Abstract:Injection molding process has the characters as multivariable,strong coupling,nonlinear,time-variable,etc.The mathematic model for plastic material melting process was established by mechanism analysis,and the parameters of the model were obtained by using recursive least square identification with forgetting factor online.Predictive functional controller was designed based on this mathematic model.Combined with expert control,the advanced process control system was obtained.The application result shows that the designed temperature control of plastic injection molding machine the advanced process control has good control performance and is much easier to operate than the fuzzy controller.

Abstract:The control method for machining non-cylinder pin hole of piston was studied systematically. A new method was presented by embedding giant magnetostrictive material (GMM) into the tool bar proper position. The model is established to characterize the relation between control current of coil and deformation of tool rod. A series of tests on deformation of giant magnetostrictive tool bar were done and the results validated the feasibility of the principle. The methods of measuring magnetostrictive coefficient of rare earth GMM were analyzed. The measuring device with the bias field and prestress was designed. A series of experiments were done to test magnetostrictive coefficient. Experimental results supplied accurate characteristic parameter for designing application device of GMM. The constitution of the developed control system made up of displacement detection and temperature detection for thermal deformation compensation was also introduced. The developed machine tool for boring the non-cylinder pin hole of piston has the micron order accuracy. This control method can be applied to other areas for machining precision or complex parts.

Abstract:Abstract In recent years, with the development of science and technology, computer numerical control machining and mechanical mold manufacturing technology has also had a great development [1] .Higher requirements are put forward for mechanical die, such as structure complexity, profile complexity, material hardness and precision.In the mold manufacturing, the machine mold numerical control machining technology has the extremely important function.This paper analyzes the machining and manufacturing technology of machine mould by computer numerical control and its application in manufacturing.Finally, the development trend of CNC machining technology for mechanical die is analyzed.It is hoped that the research of this paper can promote the application of nc machining technology in die manufacturing industry.

Abstract:The increasing number of hot stamped parts in the automotive industry is challenging different process areas. This paper presents a method how to improve the production rates over the whole life cycle of a hot forming part. In the core element of a hot forming line, the hydraulic press, mainly two processing steps are performed. Forming and quenching of the sheet metal part. In addition to the forming operation, it is inevitable to optimize the quenching condition in the bottom dead centre in order to reach a fully martensitic structure and tight geometrical tolerances of the part. Deviations in the blank thickness, tool wear, polishing of classical tools impair the quenching condition and therefore the part quality over the time. A new press and tool design has been developed to counter this effect by providing homogenous contact pressure over the whole die. Especially with a multi cavity tool, the new method is advantageous. Test series have shown that the new tool and press concept can produce parts with a blank thickness of 1.0 mm within 8.0 s cycle time. The so called PCH flex principle makes it possible to produce such high output rates under reliable conditions.

It finished the blanking, printing, guiding, restriking, pre-bending of parts in the original feed direction and bending, restiking of parts after rotating 90° from the original feed direction. The interfer?ence of moving structures was checked and the die movement was simulated by Pro/E soft?ware combined to pneumatic, point control and infrared detection technology.

Abstract:The pressing technologies and the forming difficulties of the asymmetric U-shaped contactor were analyzed. The strip layout was designed for progressive pressing from piercing to bending. The die structure was designed in three plates mode, guiding with ball cage bush and pillar mechanism. The multiple steps bending stations and sliding inclined wedge mechanism were designed to implement the critical forming function. The volume production proved that this toolset’s structure was robust at high stamping speed and the products meet the high quality criteria. A valuable universal design rule was concluded for similar product’s toolset design.

Abstract:Influenced by scaling?off cutting, to the mass produced rods and steel tube blank, the phenomena of burr and flashing are found. If the parts are processed by manual chamfering and lathe, it is tremendously labor intensive and low efficiency. To solve the problem, an efficient double?headed automatic chamfering machine was designed based on PLC control. The structural components of the chamfering machine were introduced , the gas?liquid control diagram and the electric control schematic figure including the flow chart of software programming were described in detail. The practices have proven productivity and end quality are improved greatly be?cause the chamfering machine can be used to realize double end continuous processing although loading once.

Abstract:Lead time to market, reliability, quality and cost are the four important requirement from user for the designing and manufacturing of progressive die. For many years, sequential design approach has been adopted in die & mold development, which brings about many problems to experience-intensive process in die & mold design. Among all the problems, the worst one is that repeats take place frequently in sequential design approach because of incomprehensive consideration, which consequently gives rise to design repeat and CAD data loss. In order to solve the problems, application of concurrent engineering in die & mold CAD is studied in this paper by taking progressive die as the object. Based on the analysis of the required information, its flow direction and the design procedures in design of progressive die, the framework of progressive die concurrent CAD is established on the platform of a 3-dimension general mechanical CAD system-UGII software in this paper. By the framework,, concurrent CAD of progressive die can be implemented, which can provide an effective method to reduce design repeats.

Abstract:Punches and dies are the real operating components and account for a large portion in the progressive die design procedure. This paper presents a structural design tool for punches and dies for progressive dies of motor core based on functional component. The descriptive model of punch and die component is established which contains three aspect of information, geometry information, assembly-related constraint attribute and hole-related information on plates. Based on the classification and 3D modeling method of punches and dies, the library of components for punches and dies is set up according to the descriptive model. Methods for modeling and data management for components of punches and dies are discussed in detail. The proposed tool for progressive die for motor cores can complete the design of five classes of punches and dies and generate holes on plates automatically. This design tool is constructed on a PC and integrated with a SolidWorks CAD system. The progressive die design for the motor core of house appliance is employed as a practical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the design tool. The results reveal that it can dramatically improve the design quality and can save both time and costs.

Abstract:To produce the metal die of an automobile deck part of high quality at low cost with a short cycle, a new method of manufacturing the die, based on rapid prototyping and rapid tooling, is proposed in this paper. First, the technological process of rapid processing (RP) technology and the large-scale rapid processing and manufacture (RP&M) equipment SSM-1600 that is based on the innovative idea of concurrent processing in a divided field are introduced. The SSM-1600 equipment supplies a gap in the field of making large prototypes. The technology of the unbaked ceramic mold casting process based on RP technology is also introduced. The method of 3D non-linear coupled thermo-mechanical FEM analysis is adopted to analyze the dimensional accuracy of the die of an automobile deck part during the casting solidification process. The simulation result can be used to modify the CAD model to further improve the precision of the die. The system of manufacturing the die of an automobile deck part based on rapid prototyping has gained success by the verification of practical production.

Abstract:The latest achievements achieved in the intelligent deep-drawing process are summarized and the intelligent control architecture for blank holder force control is demonstrated in detail. A concept of virtual processing is also introduced to realize the whole adaptive system because of the relatively slow response of the deep-drawing equipment. A database consisting of several variables of the symmetric circular-cup deep-drawing process is set up under various dimensions of mould and blank, material properties and ambient conditions. Furthermore, an approach to apply it to the VBHF adaptive deep-drawing control process for parts with complex shape is put forward.

Abstract:Hot forming process has been used more and more frequently in the production of body structures of modern ultralight passenger cars for several years. This, unlike the commonly used cold stamping, is a complicated process, combining heat treatment and plastic-forming methods. For this reason, permanent control at each stage is required. This includes, among others, measurement of the blank thickness, monitoring its heating process in the suitable atmosphere in the furnace, control of the forming process itself, measurement of shape-dimensional accuracy as well as mechanical parameters of the finished drawpiece. This paper discusses the method of controlling the values of production parameters during the hot stamping process of a selected drawpiece. For this purpose, digital twins of the production line and the stamping process, made in accordance with the assumptions of Industry 4.0, have been used. Individual components of the production line with sensors for monitoring process parameters have been shown. The system's response to emerging threats has also been described. The correctness of the adopted values is confirmed via tests of mechanical properties and the assessment of the shape-dimensional accuracy of a drawpiece test series.

Abstract:Concurrent CAD application system of progressive die is studied in this paper.By means of system integrated principle,information flow of progressive die design was analyzed at first.The information of progressive die design is classified as the three information groups,which were information group of progressive die scheme design,information group of progressive die structure design and information group of progressive die parts design.According to this theory,the function model of progressive die concurrent design was obtained,and the application framework of progressive die concurrent CAD system was developed.This framework can realize the concurrent execution of progressive die layout design,the main structure design and main parts design,which is progressive die concurrent design.The problem of repeat design in progressive die sequence design is solved.The research method and executive framework can not only be applied to concurrent design of the mold and the die,but also be used as a reference for concurrent engineering of mechanical industry.

Abstract:A digital foundry technology was proposed for automobile hot stamping die casting with a complex cavity structure.Casting simulation technology was used to complete casting process design.3D printing technology was used to manufacture the sand mold and sand core;a die casting blank was obtained by pouring the combined casting mold.3D scanning technology was used to make accuracy test for products obtained in each step.Following the process line,the digital control and regulation in each step of casting process can were achieved,so as to obtain the qualified die casting blank.

Abstract:The intelligent press forming of sheet metal is a completely new and comprehensive technology that combines control science, computer science and metal forming theory. Although the technology had existed for over 10 years, it had mainly focused on the spring-back of V-shaped bending. Not until the early 1990s was some pioneering research conducted on the intellectualized control of cup-deep drawing. After prolonged theoretical and experimental research, the authors have developed an intellectualized control system for the deep drawing processing of an axi-symmetric shell part. By applying this system to a conical part, the authors have analyzed the common general features of an axi-symmetric part on the process of deep drawing and have concluded a completely mechanical model and finally realized the deep drawing intellectualized control of an axi-symmetric shell part.
