Abstract:In this paper,a new species of the genus Polyamia DeLong,Polyamia acicularis sp.nov.is described from China.Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology,Guizhou University,Guiyang,China.Polyamia acicularis sp.nov.(Fig.1)The new species is similar to Polyamia penistenuis Zhang et Duan,but it can be distinguished from the latter in having the aedeagus shaft long and narrow apically,needle-like,with the gonopore apical;style apical curved slender and arm long.Length of body(including tegmen)♂3.9 mm.Holotype ♂,Jiangxi Jiulianshan(114.28°E,24.33°N,altitude 600 m),19-Ⅶ-2008,collected by MENG Ze-hong.Etymology:From acicular-(Latin for needle),the specific epithet refers to the aedeagus shaft being needle-like.
