Abstract:This article studies the Schrödinger equation with an inhomogeneous combined term i∂tu−(−Δ)su+λ1|x|−b|u|pu+λ2|u|qu=0, where s∈(12,1),λ1,λ2=±1,0<b 0. We study the limit behaviour of the infinite blow-up solution at the blow-up time. When the parameters p,q,λ1 and λ2 have different values, we obtain the nonexistence of a strong limit for the non-radial solution and the L2 concentration for the radial solution. Interestingly, we find that the mass of the finite time blow-up solutions are concentrated in different ways for different parameters.</b

Abstract:In this article, we conduct a comprehensive investigation into the global existence, blow-up and stability of standing waves for a $ L^{2} $-critical Schrödinger-Choquard equation with harmonic potential. First, by taking advantage of the ground-state solutions and scaling techniques, we obtain some criteria for the global existence and blow-up of the solutions. Second, in terms of the refined compactness argument, scaling techniques and the variational characterization of the ground state solution to the Choquard equation with $ p_{2} = 1+\frac{2+\alpha}{N} $, we explore the limiting dynamics of blow-up solutions to the $ L^{2} $-critical Choquard equation with $ L^{2} $-subcritical perturbation, including the $ L^{2} $-mass concentration and blow-up rate. Finally, the orbital stability of standing waves is investigated in the presence of $ L^{2} $-subcritical perturbation, focusing $ L^{2} $-critical perturbation and defocusing $ L^{2} $-supercritical perturbation by using variational methods. Our results supplement the conclusions of some known works.

Abstract:The authors investigate the influence of a harmonic potential and random perturbations on the nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The local and global well-posedness are proved with values in the space Σ(ℝ n ) = { f ∈ H 1 (ℝ n ), |·| f ∈ L 2 (ℝ n )}. When the nonlinearity is focusing and L 2 -supercritical, the authors give sufficient conditions for the solutions to blow up in finite time for both confining and repulsive potential. Especially for the repulsive case, the solution to the deterministic equation with the initial data satisfying the stochastic blow-up condition will also blow up in finite time. Thus, compared with the deterministic equation for the repulsive case, the blow-up condition is stronger on average, and depends on the regularity of the noise. If ϕ = 0, our results coincide with the ones for the deterministic equation.

Abstract:We consider the long-time dynamics of focusing energy-critical Schrödinger equation perturbed by the $\dot{H}^\frac{1}{2}$-critical nonlinearity and with inverse-square potential(CNLS$_a$) in dimensions $d\in\{3,4,5\}$ \begin{equation}\label{NLS-ab} \begin{cases} i\partial_tu-\mathcal{L}_au=-|u|^{\frac{4}{d-2}}u+|u|^{\frac{4}{d-1}}u, \quad (t,x)\in\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^d,\tag{CNLS$_a$},\\ u(0,x)=u_0(x)\in H^1_a(\mathbb{R}^d), \end{cases} \end{equation} where $\mathcal{L}_a=-\Delta+a|x|^{-2}$ and the energy is below and equal to the threshold $m_a$, which is given by the ground state $W_a$ satisfying $\mathcal{L}_aW_a=|W_a|^{\frac{4}{d-2}}W_a$. When the energy is below the threshold, we utilize the concentration-compactness argument as well as the variatonal analysis to characterize the scattering and blow-up region. When the energy is equal to the threshold, we use the modulation analysis associated to the equation \eqref{NLS-ab} to classify the dynamics of $H_a^1$-solution. In both regimes of scattering results, we do not need the radial assumption in $d=4,5$. Our result generalizes the scattering results of [31-33] and [3] in the setting of standard combined NLS.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the semilinear wave equations with the inverse-square potential. By transferring the original equation to a "fractional dimensional" wave equation and analyzing the properties of its fundamental solution, we establish a long-time existence result, for sufficiently small, spherically symmetric initial data. Together with the previously known blow-up result, we determine the critical exponent which divides the global existence and finite time blow-up. Moreover, the sharp lower bounds of the lifespan are obtained, except for certain borderline case. In addition, our technology allows us to handle an extreme case for the potential, which has hardly been discussed in literature.

Abstract:We consider the focusing NLS with an angular momentum and a harmonic potential, which models Bose-Einstein condensate under a rotating magnetic trap. We give a sharp condition on the global existence and blowup in the mass-critical case. We further consider the stability of such systems via variational method. We determine that at the critical exponent $p=1+4/n$, the mass of $Q$, the ground state for the NLS with zero potential, is the threshold for both finite time blowup and orbital instability. Moreover, we prove a sharp threshold theorem for the rotational NLS with an inhomogeneous nonlinearity. The analysis relies on the existence of ground state as well as a virial identity for the associated kinetic-magnetic operator.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the time-oscillating critical nonlinear Schrodinger equation iu(t) + Delta u + theta(omega t)vertical bar u vertical bar(4/n-2)u = 0 in R-n (n >= 3), where theta is a periodic function. We show that, for a given initial condition u(0) = phi in H-1, the solution u(omega) converges as vertical bar omega vertical bar -> infinity to the solution U of the limiting equation iU(t) + Delta U + I(theta)vertical bar U vertical bar U4/n-2 = 0 with the same initial condition, where I(theta) is the average of theta. We also show that if the solution U is global and has a certain decay property, then u(omega) is also global if vertical bar omega vertical bar is sufficiently large. Abstract:We consider ground states of $L^2$-subcritical nonlinear Schrödinger equation (1.1), which can be described equivalently by minimizers of the following constraint minimization problem $$ e(\rho):=\inf\{E_{\rho}(u):u\in \mathcal{H}(\mathbb{R}^d),\|u\|_2^2=1\}.$$ The energy functional $E_{\rho}(u)$ is defined by $$ E_{\rho}(u):=\frac{1}{2}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}|\nabla u|^2dx +\frac{1}{2}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}V(x)|u|^2dx-\frac{\rho^{p-1}}{p+1}\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}|u|^{p+1}dx,$$ where $d\geq1$, $\rho>0$, $p\in\big(1, 1+\frac{4}{d}\big)$ and $0\leq V(x)\to\infty$ as $|x| \to\infty$. We present a detailed analysis on the concentration behavior of ground states as $\rho\to\infty$, which extends the concentration results shown in [22]. Moreover, the uniqueness of nonnegative ground states is also proved when $\rho$ is large enough.

Under a local condition imposed on the potential V , we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum. In the proofs we apply variational methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.
