Abstract:After an investigation and analysis, the authors clarify students’ awareness and understanding of general education and their needs for general education. Abstract:The library in the institutions of higher learning is the special stack room to collect literature of its own.It is of great significance to show the result of running school,to keep up complete data and to form a characteristic collection.By taking University of Zhejiang Science and Technology(ZUST)as an example,we analyze the existing problems in the library construction of the newly-built institutions of higher learning and define the scope of the library collection.Thus several methods are advanced to strengthen both its direction and initiative to turn the data base resources into the school's special collection resources as well as to grasp the timing node to collect library materials.

Abstract:The 21st century is an era of knowledge and information. Modern science and technology based on information technology has inspired profound changes in the world, including college education. Information literacy is an intrinsic element that often plays an important role in teaching and school management. In the information age, how to improve college teachers’ information literacy has become a major issue in the development of college education. This paper focuses on the study of college English teachers’ information literacy. It first studies the basic connotation of information literacy of college teachers which covers information awareness, information knowledge, and information ability. Then this paper takes college English teachers in North China Electric Power University as the research object, and adopts questionnaire survey and literature research to analyze the current situation of the information literacy of college English teachers. Based on the analysis of the basic connotation of teachers’ information literacy, and the current situation of college English teachers’ information literacy, this paper puts forward three strategies for improving college English teachers’ information literacy: enhancing college English teachers’ self-development consciousness, making use of group dynamics, and perfecting modern information technology training system.

Abstract:Information literacy is a growing requirement for all majors, while engineering students have a stronger interest in developing this skill. Lead Users, who are proficient in information and digital literacy, are particularly adept at their profession. To address this, our university's subject librarian explored the expertise of Lead Users and developed an “Information Talent” program to facilitate interdisciplinary academic sharing. The program covers a wide range of topics and provides students with advanced information literacy skills and knowledge that cannot be acquired through traditional lectures. By using Lead Users as resources and supplementing original information literacy education, the program aims to improve students' information literacy. We have implemented a series of flexible, interactive, innovative activities that have enriched our university's information literacy education system and enhanced subject services on the new academic platform. These activities have been integrated into the university's academic ecology and received widespread recognition for supporting student personnel training. To ensure the sustainability of the program, we have incorporated the database system of “Information Talent”, which can sort out activity details by topic, talent, type, scope, and other keywords. Through analysis of the database system, we can effectively grasp the key details of activities and accumulate sufficient resources to guide future activities, ensuring the sustainable development of the program. This paper analyzes the practice of the “Information Talent” sharing program in detail, including key points and difficulties in the process, as well as solutions and ideas. Additionally, it proposes some ideas for future activities and sustainable development.

Abstract:Although the perceptions of library user education of academic libraries has been studied in a general context, specific studies on perspective of library and information science students are relatively few, especially in the context of Asia. Filling this research gap is particularly important because it affects the experiential learning of these pre-professionals, and shapes future library user education directions. As such, this study aims at understanding and comparing the views and perceptions of library user education programs in Greater China from the perspective of library and information science students. A total number 305 questionnaire survey responses were collected from three different universities in Greater China, namely: The University of Hong Kong (HKU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and Peking University (PKU). Results from this survey study reveal high evaluations of library user education programs and library user education librarians as a whole, as well as possible ways for librarians to better promote such programs. Such ratings are attributed to findings from previous studies on why students choose librarianship as a career, as well as the importance of experiential learning embedded in the Library and Information Science programs at each university. Findings of this study also suggest that as pre-professionals (soon-to-be professional librarians), these student respondents recognize the values behind library user education as an important part of their overall learning practices. Results from this study will be useful in identifying how future library professionals in Greater China perceive library user education programs, and librarians – therefore potentially helping librarians improve the delivery of these services.

Abstract:Traditional information literacy education in China focuses on using an information literacy course to cultivate students' theoretical learning such as information source collection. Students have a single learning channel and weak abilities in self-directed learning and innovation. The research on the cultivation system of information literacy in universities in China is still incomplete. Resulting in a low overall level of information literacy and insufficient information knowledge among college students, which greatly undermines their innovation and entrepreneurship abilities; There is a lack of information ethics education, and students often participate in situations such as online violence and attacks. This article studies the technical and application characteristics of AI smart education environment, explores the education system model of information literacy in universities, and improves the overall information literacy level of university students.
