Abstract:From the viewpoint of algebra,three generalized inverses based on ｛2｝-inverse are studied in this paper.The three generalized inverses are: ｛2,3｝-inverse,｛2,4｝-inverse and ｛2,3,4｝-inverse.The paper shows their some geometric properties and algebraic constructions,complementing the research of generalized inverses.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate inclusion properties in a ∗-ring. It is proven that for two [Formula: see text]-invertible elements [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] in a ∗-ring, [Formula: see text] if and only if [Formula: see text]. For two [Formula: see text]-invertible elements [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] if and only if [Formula: see text]. Moreover, we give a characterization of [Formula: see text]-inverses, and the absorption law for [Formula: see text]-inverses is studied.

Abstract:We introduce and study a new class of generalized inverses in rings. An element a in a ring R has generalized Zhou inverse if there exists <math>b∈R</math> such that <math>bab=b,b∈comm2(a),an−ab∈J(R)</math> for some <math>n∈N.</math> We prove that <math>a∈R</math> has generalized Zhou inverse if and only if there exists <math>p=p2∈comm2(a)</math> such that <math>an−p∈J(R)</math> for some <math>n∈N.</math> Cline's formula and Jacobson's lemma for generalized Zhou inverses are established. In particular, the Zhou inverse in a ring is characterized.

Abstract:We define the {i}-inverse (i = 1; 2; 5) and group inverse of tensors based on a general product of tensors. We explore properties of the generalized inverses of tensors on solving tensor equations and computing formulas of block tensors. We use the {1}-inverse of tensors to give the solutions of a multilinear system represented by tensors. The representations for the {1}-inverse and group inverse of some block tensors are established.

Abstract:The dual Drazin inverse is an important dual generalized inverse. In this paper, to extend it we introduce the weak dual Drazin inverse which is unique and exists for any square dual matrix. When the dual Drazin inverse exists, it coincides with the weak dual Drazin inverse. In addition, we introduce the weak dual group inverse and apply it to studying one type restricted dual matrix equation.

Abstract:Representations of {1,2,3}-inverses, {1,2,4}-inverses, and Drazin inverse of a partitioned matrix M = [GRAPHICS] related to the generalized Schur complement are studied. First, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions under which {1,2,3}-inverses, {1,2,4}-inverses, and group inverse of a 2 x 2 block matrix can be represented in the Banachiewicz-Schur forms. Some results from the paper of Cvetkovic-ilic, 2009, are generalized. Also, we expressed the quotient property and the first Sylvester identity in terms of the generalized Schur complement.

Abstract:The concepts of the commutative laws and generalized commutative laws of matrix multiplication on generalized inverse were defined.Using the matrix rank method and SVD,necessary and sufficient conditions about the commutative laws and generalized commutative laws of matrix multiplication on {1}-inverse,{1,2}-inverse,{1,3}-inverse and {1,4}-inverse were established respectively,and these conditions were compared between themselves.

Abstract:The theory of generalized inverses of matrices and operators is closely connected with projections, i.e., idempotent (bounded) linear transformations. We show that a similar situation occurs in any associative ring $\mathcal{R}$ with a unit $1 \neq 0$. We prove that generalized inverses in $\mathcal{R}$ are related to idempotent group endomorphisms $\rho: \mathcal{R} \rightarrow \mathcal{R}$, called projectors. We use these relations to give characterizations and existence conditions for $\{1\}$, $\{2\}$, and $\{1,2\}$ inverses with any given principal/annihilator ideals. As a consequence, we obtain sufficient conditions for any right/left ideal of $\mathcal{R}$ to be a principal or an annihilator ideal of an idempotent element of $\mathcal{R}$. We then study some particular generalized inverses: Drazin and $(b,c)$ inverses, and in rings with involution, $(e,f)$ Moore-Penrose, $e$-core, $f$-dual core, $w$-core, $v$-dual core, right $w$-core, left $v$-dual core, and $(p,q)$ inverses.

Abstract:Let $S$ be a $*$-semigroup and let $a,w,v\in S$. The initial goal of this work is to introduce two new classes of generalized inverses, called the $w$-core inverse and the dual $v$-core inverse in $S$. An element $a\in S$ is $w$-core invertible if there exists some $x\in S$ such that $awx^2=x$, $xawa=a$ and $(awx)^*=awx$. Such an $x$ is called a $w$-core inverse of $a$. It is shown that the core inverse and the pseudo core inverse can be characterized in terms of the $w$-core inverse. Several characterizations of the $w$-core inverse of $a$ are derived, and the expression is given by the inverse of $w$ along $a$ and $\{1,3\}$-inverses of $a$ in $S$. Also, the connections between the $w$-core inverse and other generalized inverses are given. In particular, when $S$ is a $*$-ring, the existence criterion for the $w$-core inverse is given by units. The dual $v$-core inverse of $a$ is defined by the existence of $y\in S$ satisfying $y^2va=y$, $avay=a$ and $(yva)^*=yva$. Dual results for the dual $v$-core inverse also hold.

Abstract:The ‘constrained inverse’ was introduced by Bott and Duffin in 1953. Since then various generalizations have arisen. In this paper, we propose a generalization of the Bott–Duffin inverse. Applications of the projection methods for solving sparse linear systems, the truncated methods for solving least squares problems, and solvers for generalized saddle point problems are also presented. The relationships with other generalized Bott–Duffin inverses are explored. The results indicate that the generalized Bott–Duffin inverse may be a useful tool in matrix computations. Abstract:We present new properties of generalized core-EP inverse in a Banach *-algebra. We characterize this new generalized inverse by using involved annihilators. The generalized core-EP inverse for products is obtained. The core-EP orders for Banach *-algebra elements are thereby investigated. As applications, new properties of the core-EP inverse for block complex matrices are given.

Abstract:This paper introduces new classes of generalized inverses for square matrices named GD1, and the dual, called 1GD inverse. In addition, we discuss a few characterizations and representations of these inverses. The explicit expressions of these inverses have been established via core-nilpotent decomposition. Further, we introduce a binary relation for GD1 inverse and 1GD inverse, along with a few derived properties.

Abstract:The convergence of the Neumann-type series to {1,2}-inverses has been shown by K. Tanabe [Linear Algebra Appl. 10 (1975) 163]. In this paper, these results indicating conditions characterizing the convergence of this series to different generalized inverses are extended. In addition, these results for obtaining different generalized inverses from the hyperpower method are applied. Finally, generalized involutory matrices are introduced and characterized using the obtained results.
