Abstract:In order to solve the technical problems in blasting construction of the Tuwu Copper mine,such as high boulder yield,slope safety,loss and dilution ratio,an optimized solution was put forward by using deep-hole controlled explosion,including rational blast parameters,interval charging,appropriate explosive materials,hole by hole firing,slope control blasting technology,separate drilling and separate initiating in the process of construction,weak loose blasting.Finally,good blasting effect was achieved in actual mining by using this scheme.

Abstract:Drilling and blasting technology is one of the main methods for pressure relief in deep mining. The traditional method for blasting hole blockage with clay stemming has many problems, which include a large volume of transportation, excess loading time, and high labor intensity. An environmentally friendly blast hole plug was designed and developed. This method is cheap, closely blocks the hole, is quickly loaded, and is convenient for transportation. The impact test on the plug was carried out using an improved split Hopkinson pressure bar test system, and the industrial test was carried out in underground tunnel of coal mine. The tests results showed that, compared with clay stemming, the new method proposed in this paper could prolong the action time of the detonation gas, prevent premature detonation gas emissions, reduce the unit consumption of explosives, improve the utilization ratio, reduce the labor intensity of workers, and improve the effect of rock blasting with low cost of rock breaking.

Abstract:The number of excavated tunnels is increasing day by day, and the corresponding engineering scale is also getting increasing. Safe, efficient, and economically beneficial tunnel construction methods are indispensable in the process of crossing mountains and steep ridges in the southwest region. However, behind the improvement of transportation infrastructure in Southwest China is the support provided by the rapid development of blasting industry engineering technology in China. In the process of tunnel construction using the drilling and blasting method, in addition to blasting vibration disasters the phenomenon of overbreak and underbreak caused by blasting construction is a prominent problem. This phenomenon not only affects the safety and stability of the tunnel excavation but also seriously increases the construction cost. Based on a short mountain hard rock tunnel project in southwest China, this paper studies the effect of blasting construction on the blasting vibration of adjacent structures and the influence of tunnel contour forming quality. Through the monitoring and analysis of in situ blasting vibration, the Sadowski formula is used to study the attenuation law of blasting vibration velocity in different tunnel sites, which provides a theoretical basis for tunnel blasting vibration control. This article compares the use of overbreak and underbreak value with the traditional method to determine the degree of overbreak and underbreak. It introduces the analysis of contour section fractal dimension value and uses fractal theory in the Python image processing module to accurately and quantitatively describe the problems of tunnel overbreak and underbreak. The feasibility and accuracy of this method have been verified, by combining the total station and 3D laser scanner results of overbreak and underbreak measurements of the Brenner Base Tunnel and a short hard rock tunnel in a mountainous area of southwestern China. The blasting scheme was optimized from the aspects of cut hole form, detonator interval time, and peripheral hole charge structure, and the rationality of the optimized scheme was verified according to the on-site blasting experiments. It has a profound influence on strengthening the protection of adjacent tunnel structures and improving the economic benefit of mountain highway projects.

Abstract:Surface coal mining procedures include piercing—blasting—mining and loading—transportation—discharging, blasting link exists due to the poor blasting effect leads to low loading efficiency, blasting dust caused by environmental pollution and other problems. In this paper, from the mechanical characteristics of the water medium, we analyze in detail the transferring effect, transducing effect and bubble pulsation phenomenon of the water medium in the blasting process. The results show that when the blasting medium is water medium, the maximum principal stress is 1.53 times that of air medium; the peak energy transfer can be up to 2.73 times that of air medium. With the help of TrueGrid/LS-DYNA finite element analysis software to simulate the dynamic process of blasting, the study of the maximum principal stresses around the hole, the top of the slope, the foot of the slope on the maximum principal stress changes, the results show that the maximum principal stresses around the hole, the top of the slope, the foot of the slope unit with the increase in the water content is gradually increasing trend. Finally, combined with the actual mine production conditions for blasting field test, water-mediated blasting dust reduction rate of 75%, the use of AHP—fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method of two groups of traditional dry hole blasting and three groups of water-mediated blasting comprehensive evaluation, the results show that the water-mediated blasting scores are higher than the traditional dry hole blasting, proving that the water-mediated blasting has a certain prospect of engineering applications.

Abstract:Overburden strata movement in large space stope is the major reason that induces the appearance of strong mining pressure. Presplitting blasting for hard coal rocks is crucial for the prevention and control of strong pressure in stope. In this study, pressured water coupling blasting technique was proposed. The process and effect of blasting were analyzed by orthogonal test and field practice. Results showed that the presence of pressure-bearing water and explosive cartridges in the drill are the main influence factors of the blasting effect of cement test block. The high load-transmitting performance of pore water and energy accumulation in explosive cartridges were analyzed. Noxious substances produced during the blasting process were properly controlled because of the moistening, cooling, and diluting effect of pore water. Not only the goal of safe and static rock fragmentation by high-explosive detonation but also a combination of superdynamic blast loading and static loading effect of the pressured water was achieved. Then the practice of blasting control of hard coal rocks in Datong coal mine was analyzed to determine reasonable parameters of pressured water coupling blasting. A good presplitting blasting control effect was achieved for the hard coal rocks.

Abstract:This article illustrates the differences between hydraulic blasting and conventional blasting: two additional processes of installation of water bag and stemming.The related application tests have been done in Taihangshan Tunnel of South-Central Railway Project in Shanxi and Dongfeng Tunnel of Yunnan-Guangxi Railway Project in Yunnan.It is improved that hydraulic blasting technique in tunneling have some advantages in explosive energy utilization,tunneling footage,economic effectiveness,dust diminution and environmental protection.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the economy and society, the demand for mineral resources and energy has increased rapidly. However, it is difficult to improve the efficiency of blasting construction and control the stability of the surrounding rock in deep underground engineering. In this study, the deep underground tunnel of the Tianchi pumped-storage hydropower station in China was considered as the engineering background. Based on the stress redistribution state of the surrounding rock after blasting excavation, the crack propagation effect and dynamic response of the surrounding rock under different controlled blasting methods were studied through theoretical analyses, numerical simulations and in situ tests. The mechanism of directional crack formation was analysed by considering the influence of hole spacing and in situ stress. It was shown that the initial ground stress was conducive to the propagation of the blasting crack in the contour hole of smooth blasting towards the direction line of the blast hole. The test results showed that using controlled shaped-charge blasting methods in the blasting excavation of underground tunnels can improve the utilisation rate of explosives, reduce blasting vibration and achieve a significant effect on directional crack formation. The research results have important engineering significance as they can lead to improvements in the blasting technique, a contour-forming effect of the blasting excavation and control of the stability of the surrounding rock.

Abstract:The advance method of drilling and blasting with small hole and minor cycle was used in most of domestic colliery stone drift advancement,for the low work efficiency,which directly influences the progress of rock drift advancement and productions.Combined with the technology of dual-purpose for one hole,the new technique of parallel cut blasting with super long and large empty drilling blasthole was put forward firstly.The tests proved that this technology has economic and technological benefits,which can be applied to the coal mine in our country.

Abstract:The large structure parameter of a sublevel caving method was used in Beiminghe iron mine. The ores were generally lower than the medium hardness and easy to be drilled and blasted. However, the questions of boulder yield, “pushing-wall” accident rate, and brow damage rate were not effectively controlled in practical blasting. The model test of a similar material shows that the charge concentration of bottom blastholes in the sector is too high; the pushing wall is the fundamental reason for the poor blasting effect. One of the main methods to adjust the explosive distribution is to increase the length of charged blastholes. Therefore, the field tests with respect to increasing the length of uncharged blastholes were made in 12# stope of −95 subsection and 6# stope of Beiminghe iron mine. This paper took the test result of 12# stope as an example to analyze the impact of charge structure on blasting effect and design an appropriate blasting parameter that is to similar to No.12 stope.

Abstract:For formation of a better quality rock bench in the blasting excavation of an underground workshop's rock anchor crane beam for the Jingping Secondary Hydropower Station,optimization of drilling and blasting parameters as well as the charging constitution was carried out through extensive comparative tests with different schemes and blasting vibration monitoring.The results indicate that the blasting effect of 30 cm hole spacing is better than that of 40 cm hole spacing.Furthermore,the coupling coefficient of 30 cm hole spacing is also greater than that of 40 cm hole spacing.Therefore,an increased coupling coefficient could lead to a smoother rock surface and less damage induced by the blasting vibration.

Abstract:Underground mining is applyed in ninety-five percent of coal mine in China,and average percentage recovery of coal is no more than forty percent,in result,a mass of coal is thrown away and causes increasingly short supply of coal resource in China.In order to solved this problem,opencast working is using instead of underground working for the first time so as to improve the percentage recovery in Dafeng Coal Mine of Ningxia Coal Industry Group Co Ltd.Here by analyse and experiment research,the problem about blasting construction of coal mine with fire and high temperature is solved,and the technique is successed in chamber blasting at upside lever of Yangci Mining Section in Dafeng Coal Mine.It is proved,the chamber blasting is the feasible method for opencast working instead of underground working in mining.

Abstract:In this research, a directional reduction charging structure was proposed to solve the problems caused by drilling and blasting method such as serious damage to surrounding rocks, working face low contour flatness and serious over-under break of root base c. Drilling and blasting tests, numerical calculations and field applications were designed and performed for the verification of the blasting advantages of charge structure. Test results showed that the peak positive strain along the protection direction of directional protection shaped charge was significantly smaller than that of ordinary charge, where PVC material presented the strongest effect such that the peak positive strain of specimen 1 at measuring point 4 (protection direction) was only 0.27 times that at measuring point 9 (non-protected direction). Numerical simulations indicated shaped jet formation, damage-reduction and charge penetration process and obtained the force law of cement target plate. Experimental results revealed that application of charge in tunnel controlled blasting achieved a clear controlling effect on contour line excavation. Compared with ordinary smooth blasting method, all technical indicators of the developed method were improved such that half hole mark rate was increased by about 33% and the amount of over-under break was decreased by about two times. Research results are of certain significance for the stability of surrounding reserved rocks and formation of roadway in blasting engineering and the developed method was found to be applicable to mining, shaft excavation and other projects.
A new excavation technology of blasting combined with TBM

Abstract:The technical feasibility of drilling and blasting or TBM excavation method is the key to determine the underground engineering. In view of the high strength, high abrasiveness and good integrity of hard rock in site, and considering the damage of surrounding rock must be controlled within a reasonable range, the blasting combined with TBM method has been proposed here. While the combined method has been further carried out in Water Supply Project in Jilin to assess and evaluate it, which including single-hole blasting, five-hole blasting, eleven-hole blasting and blasting combined with TBM tests. It is found that some certain blasting tests is useful and essential to the combined method, as it can provide the blasting parameters designed for the combined method. The blasting of multi-hole simultaneous initiation with interval charge structure should be adopted strictly. Meantime, one roll of explosive in each blasting hole can produce obvious blasting phenomenon. Simultaneously, by means of vibration monitoring, borehole TV observation and sound wave measurement, it can be judged that the damaged degree is rather small. After pre-blasting, the average speed of TBM driving is 17.41 mm/min, increased by 42.3% than that of the previous cycle. It shows that the new method not only achieves a relative efficient excavation, but also rock damage has been controlled. Moreover, the shortcomings of low speed and high tool wear of TBM excavation in hard rock could be avoided and the excavation efficiency could be improved using the combined method. Therefore, it seems to be a practical technology, which can play full advantages of each existed method, while can avoid the defects of themselves. However, this new excavation technology needs further confirmation through more engineering verification. The results obtained in this paper have guiding significance and promising application in the underground excavation and other civil engineering.

Abstract:Aiming at the merits and demerits,limitations of local countermeasures against outbursts,the technique of controlled stress relaxation blast in deep hole,which combines the merits of loosen blasting and large diameter bored blasting,was studied.The effect of control holes of the blasting method was analyzed theoretically and the blasting mechanism of it was discussed and tested by lab and in field.The results of field test show that the method has an obvious effect,simple and convenient technology,high economic returns and high adaptability and security.The technique of controlled stress relaxation blast in deep-hole is a good local countermeasure against outburst,which has a promising prospect and is easy to be extended and applied.

Abstract:Deep-hole bench blasting is the primary method for aggregate extraction in mines. However, factors such as complex geological conditions and suboptimal blasting parameters often result in uneven rock fragmentation and high fines content. This not only increases the cost and energy consumption of subsequent aggregate processing but also has adverse environmental implications. In this study, based on the Changjiu Shenshan limestone aggregate mining project in China, large-scale blasting experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of rock properties and blasting parameters on the size distribution of post-blast fragments and fines content. The results of the blasting experiments indicate that by controlling the size of the crushing zone and adjusting explosive performance, it is possible to significantly reduce fines content while improving mining efficiency. Recommended values for drilling and blasting parameters have been proposed based on geological conditions to more effectively control the generation of fines. The results highlight the importance of optimizing blasting parameters and charge structure for large-scale mining operations to achieve uniform rock fragmentation and low fines content. By adopting explosive performance adjustment methods based on reasonable control of the crushing zone, improving explosive performance can improve the economic benefits of mining operations, reduce energy consumption, and contribute to environmental protection.

Abstract:A quantitative evaluation method is used to monitor the extraction effect of four test holes in a field test conducted at Ping Coal Mine 10. The results indicate that, after adopting in situ downhole repair technology in the early stage of extraction, the average air leakage of Borehole No. 4, which failed due to air leakage in the borehole, decreased from 9.33 to 1.26 L/min (a reduction of 86.5%). Similarly, that of Borehole No. 3, which failed due to penetration of fissures in the surrounding rock, had an air leakage drop from 8.35 to 1.34 L/min (a reduction of 84.0%). These improvements demonstrate the remarkable effectiveness of the method. The quantitative evaluation method established in this study is not only simple to operate but also stable and reliable. In this study, a new method is proposed to quantitatively determine the extraction of boreholes under the effect of time. The main purpose of this method is to divide the gas drilling holes in the monitoring time into two stages: the early stage of extraction and the middle stage of extraction. The early stage of extraction uses the gas pressure difference to detect the gas tightness of the drilling holes and determine the type of gas leakage of the drilling holes. Moreover, the unqualified drilling holes are repaired immediately to ensure that all the drilling holes in the middle stage of the monitoring are the qualified holes at the early stage of the inspection. In the middle of extraction, the average attenuation rate of the fitting attenuation curve of pure gas extraction in the extraction borehole is calculated by monitoring, the growth rate of the linear fitting of the pure air leakage is calculated, and their ratios are used as the basis for judging the repair value of the gas leak borehole and the gas leak borehole.
