Abstract:The performance of routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc network (MANET) always attracts many attentions. As many previous works have shown, routing performance is greatly dependent to the availability and stability of wireless links. Although there are some studies reported to evaluate the performance of routing protocols in MANET, little work is done for the system overall performance, which is generally referred to as the network throughput and the end-to-end delay. This paper evaluates the routing strategies of the three routing protocols (AODV, OLSR and SRMP) and compares their performance under two different mobility models. We study those protocols under varying metrics such as node mobility and network size. Our objective is to provide a qualitative assessment of overall performance of the routing strategies in different mobility model. The results illustrate that the routing strategies behind the three protocols affect their performance deeply. Meanwhile, different from previous results in the literature, the result shows that it is the combination of routing strategies behind the routing protocols to determine the performance in given scenarios.

Abstract:MPLS and mobile IP have developed to a high level in recent years.MPLS can unify different data link layer techniques and different third layer protocols to a same platform.Mobile IP can support access to Internet when motion and mobile computing.The combination of the MPLS and mobile IP technology can improve exchange transmission rate,support mobile access to Internet,enhance the ability of supporting QoS,and improve the security of network.In this paper,the fundamental of MPLS and mobile IP is introduced respectively,and then the scheme about mobile IP based on MPLS is proposed.Finally the advantage of mobile IP based on MPLS is summarized.

Abstract:Mobile IP(MIP) based on IP layer offers a global mobility solution to support wireless Internet traffic.In this paper,to eliminate the triangle routing problem and minimize handoff latency,the route optimization extensions for Mobile IP(ROMIP) is complemented and the backward smooth handoff mechanism is utilized in Network Simulator(NS-2,Version: 2).Binding cache management messages(Binding Warning,BW;Binding Update,BU;Binding Request,BR;Binding Acknowledgement,BA,etc.) are introduced into the original NS-2 framework.Moreover,backward smooth handoff mechanism is used to minimize the handoff latency.The simulation results show that,compared with the standard Mobile IP protocol in ROMIP,the achieved bandwidth increases evidently while the end-to-end packet delay remains low.Owing to the implementation of smooth handoff,handoff latency is cut down more than 50%.Moreover,this method keeps transparent for hardware and convenient for software.The research provides a valuable and practical implementation method for real-time communication in Mobile IP network.

Abstract:In typical methods for accessing Internet or intranet in mobile wireless environment, users can access to fixed networks without multi-relay based on Broad Band access networks. Especially in some special applications, messages from source users can only arrive at destination terminals by multi-relay among several mobile users because wireless network is infrastructural, which is so called Ad hoc networks. There are many up-to-date research results in table driven routing and on-demand routing for ad hoc mobile networks are proposed in this paper. In the mentioned two kinds of routing protocols, DSR and DSDV, this paper not only introduces the contents of the routing protocol, but also points out their advantages and drawbacks, and evaluates these protocols based on a given set of parameters such as deliverance, end-to-end-delay, meanhop and load. This paper also evaluates some drawbacks of above routing protocols. Finally, the authors suggest the research direction in routing for ad hoc mobile wireless networks in the future

Abstract:This paper discusses the method of mobile multicast based on mobile IP protocol proposed by IETF. At first, the paper analyzes the methods of Remote subscription and Home subscription, points out the latent problem in mobile ip protocol,and gives the methods of mobile multicast and multicast agent to solve mobile multicast problem, then compares delivery cost of multicast and delivery delay of multicast packets as well as disruption of multicast service due to mobility in four kinds of methods of mobile multicast.

Abstract:Peer-to-peer (P2P) based management schemes have been used for mobility management, but there have been no systemic analyses of such schemes. This study analyzes the similarities and differences of P2P network and mobility management systems to show that the value of P2P networks for mobility management is distributed hash table (DHT) based information spreading. A performance analysis model is used to compare the performance, load balancing and scalability of such schemes with the traditional mobile Internet protocol (IP) mechanisms. Simulations of the effects of the system parameters on the system performance show that DHT-based mobility management schemes improve the load balancing and user scalability compared with traditional mechanisms, but have deficiencies in query properties and network scalability. The key to designing such schemes is to reduce the effects of logical inconsistencies and physical topologies on the mobility management.

Abstract:At present,border gateway protocol is a mostly dynamic,distributed and inter-domain routing protocol used in WAN,it has plenty of routing control mechanisms.The inappropriate using of the MED attribute commonly induces to the hot potato routing and the persistent MED oscillation.In this paper,hot potato routing and the persistent MED oscillation are presented and the way of avoiding hot potato routing and the persistent MED oscillation are included and the routing algorithm with the med attribute is introduced and analyzed.In addition,the holistic routing policy of MED is given to Internet and private network.In conclusion,the strategy is validated by using the simulation software.

Abstract:One of the key problems in the mobile communication is the anonymous communication. The mobile userwants to hide his real identifying information to the visiting domain and the public network which he does not trust,and prevent from being tracked and located. In this paper, we have discoursed the anonymous communications in themobile IP, and presented a novel strategy of the dynamic address allocation and the routing with anonymity. The sug-gested method enables any identifying information can be carried over the anonymous and secure connections, andprovide end-to-end security. The implements of the mobile host and the mobile subnet are also presented.

Abstract:This paper focus on the abstract model and complexity analysis of routing in mobile ad hoc system. Based on the Abstract State Machines theory, we provide a formal model ASM PBRAgent for mobile ad hoc system, on which the position based routing runs as a query. In the result, it is shown that the problem of position based routing is PSPACE-complete when the arity of each node's outgoing edges has a fixed upper bound, and the Yao-graph topology is an instance; on the other hand, the problem is EXPSPACE-complete if there is no fixed upper bound on the arity.

Abstract:Mobile IP has been adopted to provide seamless services to mobile nodes. Currently, there are many mobile IP handoff schemes proposed at different layers of the network protocol stack. However, the handoff performance under different mobility patterns in terms of velocity and path has been largely ignored by the current research work. In this paper, we present our study of the mobility pattern's impact on the performance of mobile IP handoff by theoretical analysis as well as NS-2 simulations, where both deterministic and hybrid models for mobility patterns have been adopted. Our results show that the performance of mobile IP handoff schemes is directly impacted by the mobility patterns. Moreover, the cross-layer handoff schemes outperform other mobile IP handoff schemes under different mobility patterns. We conclude that the routing update delay is one of main performance bottlenecks in mobile IP handoff. So we propose a new solution to reduce the routing update delay by considering the behaviors at the lower layers such as the link layer. Furthermore, our study also presents a platform for efficient network design due to the fact that the routing update delay is tightly coupled with the deployment of access points.

Abstract:In IP/MPLS/WDM networks, routing, resource allocation are usually conducted separately in IP/MPLS layer and WDM optical layer, which often suffers from low resource utilization and low survivable performance. In this paper, under the integrated dynamic routing scheme of IP/MPLS/WDM, we compared and analyzed three different routing strategies VFPL, PFVL and MRRF, which differs in whether choose to conduct routing upon the virtual topology first or upon the physical topology first when an LSP connection request arrives. Via simulation, the performance of these integrated routing schemes in terms of blocking probability are presented.

Abstract:With the development of network science,the substitution of IPv6 for IPv4 becomes a trend.IPv6 has more support for mobile IP.However,there is a problem that the firewalls could not deal with the mobile IPv6 datagrarn properly nowadays.Based on the analysis of the communication mechanism of mobile IPv6 and the firewall's datagram-filter property,various kinds of collision between mobile IPv6's communication mechanism and existing firewall diagram-filter rules separately are discussed.Finally,a conclusion of the cause of collision is drawn and is put out the solving.
