Analysis on Clinical Materials from 76 Cases of COPD Treated with Qi-Replenishing, Blood-Activating and Phlegm-Removing Therapy

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect and mechanism of qi-replenishing,blood-activating and phlegm-removing therapy to prevent and treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Method All 76 patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group.The control group(n=30)was treated individually according to GOLD plan and patients' conditions.The treatment group(n=46)was treated with qi-replenishing,blood-activating and phlegm-removing therapy besides the Western medicines as same as the control group.The living quality of COPD patents in two groups was evaluated before and after the treatment,and the serum contents of interleukin-1(IL-1),interleukin-8(IL-8),laminin(LN),hyaluronic acid(HA),procollagen Ⅲ(PⅢP),transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)and basic fibroblast grow factor(b-FGF)were detected.Result After the treatment the living quality of the patients in the treatment group was improved obviously,and the serum contents of TFG-β and b-FGF were decreased.In the control group the serum contents of LN,HA and PⅢP were increased.Conclusion The therapy of qi-replenishing,blood-activating and phlegm-removing can intervene the reconstruction of the air tract in COPD patients,slow the development of air limitation and improve patient's living quality.
