Abstract:This paper summarized the analysis technology of inkjet materials at home and abroad,including analysis of coating composition and characterization of surface structure of the coating.The coating composition was analyzed by infrared reflection-absorption spectrum(IRAS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and the surface characteristics were observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and atomic force microscope(AFM).In addition,the methods of quality evaluation of product were reviewed,including whiteness,glossiness,color density,gamut,image definition,water fastness and light fastness.These methods would provide target selections for the final applications because only excellent inkjet materials would be received and applied by more consumers.The advantages and disadvantages of the analysis technology of inkjet materials and the methods of quality evaluation of product were summarized.

Abstract:The absorption structure,the preparation methods,the performance evaluation and other research directions of the color ink jet recording material are introduced.In the discussion of the preparation and structure of the ink absorption layer,this article focused on selection and application of a variety of the advanced pigments,and discussed the choice of adhesives and additives.The main performance evaluation of the ink absorption is proposed,including the absorption performance,the image resolution,the gloss,the preservation of the image,etc.The effects of various factors on ink absorption properties are analyzed systematically,and the development directions and research prospect of color ink-jet recording materials at home and abroad is presented.

Abstract:Aimed at improving ink absorption of inkjet materials currently available, this paper describes the preparation of nano-inkjet materials by combination of the physical and chemical methods and the analysis of the surface microstructure of materials by atomic force microscope (AFM) and chromatic aberration by Spectrophotometer. The results indicate that coated colloid with the adhesion inkjet material shows a strength greater than uncoated colloid and exhibits more evenly ink-absorption layer. The analysis of the influence of coatings thickness coated colloid on properties of inkjet material finds changes in the surface microstructure and coating amount of inkjet materials due to varying coating thickness. The coat- ing thickness exerts a remarkable the effect on print quality. A 50 μm thickness produces the best com- prehensive properties.

Abstract:Preparation of recording coating on inkjet printing (RC-IJP) media was proposed. The microstructure and roughness of RC-IJP was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM). The surface infiltration process of RC-IJP was studied by a liquid infiltration instrument. The distribution of C, O and Si composites on recording coating surface is analyzed by energy dispersive spectrum (EDS). The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis showed that the nanoscale silica could be dissolved uniformly in water. Finally, the print color is shown clearly by the preparative recording coating.

Abstract:Inkjet printing has become a prevailing printing technology due to its practicability and rapidity. The color inkjet printing as one of the inkjet printing has color comprehensive and high clarity compared with traditional printing. The key point of the color inkjet printing is the introducing of special recording layer which has great influence on the printing quality. However, the printing quality of the color inkjet printing depends on the compositions and performance of the recording layer and the infiltration behavior between the ink and the recording layer. Specially, the theoretical study of the infiltration behavior between the ink and the recording layer is the key to guiding the structural design. In this review, the types and compositions of the recording layer were clearly analyzed, the process and evaluation methods of ink infiltration and the performance evaluation system of the recording layer were also summarized. Ultimately, the current bottleneck and the development trend of the recording layer were put forward.

Abstract:The work aims to review the current research achievements and development trend of nano-coating on the substrate for ink-jet printing. The composition, curing mechanism, physico-chemical properties and optical performance of nano-coating on the surface for ink-jet printing were introduced based on the research achievements of surface nano-coating at home and abroad in recent years. Furthermore, the development trend and challenge of nano-coating for ink-jet printing were summarized and analyzed. The surface nano-coating could change the physical structure and chemical composition of surfaces of the material and its products. In the process of ink-jet printing, the quality of nano-coating on the surface of substrate for ink-jet printing directly affected the quality of prints. The discussion of performance, research status, development trend, challenge and other aspects of the nano-coating for ink-jet printing herein provided suggestions on the relevant researches and applications of nano-coating for ink-jet printing. Inkjet printing, as a typical digital imaging technology, can achieve the products with personalized and diversified images. To obtain perfectly reproduced product, the chemical composition or physical structure of the substrate surface should be optimized. The surface composition and organizational structure of the material and its products can be changed by the technology of surface coating. Therefore, it is significant to study the nano-coating on the surface of substrate for ink-jet printing.

Abstract:SiO_2,three type of cation polymer modified SiO_2,calcium carbonate and kaolin were used respectively to prepare high gloss ink-jet printing materials,and their influences on the sharpness of separation and gloss was also discussed.In addition,the influence of the diameter of pigment,which was the cation polymer modified nano-SiO_2,on the gloss and ink drytime was investigated.Suitable cation polymer modified SiO_2 with 80 nm diameter could form ink-jet materials with high gloss and short ink drying time.

Abstract:Taking water-based ink as the main object of study, the glossiness influence factors were analyzed systematically. And through experiments the relationship between glossiness and its influence factors were tested. Experiments find that the stable dispersion of the water- based ink can help to improve glossiness; The amount of the water and additives in the water based ink, and ink film thickness may also have some affection to the glossiness; The glossiness is best at pH about 9.0-9.5. The research work and its conclusion has great consultive value and instructive significance.

Abstract:Preparation of the recording coating on the ink jet printing (RC-IJP) is proposed. The microstructure of RC-IJP was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscope. The surface infiltration process of RC-IJP was studied. Fourier transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) spectra showed the combination and overtone vibrations information of the hydrogen-containing groups in RC-IJP structure. NIR spectra combined with partial least-squares methods were proposed for the noncontact analysis of the surface infiltration time and weight per unit area in RC-IJP. Forty-five samples were selected for the calibration sets of the surface infiltration time and weight per unit area, respectively. Spectral pretreatment method was used to develop robust calibration models. After the spectral pretreatment was optimized, the determination coefficient (R(2)) of the surface infiltration time and weight per unit area were 0.90 and 0.97, respectively. The analytical results showed that NIR spectra had significant potential for the analysis of the surface infiltration time and weight per unit area of RC-IJP.

Abstract:As a functional decorative material on the surface of printing and packaging, coating plays the role of increasing gloss, wear resistance, and antifouling. It has broad application prospects in high-end printed materials such as posters, art reproductions, and maps. In this paper, dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate was used as the fluorine-containing monomer, which was used to modify the epoxy resin and introduce fluoride first. Under the action of polymerization inhibitor and catalyst, the epoxy resin was further modified by ring opening, esterification, and neutralization with acrylic acid, maleic anhydride, and organic base as raw materials. Additionally, a fluorine-containing coating with hydrophobic and oleophobic properties was obtained finally. The effects of fluorine modification of epoxy resin and synthetic polymer were characterized by infrared spectrometer and photoelectron spectroscopy. The results showed that fluorine monomer could be successfully grafted to the molecular body of epoxy resin, and fluorine had been introduced into the surface of the polymer film. Using the contact angle tester, combined with the performance parameters such as grafting rate, thermal stability, adhesion, and gloss, the effects of the amount of fluorine monomer on the properties of the synthetic coating were discussed. The results showed that the hydrophobic and oleophobic properties of the copolymer film surface were closely related to the amount of fluorine monomer. When the molar ratio of the epoxy group to dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate was 26:1, the mass fraction of fluorine on the film surface was 18.09%, and the contact angles of water and ethylene glycol were 121.8° and 78.2° respectively. At the same time, the printability of self-made hydrophobic and oleophobic coating was tested in this paper. The liquid repellency of inkjet printing before and after glazing and the influence of the coating on the optical properties of printed images were discussed and studied too. The results showed that the coating synthesized by the experiment was suitable for inkjet printing. It had improved the printing quality performance and the functional modification on the surface of inkjet printings, such as liquid repellency, gloss, and color reproduction.

Abstract:Different thickness of inkjet materials was prepared. The surface properties were investigated by AFM. The results indicated that the surface roughness was changed with thickness. Print quality was analyzed by the chromatic aberration. The result indicated that the influence of the thickness on print quality is remarkable. When the thickness is 50um, the comprehensive properties are the best.

Abstract:Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in the performance of ink formulations caused by the addition of compounds that improve the ink’s physical properties to achieve an optimum formulation for inkjet printing, because of the importance and simplicity of this method. Design/methodology/approach Ink samples were formulated using Acid Red 14 as ink colorant, different percentages of polymeric compounds including polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinylpyrrolidone and Carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) as viscosity modifier compounds and surfactant as the surface tension enhancer. Formulated samples were adjusted in terms of fluid physical properties e.g. viscosity, density and surface tension, and the effect of used compounds on the improvement of both physical and colorimetric properties such as viscosity, surface tension, colorimetric coordinates and lightfastness has been evaluated to achieve the optimum printing inks to be printed on three different substrates. Findings The experimental observations showed that CMC was the most compatible compound as the viscosity modifier as its viscosity value was in the printable range of 2–22 cP. Moreover, a flow-curve test was applied to the ink samples and their Newtonian behavior was approved. Based on the spectrophotometric test results of printed samples, the samples containing PVA provided acceptable lightfastness in comparison to other ink samples on every used substrate. Originality/value An optimum relation between colorimetric coordinates of the printed samples and ink formulation could be considered and achieved.

Abstract:On the basis of cooked rice paper coated with a good ink-absorbing and no ink paint, the advanced calligraphy paper uses cooked rice paper as the body paper. This thesis sets styrene-acrylic emulsion as binder, porcelain clay and zinc oxide as pigments. Firstly, it discusses effect on the performance of senior calligraphy paper writing caused by the two kinds of pigment preparation in different proportion and adhesion-filling ratio of different coating. Secondly, it implores the impact of different coatings on paper performance, such as tear, tensile strength, smoothness, and gloss. The result shows that when the styrene acrylic emulsion used as binder, ink absorption increased gradually with the increase of adhesion-filling ratio; tear, tension and gloss increased with the increase of clay and the decrease of zinc oxide, the decrease of smoothness; when the porcelain clay: zinc oxide is 2:3 and adhesion-filling ratio is 1:4.5, the whiteness, smoothness, and gloss of the Xuan paper are significantly enhanced after coating of the sample. The ink is not scattered during writing, the lines are neat, delicate, unbreakable, no ink paint, dense and bright surface, and with good writing performance.

Abstract:In order to improve the ink absorption of inkjet materials,the SiO2@Al13 core-shell structure materials are used as pigment to prepare inkjet printing materials.The viscosity cup and colorimeter is used for test.From the aspects of coating viscosity,coating weight,printing effect of coating and chromatic aberration,the effect of pigment content on ink absorption material is discussed.The results indicate that the pigment content has re markable effect on the performance of ink absorption material.It is favorable for absorbing ink by increasing the content of pigment,but the content should not be too high.When the proportion of the pigment is 75%,the material has outstanding performance.

Abstract:In the offset printing process, the amount of ink supplying of fountain directly affects plate ink thickness, thereby affecting the color quality on the printed sheet. Ink layer thickness is difficult to judge by human eye, but we can regulate the ink thickness by detecting the color saturation. This paper describes using complex spectrum spectrometer measured data ink layer thickness and color saturation, draw two graphs of complex spectrum saturation and CIE saturation. Due to the different definitions of saturation, Cause their sensitivity of layer thickness changes response different. Two sets of data shows that the complex spectrum saturation contrast ΔS1 significantly higher than CIE saturation contrast. The data also showed that the ink color performance in terms of the relationship between layer thickness and saturation has an inflection point, the inflection point in the ink film thickness about 4μm, after reaching inflection point, even if the ink layer thickness continues to increase, there will be no significant changes in the saturation.

Abstract:Linen fabric as a natural fiber is one of the most popular textile products globally due to its excellent moisture absorption, antistatic, and antibacterial characteristics. However, it is still challenging to improve the color strength and utilization rate of reactive dye inks for printed linen fabrics. Herein, we proposed a polymer treatment agent to construct a new surface on linen fabric through a padding process, containing hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and urea. Then the fabric inkjet-printed with reactive dye inks. The results indicated that the HEC treated inkjet-printed linen fabric produced a higher performance with a satisfying fixation rate, more in-depth, and brighter color effect than sodium alginate (SA) treatment. SEM, wettability analysis, XPS and FTIR results revealed that the HEC treatment agent formed a film structure of the fabric to creat new surfaces with more hydrophobic of 46.5° contact angle and 0.9 s wetting time. XRD demonstrated no significant effect of HEC treatment on the aggregate structure of linen fiber. Also, the printed linen fabrics exhibited a satisfying color fastness and breaking strength.

Abstract:Benefiting its high reactivity with natural fabrics, vinyl sulfone reactive dyes have the advantage of obtaining good color fixation and high exhaustion rates under medium or low temperatures. Although these dyes were widely applied in traditional dyeing processes, little research has been conducted on vinyl sulfone dye-based inks for digital inkjet printing. Hence, we explore an efficient and environmental-friendly ink system for inkjet printing on natural fabrics. In this work, three vinyl sulfone reactive dyes including reactive orange 131 (O-131), reactive red AS (R-AS), and reactive blue 203 (B-203) were selected to simulate the stable structure of the dye molecules in aqueous solution by GAUSSIAN 09 package based on density functional theory (DFT). On this basis, the physicochemical properties of the inks were studied and the color fastness and apparent color depth values of cotton, linen, and silk inkjet printed fabrics were tested. As a result, compared to O-131 and B-203, the monomer molecular content of R-AS dye solutions was significantly reduced and displayed a strong tendency to aggregate. The surface tensions of three inks decreased with increasing concentrations and the degree of molecular aggregation. The rheological properties of the dye solutions were correlated with concentration and molecular weight. At the same concentrations, B-203 had the largest molecular weight and the solution exhibited the largest viscosity. The printed fabrics all possessed good color quality and color fastness, and printed silk fabric displayed higher color depth than cotton and linen fabrics. This work provided a cleaner and cost-effective ink for inkjet printing on natural fabrics by exploring the properties of vinyl sulfone reactive dye-based inks.
