Abstract:Aims & Objectives: To analyze the kinds of oral bacteria in children with tracheal intubation after using chlorhexidine in oral care, and to optimize the oral care method Methods Sixty-three children in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit were selected from January 2016 to November 2016. The patients were treated with oral rinse and scrubbed by chlorhexidine. And we collected oropharyngeal swab clutures before oral care, 2h after oral care, 4h after oral care, 6h after oral care, 8h after oral care Results The results of oropharyngeal swab clutures were analyzed. 15 of them had pathogenic bacteria. The lowest number of oral colonization was at 2 hours after oral care, The highest number of oral colonization was at 8 hours after oral care. And the number of oral colonization rose slowly in 2–6 hours, but rose rapidly in 6 hours to 8 hours. As for the number of oral bacteria, the minimum number of it was at 6h after oral care, and the largest number was at 8 hours. The number of bacteria was significantly reduced after 2 hours. The number of bacteria in the period of 2-6h showed a decreasing trend, and the number of bacteria increased after 6 hours. Analysis of common pathogenic bacteria, we concluded individual oral care frequency Conclusions Do oral care using chlorhexidine every 6 hours by oral rinse and scrub, will improve oral bacteria status of children with mechanical ventilation. For the common pathogenic bacteria, we should design personalized oral care plan
