Abstract:Two kinds of chiral bis(oxazoline), tridentate bis(oxazolinylpyridine) (1) and bidentate bis(oxazoline) (2) were synthesized from amino alcohols via acylation, chloration and cyclyzation. Different synthetic methods have been tested. Some related intermediates have been characterized. Ring opening compounds of bis(oxazoline) on silica have been observed. 

Abstract:Here, we report a chiral copper(II)-bisoxazoline-catalyzed enantioselective ring opening of cyclic diaryliodonium salts with heteroaryl thiols. The readily available 2-mercaptoben-zoxazole and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole derivatives reacted efficiently with cyclic diaryliodonium salts and afforded various axially chiral biaryls bearing iodine and sulfur functional groups in excellent yields and enantioselectivities. The products were further transformed into diverse enantiopure alkyl biaryl sulfides, which can be employed as chiral ligands.

Abstract:We report here a Cu-catalyzed enantioselective acyloxylation of cyclic diaryliodonium salts. With readily available cyclic diaryliodonium salts and ubiquitous aliphatic or (hetero)aromatic carboxylic acids as the starting materials, various axially chiral acyloxylated 2-iodobiaryls were prepared in excellent yield and with excellent enantioselectivity (mostly 99% yield and 99% ee). Density functional theory calculations were conducted to reveal the stereo- and regioselectivities. This simple reaction protocol can be employed for the late-stage modification of some drug molecules. Finally, by diversity-oriented transformations, these acyloxylated 2-iodobiaryl products can be easily transformed into diverse valuable functionalized biaryls that could be used as chiral ligands or functional materials.

Abstract:A direct, efficient, and practical protocol to install a chiral oxazoline unit onto aryl/heteroaryl rings via palladium-catalyzed C-H functionalization of 2-positions of oxazolines with a variety of halides using dppe as the ligand has been developed. Various chiral oxazoline ligands could be synthesized, even in a 10-g scale process. This protocol is a good supplement to traditional methods and for diverse synthesis of chiral oxazoline ligands.

Abstract:Methyl 3-deoxy-3-(diphenylphosphino)-4,6-O-benzylidene-α-D-altropyranoside (1) and methyl 2-deoxy-2-(diphenylphosphino)-4,6-O-benzylidene-α-D-altropyranoside (2) were prepared from methyl 2,3-anhydro-4,6-O-benzylidene-O-D-mannopyranoside and methyl 2,3-anhydro-4,6-O-benzyl-idene-α-D-allopyranoside,respectively,via regioselective and stcreospecific ring-opening reactions in high yields.Compounds 1 and 2 were oxidized to give the corresponding phosphine oxides (3 and 4).

Abstract:A new practical method for the synthesis of a non-cross-linked polystyrene supported 2-phenylimino-2-oxazolidine chiral auxiliary is reported. This method started from the same material as in a previous synthesis, N-Boc-L-tyrosine ethyl ester, but the overall yield was 42.5%, which was higher than the copolymerisation method.

Abstract:The synthetic method-for 2-(2-bromophenyl)oxazoline was modified, The condensation reaction of N-(beta-hydroxyethyl)-o-bromobenzamide to corresponding oxaozoline is performed by using SOCl2,; not NaH reagent, with a elevated yield of up to 84%, The experimental results show that the reaction temperature has a great influence on the, oxazoline yield, The oxazoline yield drop obviously with,the rising of the reaction temperature and at room temperature hardly any oxazoline product formed, Based on the results obtained, it is presumed that ehe oxazoline ring was formed via an imide tautermer intermediate.

Abstract:Novel chiral bis(oxazoline) ligands bearing dibenzo[a,c]cycloheptadiene and a dihydroxy group have been synthesized and their application in the catalytic asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes investigated. By these methods, seven trisubstituted oxazoles and twelve disubstituted oxazoles of the title compounds were prepared.

Abstract:A novel chiral diallylic diamine has been synthesized through double addition of allyl zinc bromide to chiral imines in this contribution. Firstly, (S)-N-Boc-2-amino-3-phenylpropanaI was prepared through N-Boc protection and Dess-Martin oxidation. Then, it was condensed with (S)-valine methyl ester to form a chiral imine, which was reacted with allyl zinc bromide in the presence of CeC1(3)center dot 7H(2)O to afford the corresponding chiral homoallylic amine with high optical activity. After removing Boc group, the newly formed chiral homoallylic amine was condensed with 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde to provide a novel chiral imine with high optical purity. The following asymmetric addition of allyl zinc bromide to the novel chiral imine provided the target compound. The structure and the purity of desired compound and the key intermediates were demonstrated by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and MS spectra.

Abstract:We report herein the Pd-catalyzed oxazoline-directed C–H olefination of the <i>N</i>-arylindole skeleton, affording two diastereomers of axially chiral olefin–oxazoline ligands in a one-step procedure. Abstract:We synthesized optically active 2-( 8'-diphenylphosphino-1'-naphthyl)oxazoline ligands by palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions of (trimethylsilyl) diphenylphosphine with 2-(8'-bromo-1'-naphthyl) oxazolines, which, in turn, were prepared from 8-bromo-1-naphthoyl chloride by the reaction with natural optical active amino alcohols. Pd-Catalyzed allylic alkylation reaction induced by these chiral ligands gave the allylic substituted products in high yields and moderate ee values.

Abstract:A series of chiral C-2-symmetric bis(oxazoline) ligands containing semicrown ether unit were synthesized. The copper complexes prepared in situ from copper(I)-triflate, and the new chiral oxazoline ligands were assessed as chiral catalysts in the enantioselective cyclopropanation of styrene with diazoacetates. Enantioselectivities up to 84% and up to 65%, respectively, for trans- and cis-2-phenylcyclopropanecarboxylate were observed.

Abstract:We report herein a point-to-axial chirality transfer reaction of optical dihydrophenanthrene-9,10-diols for the synthesis of axially chiral diketones. Two sets of conditions, namely a basic tBuOK/air atmosphere and an acidic NaClO/n-Bu4NHSO4, were developed to oxidatively cleave the C-C bond, resulting in the formation of axially chiral biaryl diketones. Finally, brief synthetic applications of the obtained chiral aryl diketones were demonstrated.

Abstract:A novel type of highly efficient chiral C2-symmetric bipyridine-N,N'-dioxides ligands prepared from L-octahydroindole-2-carboxylic acid and successfully applied in the synthesis of optically pure 1,2,3-trisubstituted cyclopropanes employing sulfoxonium ylides with α,β-unsaturated 2-acyl imidazoles has been developed, affording the corresponding adducts in 88-98% yields with up to 99% enantioselectivity and >20:1 dr under mild conditions with broad scope. In addition, a scale-up experiment and the synthetic transformations of the cycloadducts further highlighted the synthetic utility.
