system was then established and verified. The effects of suspension parameters on vibrations were investigated, and a method for matching the parameters for pitch vibration suppression was proposed. Finally, the vibration suppression efficiency of the suspension system was compared and analyzed based on an example. The results showed that compared with the cab-uncoupled suspension system, the RMS (root-mean-square) values of the cab pitch, the driver’s head pitch, and longitudinal acceleration under random road conditions are reduced by more than 28.0%. The RMS values of the cab, the seat, and the driver’s organs vertical acceleration are reduced by approximately 2.0%. Hence, the proposed suspension system can effectively suppress the pitching vibration of the cab system to ensure vertical comfort and significantly improve ride comfort.

Abstract:In this paper, a combined hydraulic-pneumatic mount (CHPM) of the cab isolation system is proposed for the improvement of the vibratory roller's ride quality. The semi-active hydraulic-pneumatic mount (SHPM) is then developed to further improve the ride quality. Based on the actual structure of vibratory rollers, a three-dimensional model of the vibratory roller and lumped parameter model of the cab isolation systems including the traditional rubber mount (TRM), CHPM, and SHPM are established to evaluate the performance of the cab isolation systems under the various vibration excitations of the deformable ground and the vibratory drum (at excitation frequencies of 28 Hz and 35 Hz). The experimental investigation of the vibratory roller cab equipped with the TRM is also performed to verify the reliability of the lumped parameter models and numerical simulation results. Two performance indices of power spectral density (PSD) and root mean square (RMS) acceleration responses of the driver's seat and cab are chosen to assess the effectiveness of cab isolation systems. Contrastive analysis of the vibration isolation characteristics of the TRM, CHPM, and SHPM is carried out, respectively. The investigation results indicate that the CHPM has an obvious effect on improving the ride quality and reducing the cab shaking compared to the TRM under various simulation conditions. Additionally, the SHPM controlled by the proportional-integral-derivative (PID)-Fuzzy control can further improve the vibratory roller ride quality in comparison with the CHPM under the same simulation conditions.
