Abstract:Let A be a bi-Koszul algebra. We describe all possible A∞-algebra structures on the Ext-algebra E(A) and prove that E(A) must be [m2,m3]-finitely generated. We give an equivalent description of the condition for a connected graded algebra to be a bi-Koszul algebra in the language of A∞-algebras. We discuss decomposition in the case that E(A) is endowed with minimal number of multiplications.

Abstract:The KSS nest is a sophisticated choice of puzzle pieces given in [Ann. of Math. 165 (2007), 749–841]. This nest, once combined with the KL-Lemma, has proven to be a powerful machinery, leading to several important advancements in the field of holomorphic dynamics. We give here a presentation of the KSS nest in terms of tableau. This is an effective language invented by Branner and Hubbard to deal with the complexity of the dynamics of puzzle pieces. We show, in a typical situation, how to make the combination between the KSS nest and the KL-Lemma. One consequence of this is the recently proved Branner–Hubbard conjecture. Our estimates here can be used to give an alternative proof of the rigidity property.

Abstract:Tangle-tree theorems are an important tool in structural graph theory, and abstract separation systems are a very general setting in which tangle-tree theorems can still be formulated and proven. For infinite abstract separation systems, so far tangle-tree theorems have only been shown for special cases of separation systems, in particular when the separation system arises from a (locally finite) infinite graph. We present a tangle-tree theorem for infinite separation systems where we do not place restrictions on the separation system itself but on the tangles to be arranged in a tree.

Abstract:R.P. Stanley defined a invariant for graphs called the chromatic symmetric function and conjectured it is complete invariant for trees. Miezaki et al. generalised the chromatic symmetric function and defined the Kneser chromatic functions denoted by $\{X_{K_{\mathbb{N},k}}\}_{k\in\mathbb{N}}$, and rephrase Stanley's conjecture that $X_{K_{\mathbb{N},1}}$ is a complete invariant for trees. This paper shows $X_{K_{\mathbb{N},2}}$ is a complete invariant for trees.

This means that there exists a spanning tree with at most k leaves. In this paper, we strengthen the Win theorem to the following: Let G be a simple 2-connected graph such that |V(G) | = 2? Abstract:In this paper we give an ordinal analysis of the theory of second order arithmetic. We do this by working with proof trees -- that is, "deductions" which may not be well-founded. Working in a suitable theory, we are able to represent functions on proof trees as yet further proof trees satisfying a suitable analog of well-foundedness. Iterating this process allows us to represent higher order functions as well: since functions on proof trees are just proof trees themselves, these functions can easily be extended to act on proof trees which are themselves understood as functions. The corresponding system of ordinals parallels this, using higher order collapsing function.

Abstract:A self-contained account of the theory of structure trees for edge cuts in networks is given. Applications include a generalisation of the Max-Flow Min-Cut Theorem to infinite networks and a short proof of a conjecture of Kropholler. This gives a relative version of Stallings' Theorem on the structure of groups with more than one end. A generalisation of the Almost Stability Theorem is also obtained, which provides information about the structure of the Sageev cubing.

Abstract:We investigate some versions of amoeba for tree-forcings in the generalized Cantor and Baire spaces. This answers [10, Question 3.20] and generalizes a line of research that in the standard case has been studied in [11], [13], and [7]. Moreover, we also answer questions posed in [3] by Friedman, Khomskii, and Kulikov, about the relationships between regularity properties at uncountable cardinals. We show $\Sigma_1^1$-counterexamples to some regularity properties related to trees without club splitting. In particular we prove a strong relationship between the Ramsey and the Baire properties, in slight contrast with the standard case.

Abstract:We say a finite poset $P$ is a tree poset if its Hasse diagram is a tree. Let $k$ be the length of the largest chain contained in $P$. We show that when $P$ is a fixed tree poset, the number of $P$-free set systems in $2^{[n]}$ is $2^{(1+o(1))(k-1){n \choose \lfloor n/2\rfloor}}$. The proof uses a generalization of a theorem by Boris Bukh together with a variation of the multiphase graph container algorithm.

Abstract:We construct a bijection between certain Deodhar components of a braid variety constructed from an affine Kac-Moody group of type $A_{n-1}$ and vertex-labeled trees on $n$ vertices. By an argument of Galashin, Lam, and Williams using Opdam's trace formula in the affine Hecke algebra and an identity due to Haglund, we obtain an elaborate new proof for the enumeration of the number of vertex-labeled trees on $n$ vertices.

Abstract:For a class K of finite graphs we consider the following three statements. (i) K has bounded tree-depth. (ii) First-order logic FO has an effective generalized quantifier elimination on K. (iii) The parameterized model checking for FO on K is in para-AC(0). We prove that (i) double right arrow(ii) and (ii) double left right arrow (iii). All three statements are equivalent if K is closed under taking subgraphs, but not in general. By a result due to Elberfeld et al. [12] monadic second-order logic MSO and FO have the same expressive power on every class of graphs of bounded tree-depth. Hence the implication (i) double right arrow(iii) holds for MSO, too; it is the analogue of Courcelle's Theorem for tree-depth (instead of tree-width) and para-AC(0) (instead of FPT). In [13] it was already shown that the model-checking for a fixed MSO-property on a class of graphs of bounded tree-depth is in AC(0).

This implies the following three tree theorem: the arboricity of a discrete 2-sphere is 3. Moreover, the three trees can be chosen so that each hits every triangle. A consequence is a result of an exercise in the book of Bondy and Murty based on work of A. Frank, A. Gyarfas and C. Nash-Williams: the arboricity of a planar graph is less or equal than 3.

Abstract:The problem of counting spanning trees of graphs or networks is a fundamental and crucial area of research in combinatorics, while has numerous important applications in statistical physics, network theory and theoretical computer science. Very recently, Kosar, Zaman, Ali and Ullah obtained a nice formula on the number of spanning trees of a K 5 -chain network K 5 l constructed by connecting l copys of complete graphs K 5 . They made extensive use of matrix theory and spectral graph theory, especially the normalized Laplacian of graphs. In this paper, by using a rather simple and more physical treatment (the mesh-star transformation in electrical network) without any linear algebra, we generalize their result to K n -chain graphs and -ring graphs. The results show that there is a simple relation between the number of spanning trees of the K n -chain graph L n l and the K n -ring graph C n l . We also calculate the corresponding tree entropy (or so called "the asymptotic growth constant'') and find that the tree entropy of the corresponding K n -chain graphs and K n -ring graphs are totally the same.
