Abstract:The rapidly increasing medical data generated from hospital information system (HIS) signifies the era of Big Data in the healthcare domain. These data hold great value to the workflow management, patient care and treatment, scientific research, and education in the healthcare industry. However, the complex, distributed, and highly interdisciplinary nature of medical data has underscored the limitations of traditional data analysis capabilities of data accessing, storage, processing, analyzing, distributing, and sharing. New and efficient technologies are becoming necessary to obtain the wealth of information and knowledge underlying medical Big Data. This chapter discusses medical Big Data analysis in HIS, including an introduction to the fundamental concepts, related platforms and technologies of medical Big Data processing, and advanced Big Data processing technologies.

Abstract:This paper considers the actual needs of the hospital for data storage and the characteristics of the Hadoop framework, builds a clinical data center using Hadoop, Hive and so on which are widely used in modern society. This new clinical data center overcomes the shortcomings of traditional Unix servers, meets the hospital demand for data storage and provides Cloud Computing platform. First, this paper describes the current trends of hospital clinical data center. Then the paper describes the design of clinical data center with EMR and PACS and realizes the storage of structured data and unstructured data.

Abstract:Health management systems (HMS) have turned health management center into a network with huge storage so that health records, from different kinds of systems in hospital, can be shared. Based on this, variety of information about patients from different function modules can be inquired for further research. However, there is a lot of potential information which may be useful but still remain in original data level. In this paper, we focus on how to integrate heterogeneous data, optimize data features, and make further data analysis on HMS, which can be a significant reference for doctors to give proper advices towards different patients. As an assisted diagnostic method, the relationships about some unknown abnormal items with special diseases can be discovered by analyzing the data based on HMS.

Abstract:Grassroots healthcare institutions (GHIs) are the smallest administrative levels of medical institutions, where most patients access health services. The latest report from the National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that 96.04 % of 950,297 medical institutions in China were at the grassroots level in 2012, including county-level hospitals, township central hospitals, community health service centers, and rural clinics. In developing countries, these institutions are facing challenges involving a shortage of funds and talent, inconsistent medical standards, inefficient information sharing, and difficulties in management during the adoption of health information technologies (HIT). Because of the necessity and gravity for GHIs, our aim is to provide hospital information services for GHIs using Cloud computing technologies and service modes. In this medical scenario, the computing resources are pooled by means of a Cloud-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to serve multiple GHIs, with different hospital information systems dynamically assigned and reassigned according to demand. This paper is concerned with establishing a Cloud-based Hospital Information Service Center to provide hospital information software as a service (HI-SaaS) with the aim of providing GHIs with an attractive and high-performance medical information service. Compared with individually establishing all hospital information systems, this approach is more cost-effective and affordable for GHIs and does not compromise HIT performance.

Abstract:The archives management and transmission of medical images which are the key technologies of PACS are studied.Based on the DICOM standard,a three-tier medical image database system is builded.The system realized effective query,on-line display and long-range transmission of medical images with FTP transport protocols.The research work offered a technical support for telemedicine and had certain value on the constructing of modern digital hospital.

Abstract:The idea behind hospital information systems is to make all of a patient's medical reports, lab results, and images electronically available to clinicians, instantaneously, wherever they are, But the higgledy-piggledy evolution of most hospital computer systems makes it hard to integrate all these clinical records. Although several integration standards had been proposed to meet this challenge, none of them is fit for hospitals in China. This paper introduces our work of implementing a three-tiered architecture enterprise viewer in Huzhou Central Hospital to integrate all existing medical information systems using limited resource.

Abstract:The electronic medical record, as one of the core contents of medical information, represents the important development direction of medical information technology in a future period, which relevant technologies have become international research hotspots in recent years. The clinical data center, as the information basis applied by all electronic medical records, is the only way to realize electronic medical records. Therefore, combining with the development phase of our current medical information construction, it discusses the problem "How to construct clinical data center", introduces two main thoughts of constructing clinical data center, and analyzing the respective features and problems that need to be solved. Based on it, combining with project practice, it also makes introduction of an example of constructing clinical data center based on the logic concentrated scheme centralized in index.

Abstract:Big data has long been found its way into clinical practice since the advent of information technology era. Medical records and follow-up data can be more efficiently stored and extracted with information technology. Immediately after admission a patient immediately produces a large amount of data including laboratory findings, medications, fluid balance, progressing notes and imaging findings. Clinicians and clinical investigators should make every effort to make full use of the big data that is being continuously generated by electronic medical record (EMR) system and other healthcare databases. At this stage, more training courses on data management and statistical analysis are required before clinicians and clinical investigators can handle big data and translate them into advances in medical science. China is a large country with a population of 1.3 billion and can contribute greatly to clinical researches by providing reliable and high-quality big data.

Abstract:To introduces the development and implementation of a backup hospital information system in the outpatient clinic for the accident shutdown of the daily information system. This backup hospital information system works based on the terminals in the same local area, and it runs independently under a local network. In case of interruption of information system in the outpatient clinic and emergency department, the backup information system generates a QR code on paper as an alternative data transmission media. This system initially developed a new offline transmission method to ensure the accuracy and integrity of medical data during information system shutdown. The system can support the medical services to be convenient, stable, and continuous in hospital information system failure.

Abstract:This paper analyzed the causes for the inconsistency, incompletion and non-standardization of data in the hospital information system. Based on this, a series of measures were taken including establishment of an information quality monitoring system and a data supervision and veriifcation system so as to improve the data quality from the beginning of data input all the way up to each section of the system operation. Abstract:Medical homogenization in multi-campus hospital plays an essential role in leveraging the advantages of public hospitals, promoting the expansion of high-quality medical resources and balancing regional layout. The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine deeply used digital intelligence technology to build a new integrated mobile health service system consisting of internet hospital and 5G intelligent applications, which empowered medical efficiency in multi-campus hospital. This system broke the limitations of inconsistent medical resources, unbalanced discipline layout, and insufficient information connectivity in the construction of multi-campus hospitals, and achieved remarkable results in practice. It could provide reference for the multi-campus construction of other large public hospitals.
