Abstract:Let M be a factor von Neumann algebra acting on a complex separable Hilbert space H with dimH2,and Φ be a linear bijective map from M onto itself.We prove that Φ satisfies Φ(A)Φ(B)=Φ(B)Φ(A) whenever AB=BA for all A,B∈M if and only if Φ(A)=λΨ(A) for all A∈M,where λ is a nonzero real number and Ψ is an-atomorphism of M.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that every bijective map preserving Lie products from a factor von Neumann algebra M into another factor von Neumann algebra N is of the form A→ψ(A)+ξ(A), where ψ:M→N is an additive isomorphism or the negative of an additive anti-isomorphism and ξ:M→CI is a map with ξ(AB-BA)=0 for all A,B∈M.

Abstract:Let Alg N and Alg μ be separable non-trivial nest algebras on Hilbert space H, and ∝: AlgN→Alg μ be a unital bijection. It is proved that if ζ≠0,1 and φ satisfies φ([A,B]ζ) = [∝(A), φ(B)]ζ for any A, B∈ AlgNwith AB=0, then φ is either an isomorphism or an anti-isomorphism.

Abstract:We prove that every bijective map that preserves mixed Lie triple products from a factor von Neumann algebra M with dim M > 4 into another factor von Neumann algebra N is of the form A -> epsilon Psi(A), where epsilon is an element of{1, -1}; and Psi : M -> N is a linear *-isomorphism or a conjugate linear *-isomorphism. Also, we give the structure of this map when dim M = 4.

Abstract:In this paper some purely algebraic results are given concerning linear maps on algebras which preserve elements annihilated by a polynomial of degree greater than 1 and with no repeated roots and applied to linear maps on operator algebras such as standard operator algebras, von Neumann algebras and Banach algebras. Several results are obtained that characterize such linear maps in terms of homomorphisms, anti-homomorphisms, or, at least, Jordan homomorphisms.

Abstract:Let A and B be two factor von Neumann algebras with dimensions greater than 1. In this paper, we consider a map Phi from A onto B preserving the *-Lie product, that is, Phi(A* B - B* A) = Phi(A)* Phi(B) - Phi(B)* Phi(A) for all A, B is an element of A. It is proved that a bijective map Phi from A onto B preserves the *-Lie product, if and only if Phi is a linear *-isomorphism or a conjugate linear *-isomorphism. In particular, if the factor von Neumann algebras A and B are B(H) and B(K), then Phi is a unitary isomorphism or a conjugate unitary isomorphism.

Abstract:In this paper, it is shown that every nonlinear bijective map ψ preserving mixed Jordan triple η -products with η≠−1 from a factor von Neumann algebra M with dim M>1 into another factor von Neumann algebra N with dim N>1 is additive. Also, for α∈{−1,1} , we establish that αψ is a linear *-isomorphism, and is a conjugate linear *-isomorphism only when η∈R .

Abstract:In this paper, we give some characterisations of homomorphisms on von Neumann algebras by linear preservers. We prove that a bounded linear surjective map from a von Neumann algebra onto another is zero-product preserving if and only if it is a homomorphism multiplied by an invertible element in the centre of the image algebra. By introducing the notion of tr-rank of the elements in finite von Neumann algebras, we show that a unital linear map from a linear subspace ℳ of a finite von Neumann algebra ℛ into ℛ can be extended to an algebraic homomorphism from the subalgebra generated by ℳ into ℛ; and a unital self-adjoint linear map from a finite von Neumann algebra onto itself is completely tr-rank preserving if and only if it is a spatial *-automorphism.

Abstract:Suppose F is a field of characteristic not 2.Let Mn(F) be the space of all n×n full matrices over F.A matrix A∈Mn(F) is called Ⅰ-idempotent matrix,if there exists λ∈F and an idempotent matrix M∈Mn(F) such that A=λI+M.For a linear map φ:Mn(F)→Mn(F) and an I-idempotent matrix A,if φ(A) is an I-idempotent matrix,then φ preserves I-idempotent matrices.It is shown that if φ preserves I-idempotent matrices,then for every A∈Mn(F),there exists an invertible matrix P∈Mn(F) and λ∈F such that φ(A)=PAP-1+f(A)I,or φ(A)=PAtP-1+f(A)I.

Abstract:Let B(H) be the set of all bounded linear operators on a complex Hilbert space H with dim(H)≥2.It is proved that a linear map φ on B(H) preserves the non-zero projection property of Jordan products of two operators if and only if there is a unitary operator U in B(H) and λ∈{-1,1},such that φ(X)=λUXU*,X∈B(H) or φ(X)=λUXTU*,X∈B(H).At the same time,related results for bounded linear surjective maps preserving non-zero projection property of Jordan product property of operators are also obtained.
