Abstract:We prove a concentration result for blow-up solutions of the coupled Schrödinger equations with non-spherically symmetric initial data in H1(R2). Using the profile decomposition technique and assuming a conjecture of Sirakov is valid, which was proved by Wei and Yao and Ikoma for some cases, we could remove the radial restriction on the initial data and improve the concentration rate from Lü and Liu (2011) [9].

Abstract:We study an integrable two-coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) system by using the method of linear transformation. With the aid of the traveling wave solutions of the classical NLS equation, we can construct forty-eight different types of solutions for the two-coupled NLS system. Finally, we use numerical methods to compute the stability eigenvalue of the steady-state solution.

Abstract:We study blow-up, global existence and ground state solutions for the N-coupled focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations. Firstly, using the Nehari manifold approach and some variational techniques, the existence of ground state solutions to the equations (CNLS) is established. Secondly, under certain conditions, finite time blow-up phenomena of the solutions is derived. Finally, by introducing a refined version of compactness lemma, the L 2 concentration for the blow-up solutions is obtained.

Abstract:This article studies the Schrödinger equation with an inhomogeneous combined term i∂tu−(−Δ)su+λ1|x|−b|u|pu+λ2|u|qu=0, where s∈(12,1),λ1,λ2=±1,0<b 0. We study the limit behaviour of the infinite blow-up solution at the blow-up time. When the parameters p,q,λ1 and λ2 have different values, we obtain the nonexistence of a strong limit for the non-radial solution and the L2 concentration for the radial solution. Interestingly, we find that the mass of the finite time blow-up solutions are concentrated in different ways for different parameters.</b

Abstract:In this paper, we study blow-up solutions of the Cauchy problem to the L2 critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a Stark potential. Using the variational characterization of the ground state for nonlinear Schrödinger equation without any potential, we obtain some concentration properties of blow-up solutions, including that the origin is the blow-up point of the radial blow-up solutions, the phenomenon of L2-concentration and rate of L2-concentration of blow-up solutions.

Abstract:In the first part of this paper, we investigate the sharp threshold of blow-up and global existence for the focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation with combined nonlinearities of mass-critical and mass-subcritical power-type. Especially, we find a sequence of initial data with mass approximating that of the ground state from above, the correspondng solution of which blows up. This result partially gives a positive answer to the open problem left by T.Tao, M. Visan and X. Zhang in \cite{TVZ}. After then, we obtain the lower blow-up rate and concentration rate for the blow-up solutions in the same case. Finally, we consider the mass-critical combined with the mass-supercritical power type case, studying the blow-up criteria, blow-up rate and concentration of the blow-up solutions in this case.

Abstract:This paper studies the dynamical properties of blow-up solutions for nonlinear Schrödinger equation with partial confinement, which may model the Bose-Einstein condensate under a partial trap potential. By using the variational characteristic of the classic nonlinear scalar field equation and the Hamilton conservations, we first get the threshold for global existence and blow-up of the Cauchy problem on mass in two-dimensional space. Then, in terms of the refined compactness Lemma and the variational characteristic of the ground state of nonlinear scalar field equation, we get mass concentration properties of the blow-up solutions as well as limiting profile of the blow-up solutions with small super-critical mass.

Abstract:The Klein-Gordon equation is the equation of motion of a quantum scalar or pseudoscalar field, a field whose quanta are spinless particles. This paper concerns with the Cauchy problem for nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations with a harmonic potential in an n dimensional space. As the basis of this paper, the existence of local solutions of this equation has been proven. By techniques such as the energy equation, differential inequation and integral inequation, the instability and the blow-up point of the solution are obtained and the L2-concentration of the blow-up solution is established.

Abstract:We consider ground states of $L^2$-subcritical nonlinear Schrödinger equation (1.1), which can be described equivalently by minimizers of the following constraint minimization problem $$ e(\rho):=\inf\{E_{\rho}(u):u\in \mathcal{H}(\mathbb{R}^d),\|u\|_2^2=1\}.$$ The energy functional $E_{\rho}(u)$ is defined by $$ E_{\rho}(u):=\frac{1}{2}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}|\nabla u|^2dx +\frac{1}{2}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}V(x)|u|^2dx-\frac{\rho^{p-1}}{p+1}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}|u|^{p+1}dx,$$ where $d\geq1$, $\rho>0$, $p\in\big(1, 1+\frac{4}{d}\big)$ and $0\leq V(x)\to\infty$ as $|x| \to\infty$. We present a detailed analysis on the concentration behavior of ground states as $\rho\to\infty$, which extends the concentration results shown in [22]. Moreover, the uniqueness of nonnegative ground states is also proved when $\rho$ is large enough.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equations in presence of a critical power nonlinearity and a subcritical term ε ^2s(-Δ )^s u+V(x)u=f(u)+u^2^*_s-1 x∈ℝ^N, where s∈ (0,1), 2^*_s=2N/(N-2s), N>2s, (-Δ )^s is the fractional laplacian and f ( u ) is of subcritical nonlinearity, and ε is a positive parameter. Under a local condition imposed on the potential V , we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum. In the proofs we apply variational methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.
