Abstract:The traditional manual design of mixing equipment is time-consuming and error-prone and hence can benefit from automation. The architecture of an expert system for the process design of mixing equipment is presented in detail in this paper. The intelligent system can offer systematic assistance for mixing equipment design. This approach is implemented through a two-level blackboard-based framework with integration of multiple cooperative knowledge sources, i e design rule knowledge base, equation knowledge base and mechanical standards knowledge base. The function of inner blackboard system is to serve the inference engine of the design rule knowledge base, while the global blackboard system was adopted in the system as a data sharing and information-exchanging center to coordinate the complex cooperative problem solving. The structure of global blackboard is represented using a frame modeling approach. The merging of artificial intelligent technology and conventional design program puts mixing equipment design automatically into realities.

Abstract:In this paper, automatic modeling techniques in intelligent CAD systems are discussed and a multi-blackboard based modeling method is presented. It supports modeling with multilevel accuracy and can convert abstract symbolbased description of a design object into the desired 3D model. These characteristics meet the modeling requirements for supporting the overall design process and are suitable for intelligent CAD systems. We implement them in an intelligent chair design system, AUTOCHAIR.

Abstract:During developing and selling belt-grinding machine, there exist usually problems such as too many design-change orders, as well as very difficult to let customer understand thoroughly performance, shape and operation state of belt-grinding machine. Therefore, based on the analysis of composition and its modular partition of belt-grinding machine, whose reference machine frame, coordination system and freedom etc are elucidated. Then, a simulation prototype system of belt grinding machine is developed through taking Visual Basic 5.0, Pro/Engineer and 3DS MAX as tools. According to the simulation instance demo operation flow of belt grinding machine, several problems are dissertated during making cartoon of belt-grinding machine; meanwhile, some related applications are illustrated. Belt-grinding machine simulation is to be very helpful for resolving many problems existed during its developing and selling.

Abstract:According to the characteristic and function of open architecture NC system, based on the object-oriented development process, a framework of open architecture NC software with GE embedded motion controller was presented. The static use case diagram, activity diagram and class diagram were built up to explore the system model. The function requirement and realization flow, mapping relationship between diagrams and modules were described as well. Consequentially, the quality and efficiency of research and development of open architecture NC software system were improved. Finally, such an open architecture NC software interface was implemented using VC++ program language.

Abstract:The parametric model and the parametric drive mechanism of the mould board were established.The data share mechanism and calling mechanism between CAD and CAE programs were also discussed and implemented.An integrated design software-HTFXS1.0,based on the UG and ANSYS,was developed in the environment of VC++.Finally the module of parameterized CAD and the CAE programs were integrated,which was appiled to real mould board of HTF530 injection machine.

Abstract:Object-oriented technology is used to study the CAD/CAM system of super CNC glass carve center in this paper. Based on a successful development of the CAD/CAM system on the OS of WINDOWS, Modular organization in the CAD/CAM system and the detail process of figure forming are presented. It has been proved that the developed CAD system of glass carve robot that is accurate and effectively , and is very successful by a great deal of practice.

Abstract:Whiteboard has long been an important tool for education and communication, and nowadays it embraces display functions and other interactive features such as pen pointing and selecting of digital contents. Despite the enhanced interactivity, it is often time-and cost-consuming to implement specific apparatus for different whiteboard interactions. Therefore, we aimed at incorporating physical-world objects (e.g. Lego Rubik's cubes) as the cross-objects user interface for multiple whiteboard interaction tasks without incurring heavy development work. The user interface utilised electromagnetic technique to extract electromechanical signals and recognised normal objects, thus extended the generality. To further understand effectiveness of the user interface, we implemented a low-fidelity prototype and conducted within-subject evaluation. The results showed the cross-objects user interface was natural, responsive, and easy of learning as the conventional whiteboard. Moreover, the user interface outperformed over the conventional one in the perspectives of configuration efficiency and versatility of multiple interaction tasks. Given these findings, practical implications for future tangible user interface design for whiteboard interactions are discussed.

Abstract:Based on the integral working drawing of some typical frame beam,the longitudinal reinforcement separation diagram of the beam,the beam cross section drawing from the previous point,the paper establishes the self-owned coordinate system and controlled point matrix which can reflect the geometric shapes of the line objects,accomplishes the data preparation of the middle line object of the three-dimension display frame beam model in the global coordinate system by the coordinate transformation,applies the GUIDE in the MATLAB to realize the control display of the three-dimension model of the frame beam,and proves the feasibility of the development methods for the interactive CAI courseware.

Abstract:Pile layout map is a significant outcome of huge tank compound foundation design work, and it's usually saved as AutoCAD drawing sheet format. Reflection technology provided by .NET platform brings a new method to generate AutoCAD drafts automatically. It can greatly improve the efficiency of the draft designing work. This paper introduces .NET reflection type and AutoCAD object model. Based on the issue of generating the AutoCAD draft of pile layout map, the paper designs a mapping system to complete the drawing by controlling AutoCAD objects. The mechanism of the system and the design and realizing of the main functions are discussed in detail.

Abstract:In the basis of the existing computer aided process planning (CAPP) developing tool, the concept of CAPP developing tool was described. The basic hierarchical model of CAPP developing tool was proposed, which is the organic integration of the group technology, information model of process planning, object-oriented software, artificial intelligence and database techniques. The architecture of practical dedicated CAPP/numerical control (NC) system was presented. The results have shown that the model is effective.

Abstract:Nowadays, manufacturing enterprises have come to an agreement that open architecture controllers should be set up. Demands far increased control capabilities require the open computer numeric control (CNC) to comprise intelligent building elements. This paper presented HCM-I, an intelligent open CNC system, in which some intelligent elements are developed. The graphic platform of the system make it convenient to build and (re)configure a system by choosing icons. And with the intelligent programming module of the system, users can use natural language to describe the machining parts. It can translate the natural language, such as English or Chinese, into the standard NC language. These intelligent elements bring the system more flexibility and convenience to use.
