Abstract:We establish new and general existence theorems of Lipschitz continuous solutions to integral equations with infinite delay in Banach spaces, as well as of strong and classical solutions to the Cauchy problem for some evolution equations with infinite delay. Abstract:In this paper, by using the spectral theory of functions and properties of evolution semigroups, we establish conditions on the existence, and uniqueness of asymptotic 1-periodic solutions to a class of abstract differential equations with infinite delay of the form \begin{equation*} \frac{d u(t)}{d t}=A u(t)+L(u_t)+f(t) \end{equation*} where $A$ is the generator of a strongly continuous semigroup of linear operators, $L$ is a bounded linear operator from a phase space $\mathscr{B}$ to a Banach space $X$, $u_t$ is an element of $\mathscr{B}$ which is defined as $u_t(\theta)=u(t+\theta)$ for $\theta \leq 0$ and $f$ is asymptotic 1-periodic in the sense that $\lim\limits_{t \rightarrow \infty}(f(t+1)-$ $f(t))=0$. A Lotka-Volterra model with diffusion and infinite delay is considered to illustrate our results.

Abstract:This article is concerned with a class of non-linear delay integral equations, which unify some extensively studied delay integral equations. We establish a new existence and uniqueness theorem about positive almost automorphic solutions of the delay integral equations. Our theorem can deal with some cases to which many known results are not applicable. Two examples are given to illustrate our results.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a Volterra model with mutual interference and Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. By applying the comparison theorem of the differential equation and constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions which guarantee the permanence and existence of a unique globally attractive positive almost periodic solution of the system are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the solvability of the Cauchy problem for functional differential equations with infinite delay in a Banach space X, which are more general than those in many previous publications. We undertake our study under suitable hypotheses based on noncompactness measures and Kamke-type functions, and in a general setting of admissible phase space P including the space Lp((−∞,0],X). Therefore, our results extend and unify many existing results for finite and infinite delay equations. As a sample of possible applications, we analyze the solvability of the Cauchy problem for a Schrödinger-type partial functional integro-differential equation in L1(R).

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a class of a fractional differential equation system of Riemann–Liouville type on infinite intervals with infinite-point boundary conditions. First, the higher-order equation is reduced to the lower-order equation, and then it is transformed into the equivalent integral equation. Secondly, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for each fixed parameter by using the mixed monotone operators fixed-point theorem. The results obtained in this paper show that the unique positive solution has good properties: continuity, monotonicity, iteration, and approximation. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the application of our main results.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence of positive almost automorphic solutions to some nonlinear delay integral equations. We first establish a new fixed point theorem for mixed monotone operator in a cone, and then, with its help, we obtain existence theorems of positive almost automorphic solutions. Some examples are given to illustrate our results. As one will see, even in the case of almost periodicity, our theorems extend some earlier results, and moreover, the approach dealing with the integral equation arising in an epidemic problem in this paper is also new.

Abstract:Bulletin of Mathematical Sciences, Ahead of Print. Due to the essential difficulty of establishing an appropriate variational framework on a suitable working space, how to apply the critical point theory for showing the existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions of continuous-time difference equations remains a completely open problem. New ideas including gluing arguments are introduced in this work to overcome such a difficulty. This enables us to employ the critical point theory to construct uncountably many periodic solutions for a class of superlinear continuous-time difference equations without assuming symmetry properties on the nonlinear terms. The obtained solutions are piecewise differentiable in some cases, distinguishing continuous-time difference equations from ordinary differential equations qualitatively. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time in the literature that the critical point theory has been used for such types of problems. Our work may open an avenue for studying discrete nonlinear systems with continuous time via the critical point theory.

Abstract:In this paper, first, we give a definition of Besicovitch almost periodic functions by using the Bohr property and the Bochner property, respectively; study some basic properties of Besicovitch almost periodic functions, including composition theorem; and prove the equivalence of the Bohr definition and the Bochner definition. Then, using the contraction fixed point theorem, we study the existence and uniqueness of Besicovitch almost periodic solutions for a class of abstract semi-linear delay differential equations. Even if the equation we consider degenerates into ordinary differential equations, our result is new.

Abstract:We first give a solution to a key problem concerning the completeness of the space of weighted pseudo almost-periodic functions and then establish a new composition theorem with respect to these functions. Some important remarks with concrete examples are also presented. Moreover, we prove an existence theorem for the weighted pseudo almost-periodic mild solution to the semilinear evolution equation: x′(t)=Ax(t)+f(t,x(t)), t∈ℝ, where A is the infinitesimal generator of an exponentially stable C0-semigroup. An application is also given to illustrate the abstract existence theorem.

Abstract:The aim of this work is to show the numerical approximation of random periodic solutions for path‐dependent stochastic differential equations with a finite and an infinite delay, in which the drifts are only dissipative on average with respect to the time parameter. The key findings are as follows: (i) by using a combination of synchronous coupling approaches and continuous‐time Euler–Maruyama schemes, we study the existence and uniqueness of numerical random periodic solutions to path‐dependent stochastic differential equations on an infinite time horizon; (ii) by introducing a new technical method, we investigate the strong convergence in the mean‐square sense of a numerical approximation to path‐dependent stochastic differential equations in the case of an infinite time horizon; (iii) to the best of our knowledge, our result is the first one upon numerical approximations of random periodic solutions for path‐dependent stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with infinite delay. We expect that our approximated method can be extended to a more general structure.

The main tool employed here is the Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem dealing with a sum of two mappings, one is a contraction and the other is completely continuous. We also prove the existence and uniqueness of an ultra-weak C(n)-almost periodic solution in the case when A(t)=A is independent of t. Finally we prove also the existence and uniqueness of a mild C(n)-almost periodic solution of the semilinear hyperbolic equation x′(t)=Ax(t)+f(t,x) considered in a Banach space, assuming f(t,x) is C(n)-almost periodic in t for each x∈X, satisfies a global Lipschitz condition and takes values in an extrapolation space FA−1 associated to A.
