Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of "Kechuan Liuwei Mixture" in treating patients with bronchial asthma of cold type in acute attack stage.Methods:One hundred and twenty patients with bronchial asthma of cold type in acute attack stage who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group (60 cases) and the control group (60 cases).All the patients were treated with western medical foundation treatment,meanwhile the patients in the treatment group were orally treated with "Kechuan Liuwei Mixture" and the patients in the control group were orally treated with placebo,with a course of one week.The clinical efficacy and safety were evaluated,the score of asthma control test (ACT) scale and the indexes of pulmonary function including forced vital capacity (FVC),percentage of forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1 ％),peak expiratory flow (PEF),corresponding velocity value in 50％ vital capacity (V50) and in 25％ vital capacity (V25) were compared before and after treatment.Results:After treatment,the clinical total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 91.7％ and 81.7％ respectively and there was statistical difference on the clinical efficacy between the two groups (P ＜ 0.01).After treatment,the scores of cough,expectoration,shortness of breath,dyspnea and wheezing in both groups were markedly decreased (P ＜ 0.01) and the scores of cough,dyspnea and wheezing in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,the ACT score in both groups was significantly increased (P ＜ 0.01),and the score of the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.01).After treatment,the levels of FEV1 ％,V50 and V25 in both groups were obviously increased (P ＜ 0.01),the levels of FVC and PEF in the treatment group were also obviously increased (P ＜ 0.01),and the levels of FVC,FEV1 ％,PEF,V50 and V25 in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05).No serious adverse reactions were observed in both groups in the course of treatment.Conclusion:"Kechuan Liuwei Mixture" combined with conventional western medical therapy shows good clinical efficacy in treating patients with bronchial asthma of cold type in acute attack stage,which can obviously improve the clinical symptoms and lung function with good medication safety.
