Abstract:Methyl 3-oxo-2,6,6-trimethylcyclohex-1-ene-1-carboxylate was synthesised over eight steps from the starting material of citral instead of α-ionone. KMnO4, HC(OEt)3 and O2/TEMPO/CuCl were substituted for NaIO4, CH3I and pyridinium chlorochromate, respectively. Every step was simplified and gave a 48% overall yield. The procedure is suitable for large scale production.

Abstract:Novel cyclic esters (1R, 2R, 3R, 5S, 7S, 9R, 12R)-3-(t-butyldimethylsilyl) oxy-7-methoxymethyloxy-2, 10-dimethyl-12-oxatricyclo [7.2.1.05,12] dodecane were prepared when their precursor 1 was treated with SOCl 2/pyridine. A plausible mechanism was hypothesized.

Abstract:A new phosphaneoflavonoid was obtained by the reaction oxaphosphinine with β-resorcylic acid. A method was proposed for the synthesis of new unsymmetrical cage phosphonates based on 4-aryl-2-hydroxy-5,7,8-trimethylbenzo[ e ][1,2]oxaphosphinine-2-oxides as a result of intramolecular heterocyclization. Composition and structure of all the obtained compounds were confirmed by 1 H, 13 С and 31 P NMR, IR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry data.

Abstract:Polyol-substituted cyclic ethers are fundamental building blocks of biomolecules. The position and stereochemistry of multiple hydroxy substituents of cyclic ethers play a central role in their biological function. Current methods for the synthesis of such structures are limited to "naked" ring products with no or few substituents. Here we describe a general route to medium-sized polyol cyclic ethers using a migratory ether formation strategy. In contrast to the common pathway of direct opening of epoxides, Me3 Al was found to promote an unprecedented ether addition reaction, opening a neighboring epoxide. The resulting oxonium intermediate triggers a 1,3-methyl shift to yield 2-deoxyribital products. When the hemiacetal auxiliary is a monosaccharide, the sugar ring is expanded by four atoms to give the corresponding 9- to 11-membered analogues. This method provides an entry into the untapped chemical space of medium-sized sugar mimetics.

Abstract:Diphenyl 3-methyl-penta-1,2,4-trienyl phosphine oxide can be readily prepared via an atom-economical [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of the mediated alkenynyl phosphinite formed in situ by reaction of 3-methylpent-1-en-4-yn-3-ol with diphenylchlorophosphine. Electrophilic cyclization reactions of the vinylallenyl phosphine oxide prepared were investigated as it was established that the reactions proceeded with formation of various heterocyclic or highly unsaturated compounds with participation of the allenic and/or 1,3-dienic part of the vinylallenic system with neighboring group participation of phosphoryl and/or vinylic group. Abstract:An approach for the synthesis of cyclic phosphotriesters with various ring sizes (5‐ to 8‐membered rings) from phosphorus trichloride and diols was developed. The major challenge in developing this approach is the suppression of the undesired reactions caused by substrates containing multiple highly reactive sites. These undesired reactions were successfully suppressed by microflow technology, which can precisely control the reaction time and temperature. Two optimal conditions were developed, depending on the speed of cyclization. Fifteen cyclic phosphotriesters and their analogs were synthesized. A plausible mechanism for suppressing undesired reactions is proposed.

Abstract:A new unsaturated bicyclic ether, 2-methylene-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane (4) was synthesized by successive Diels-Alder addition of furan to acrylonitrile, hydrogenation of cyano compound 5, and Hofmann degradation of the quaternary ammonium hydrate 7 derived from the amine 6. Cationic polymerization of the monomer 4 was carried out in CH2Cl2 using BF3.OEt2, PF5, SbCl5 and SnCl4 as catalysts in the temperature range of - 20 to - 25-degrees-C. White or slightly yellow powdery polymers of low molecular weight were obtained with PF5 and BF3.OEt2 as catalysts, while no polymer was obtained with SbCl5 and SnCl4 as initiators. The IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectra of the polymers indicated that they consist of three kinds of repeating units, that is, two unsaturated units caused by ring-opening polymerization and one addition unit. Using proton NMR data of the polymers, the distribution of repeating units was calculated. A polymerization mechanism is proposed. The thermal stability of the obtained polymers is discussed.

Abstract:Novel tricyclic 1,4-dihydro-1,4-phosphagermines (3a and 4a) were synthesised from bis(1,3-imidazole-2-thione)-substituted difunctional germane derivative 2a; all structures were crystallographically confirmed. In going from rather small alkyl substituents (Me, nBu) at the nitrogen centers of the 1,3-imidazole-2-thione units to sterically more demanding R = Mes and changing the employed Ge reagent from (R2N)2GeCl2 to (R2N)GeCl3 we achieved access to mixed functional bis(1,3-imidazole-2-thione)-substituted germanium derivative 2c. The latter was treated with MeLi and, subsequently, with PCl3 to yield a pentacyclic P,Ge-heterocycle (5); its formation was rationalized using DFT theoretical calculations.

Abstract:Synthesis,characterization and biological activity of hexa(methoxyethoxyethoxy)cyclotriphosphazene,a new small-molecule phosphazene were described.The reaction of methoxyethoxyethanol with sodium hydride yielded sodium methoxy-ethoxyethanol.The title compound was prepared by nucleophilic substitution reaction of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene with sodium methoxyethoxy-ethanol.Its structure was characterized by IR,31P NMR,1H NMR,13C NMR and FABMS.The experiment of the nematicidal activitity was carried out.The obtained results showed that the compound was able to kill 32.8% of the Panagrellus redivivus at 1mg/mL within 72 hours.

Abstract:Steric crowding of the 3-position of tris(pyrazolyl)borate and -methane ligands has produced tetrahedral metal complexes with controlled reactivity. As an alternative, we propose to incorporate the tris(pyrazolyl)methane chelate in a macrobicyclic structure in order to create a cavity with well-defined dimensions and shape. Acid-catalyzed equilibration of excess of the new pyrazole 3-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)benzenemethanethiol acetate with HC(3,5-Me(2)pz)(3) followed by hydrolysis affords a functionalized tris(pyrazolyl)methane, which reacts with 1,3,5-tris(bromomethyl)benzene in K(2)CO(3)/DMF to give the title compound. Abstract:An efficient synthesis of a fully functionalized tetracycle (A-B-C-H) 7 containing a 1,4-bridged 10-membered lactone was developed. Phenolic aldol condensation between 2-methylsesamol (15) and Garner's aldehyde provided the protected amino diol 16, which was converted to free amine 11 in excellent yield. A Pictet-Spengler reaction between 11 and ethyl glyoxylate under carefully controlled conditions (LiCl, toluene, 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol, room temperature) provided the acid-sensitive tetrahydroisoquinoline (18) in high yield, which was converted to the amino alcohol 9. Enantioselective alkylation of a glycine template in the presence of a catalytic amount of chiral cinchonidium salt was the key step for the access of enantiomerically pure amino aldehyde 10. Union of the two fragments 9 and 10 via oxazolidine intermediate afforded amino nitrile 39, which upon esterification of the primary alcohol with (R)-N-(S-4,4',4"-trimethoxyltrityl) Cys (42) afforded 43. Cyclization of 43 (1 % trifluoroacetic acid in trifluoroethanol) provided compound 44 by a domino process involving (a) unmasking of the S-trimethoxytrityl group, (b) fragmentation of dioxane assisted by an electron-rich aromatic ring, and (c) formation of a 1,4-bridged 10-membered lactone via formation of a sulfide linkage. Treatment of 7, obtained in two steps from 44b, under acidic conditions (0.5 % methyl sulfonic acid in acetonitrile) afforded the pentacyclic compound 51 via fragmentation of the 10-membered cyclic sulfide followed by an intramolecular Pictet-Spengler reaction.
Synthesis of Polymerizable Methyl Acryloyl Oxygen Propyl Phosphate Ester

Abstract:A phosphate ester reactive emulsifier is synthesized via multi steps reaction which uses phosphorus oxychloride, hydroxypropyl acrylate(HPA), and triethylamine as reactants. The optimum technical conditions are acquired by discussing different feed ratios, reaction time and temperature. The product is characterized by IR spectroscopy. The results indicate that the yield of methyl acryloyl oxygen propyl phosphate ester will reach 98.80% when the feed ratio is: n(POCl3)∶n(triethylamine) : n(HPA) = 1.1∶1.3∶1, the reaction time is 1.5h, the reaction temperature is 25℃, and the second step hydrolysis reaction temperature is 0 to 15℃, and the hydrolyzed material ratio is n(intermediate product)∶n(triethylamine)∶n(water) = 1∶1. 4∶1. 2.

Abstract:Cyclic oligomers of poly(1,4-cyclohexylenedimethylene terephthalate) (PCT) were prepared by reaction of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) with terephthaloyl chloride under diluted conditions and separated from the linear products by silica gel column at a yield of 23.7 wt %. Cyclic dimer, trimer, tetramer, pentamer, and hexamer were further separated by high performance liquid chromatography, and found to constitute 98% of the cyclics mixtures. The structures of PCT cyclics were confirmed by means of mass spectrometry, Fourier transform infrared, and H-1 NMR analysis. A series of experiments were carried out to study the effects of catalysts and cis/trans configuration of isomers of CHDM on the yield of cyclic oligomers. Ring opening polymerization of the cyclic oligomers was carried out by heating the sample mixtures at 310 degrees C for 30 min in the presence of antimony oxide. Polymerization was confirmed by inherent viscosity changes and infrared spectra of the resulting polyesters. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Abstract:The compound 4-[2′-(trans-4″-pentylcyclohexyl)ethyl]- cyclohexanone was synthesized from trans-4-pentylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid via eight step reactions,namely reduction with lithium aluminium hydride,substitution of hydroxyl by bromine,Grignard reaction,dehydration reaction,catalytic hydrogenation,demethylation,catalytic high-pressure hydrogenation and oxidation with sodium dichromate.The mass fraction of the product by GC was 99.1% and the melting point was 40.9 ℃.Structure of the compound was determined by IR, 1H-NMR and IE. The synthesized substance can be used as an important intermediate for multi-ring system liquid crystal compounds containing ethylene linkage.

Abstract:A direct route to a doubly ferrocene bridged tetracyclic tetraphosphane 1 was developed via reductive coupling of Fe(CpPCl2)2 (2a), where a chlorine terminated linear P4‐compound 3 could be identified as an intermediate. Selective P‐P bond activation was further achieved by reacting 1 with elemental selenium or [Cp*Al]4, where regioselective insertion of Se or Al atoms resulted in ferrocenylene bridged [P4Se] (4) or [P4Al] (7) moieties. Compound 7 can be transformed to a hydrogen terminated linear P4 species, 8, with protic solvents. Methylation of compound 1 with MeOTf, proceeds via intermediate formation of monomethylated species 5, which gradually produced Me2‐terminated dicationic 6, again containing a linear P4‐unit. Besides spectroscopic characterization, the structural details of compounds 1, 4, 6, and 8 could be determined by SC‐XRD. Moreover, DFT calculations were used to rationalize the reactivity of 1, derived compounds and intermediates. As a key feature, 1 undergoes ring opening polymerization to a linear polyphosphane 9.

Abstract:Cyclopropylamine is synthesized with γ-butyrolactone and isopropanol by five steps of ring-opening esterification, cyclization, hydrolysis, acylation and Hofmann degradation. Cyclization and hydrolysis are key steps in the process, and Phase Transfer Catalysis (PTC) is used in the two steps respectively. In the cyclization reaction, because solid-liquid PTC, sodium hydroxide is applied instead of expensive sodium alcoholate, the reaction can be carried out in mild conditions. The optimum reaction conditions are as follows: 0.03:1:1.5 mole ratio of BTEAC to ester to sodium hydroxide, reacting at 50 °C for 2 h with yield of 92%. Hydrolysis of isopropyl cyclopropanecarboxylate is accelerated by liquid-liquid PTC, and the order of catalytic activity is BTEC > BTMAC > CTMAB > TBAB. The results show that the new synthesis method is superior to those from literature and feasible for production with simple routes, mild reaction conditions, cheap materials and total yield of 52.6%.
