Abstract:MXenes, the excellent pseudo-capacitive two-dimensional (2D) materials with outstanding electronic conductivity, are considered as the promising anode materials for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, it is still challenging to accelerate the sluggish kinetics of Na + caused by the severe self-stacking of MXenes. Herein, a highly stable sandwich-like structure is synthesized by introducing N-rich polymer network to control the interlayer space, improving the pseudo-capacitance of Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene. After modification, the N contents of Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene are increased to 21.63 at%. N-rich polymer network not only provides extra active sites for Na + storage, but also accelerates Na + transportation and charge transfer. Meanwhile, the N-rich network builds a stable structure with the aid of dense dynamic hydrogen-bonding network. As the anode for half-cell of SIBs, it shows excellent cycling performance of 148.4 mAh g -1 after 3000 cycles at 500 mA g -1 with capacity retention of 102.4% and 123.4 mAh g -1 after 5000 cycles at 1000 mA g -1 . The performance of full-cell based on the optimized composite anode and Na 3 V 2 (PO 4 ) 3 (NVP) cathode is superior to other MXene-based full-cell of SIBs. The stable sandwich-like structure emphasizes the advantages of polymers in the self-assembly of 2D materials for energy storage.
