Abstract:This paper is devoted to study the existence of solutions and the monotone method of second-order periodic boundary value problems when the lower and upper solutions $\alpha$ and $\beta$ violate the boundary conditions $ \alpha(0)=\alpha(2\pi)$ and $\beta(0)=\beta(2\pi)$. We present several comparison results. We show that the method of lower and upper solutions coupled with the monotone iterative technique is valid to obtain constuctive proof of existence of solutions.

Abstract:A monotone iterative method is proposed to solve nonlinear discrete boundary value problems with the support of upper and lower solutions. We establish some new existence results. Under some sufficient conditions, we establish maximum principle for linear discrete boundary value problem, which relies on Green's function and its constant sign. We then use it to establish existence of unique solution for the nonlinear discrete boundary value problem $\Delta^2 y(t-1)= f(t, y(t)),~t\in[1, T]$, $y(0)=0,~y(T+1)=0$.

Abstract:In this paper, the existence results of solutions are obtained for the 2mth-order differential equation periodic boundary value problem: (-1)mu(2m)(t)+∑i=1m(-1)m-iaiu(2(m-i))(t)=f(t,u(t)) for all t∈[0,1] with u(i)(0)=u(i)(1), i=0,1,…,2m−1, where f∈C1([0,1]×R1,R1),ai∈R1,i=1,2,…,m. By using the Morse theory, we impose certain conditions on f which are able to guarantee that the problem has at least one nontrivial solution, two nontrivial solutions and infinitely many solutions, separately.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the existence and iterative approximation of solutions for a class of nonlinear fourth-order integro-differential equations (IDEs) with Navier boundary conditions. We first prove the existence and uniqueness of analytical solutions for a linear fourth-order IDE, which has rich applications in engineering and physics, and then we establish a maximum principle for the corresponding operator. Based upon the maximum principle, we develop a monotone iterative technique in the presence of lower and upper solutions to obtain iterative solutions for the nonlocal nonlinear problem under certain conditions. Some examples are presented to illustrate the main results.

Abstract:In this work, making use of the theory of resolvent operators and Banach fixed point theorem, we first discuss the existence and regularity of mild solutions for neutral partial functional integro-differential equations with infinite delay. We assume that the linear part of the considered equation generates a resolvent operator and the nonlinear function satisfies Lipschitz conditions. Then we investigate the asymptotic periodicity of mild solutions under asymptotic periodic assumption on the nonlinear function. The obtained results extend somewhat the related conclusions in literature. In the end, an example is presented to illustrate the obtained results.

Abstract:A class for systems of nonlinear second-order differential equations with periodic impulse action are considered. An urgent problem for this class of differential equations is the problem of the quantitative study (existence) in the case when the phase space of the equation is, in the general case, some Banach space. In this work, sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions for a system with parameters are obtained. The results are obtained by using fixed point theorems for operators on a cone. Our approach is based on Schaefer’s fixed point theorem more precisely. In addition, the existence of positive solutions is also investigated.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with periodic problem of first-order implicit differential equations.By substituting the periodic viscosity upper-lower solutions for the classical periodic upper-lower solutions, the existence of periodic viscosity solutions which are Lipschitz is proved.On one hand,these results improve the corresponding ones in the literature in the way that they weaken the conditions in the literature. The approach here is mainly based on the viscosity solution theory developed in recent decades and the classical upper-lower solutions method.

Abstract:The existence of affine-periodic solutions is studied. These types of solutions may be periodic, harmonic or even quasi-periodic. Mainly, via the topological degree theory, a general existence theorem is proved, which asserts the existence of affine-periodic solutions, extending some classical results. The theorem is applied to establish the Lyapunov function type theorem and the invariant region principle relative to affine-periodic solutions.
