In science measurement, it introduces GUM supplement and VIM revision. In industry measurement, it provides a comparison of 2000 edition ISO10012 with 1994 edition ISO10012. In legal measurement, it introduces the points that measurement law tends to revise.

Abstract:In recent years, more and more new medical devices appears, among them there are many measurement instruments related to consistency and stability of value, and safety to device. Presently China is facing the health policy reforms and medical quantity management system establishment. The primary duty of the clinical engineering is to ensure security and validity of medical devices, and preventing maintenance included of measurement and safety is important measure for the duty. The paper overviews the status in medical metrology and challenge for health policy reform in China, and gives some suggestions to resolve medical metrology.

Abstract:A lot of new problems in measurement and metrologica are aroused by the fast development of current manufacture technology,which promotes the research and development of sensors and instruments for measuring and metrologica and urges the coming out of new principles,new technologies,new equipments.Compared with traditional measuring technologies,in the modern measuring and metrological technologies such as portable pattern measurement,online detection based on machine vision,online testing and monitoring based on robots,micron/ nanometer level measurement and virtual instruments,more important roles are played by measuring instruments,and new instruments keeps coming out.Except that,the precision of instruments and equipments gets a substantial improvement,the automatic degree of instruments gets a remarkable promotion,and at the same time,the function of instruments gets extremely extended.All these portray a flourishing view.The urgent affaire currently is according to the features of measuring,metrologica technologies to analyze the situation of testing and measuring technologies in our nation,get a clear view of the gap with the same kind of technologies overseas,and then discuss the emphasis and tendency of development.In the future development of measuring,metrologica and instrument technologies,if aiming at the practical problems and development trend,invest in scientific researches is increased,fundamental researches are emphasized,engineering application is closely involved,the measuring and metrologica technologies in our nation is believed to be fast developing,and play greater roles in developing the scientific technologies and national economy.

Abstract:the paper detailed overview the principle of the spectroscopic reflectometry spectrum and the spectroscopic ellipscometry. Abstract:This study investigates the applicability of Metrology 4.0 (M4.0) technologies for manufacturing industries (MIs). The study employed a mixed-methods design whereby sixty MIs participated fully. The convergent parallel design was employed to collect, analyse, and integrate qualitative and quantitative data and results simultaneously. Minitab® version 21, Microsoft® Excel 2016, and SPSS® software collaboratively performed inferential and descriptive analyses. The results indicate a high level of awareness within MIs. MIs have implemented M4.0-related operations at the preliminary stage. Regarding the general M4.0, respondents are very unsatisfied with how their enterprises apply the metrological-related technologies by 6.65%, unsatisfied (23.33%), satisfied (56.67%), and very satisfied (13.33%). Respondents are very satisfied with how their enterprises undertake metrological activities (operations) by 16.67%, satisfied (26.67%), unsatisfied (33.33%), and very unsatisfied (23.33%). Despite these findings, the readiness level was 3.0 out of 5.0. There is room for transiting Metrology 3.0 to M4.0, thus requiring the transition framework. M4.0 can influence accruing benefits and motivations: pattern approval in metrology, improving standardisation, digitalise traceability, argument human intelligence, product improvement, managing measurement uncertainty, enhancing digital accreditation, assisting with a virtual inspection, automating quality checks, verification enabling, assisting predictive and data analysis, speeding up calibration, and assist in decision-making.

Abstract:The use of non-contact scanning equipment in metrology and in dimensional and geometric inspection applications is increasing due to its ease of use, the speed and density of scans, and the current costs. In fact, these technologies are becoming increasingly dominant in the industrial environment, thus moving from reverse engineering applications to metrological applications. However, this planned transfer requires actions to ensure the achievable accuracy by providing traceability of measurements. In the present study, a comparison between the devices is carried out and a specific standard artefact is designed, equipped with multiple ceramic optically friendly entities, and allowing a wide variety of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Four different 3D scanning sensors are used in the experimentation. Three of them are based on laser triangulation, and the fourth is a structured blue light sensor (fringe pattern projection). The standard artefact is calibrated with a high accuracy, using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and probing sensors. With this CMM, reference values of multiple predefined GD&T are obtained. The evaluation methodology maximises the accuracy of each device in measuring the dimensions of the artefact due to the good dimensional (milling and turning), surface (control of machining variables), and the dimensional and spatial distribution characteristics. The procedure also includes the same treatment of the captured point clouds (trimming, filtering, and best-fit algorithm, etc.) in each of the four 3D scanning sensors considered. From this process, very reliable measurements of the maximum achievable accuracy of each device (deviations from the CMM measurements) are finally obtained, and a multi-characteristic comparison between the four sensors is performed, also with high reliability.

Abstract:This special issue derived from 12th CIRP Conference on Computer Aided Tolerancing CIRP CAT 2012, which brought scientists and engineers together over a wide range of disciplines highlighting the critically important connections between Geometrical Products Design and their Measurement. The technical progress in this area has been driven primarily by the need to make manufacturing more efficient and economic while at the same time optimizing performance. The trend of global manufacturing, along with the emergence of computer-aided technologies, urges a more rigorous and systematic technical language to characterize geometrical products throughout the product supply chain. This involves exploring various scientific fundaments for new applications in the geometrical products specification and verification (GPS) system. One important aspect of this special issue highlights is continuing effort in understanding fundamental concepts, theory and models in the GPS system, in applying them to optimize tolerance models with functional performance and reduced cost, and in improving them to accelerate the maturation and applications in the GPS system. Another aspect of the publication is to tackle measurement and calibration problems in nanotechnology and macro metrology. A series of novel techniques have been devoted to improve measurement accuracy, stability and traceability. It is hoped the functionality of geometrical products can benefit from these improved techniques. The exposure of these new techniques in this special issue is expected to open a new door for advanced manufacturing in a global context, as well as to identify the development directions for future Computer-Aided Tolerancing.
