Abstract:In this paper, we consider the almost periodic dynamics of a multispecies Lotka-Volterra mutualism system with time varying delays on time scales. By establishing some dynamic inequalities on time scales, a permanence result for the model is obtained. Furthermore, by means of the almost periodic functional hull theory on time scales and Lyapunov functional, some criteria are obtained for the existence, uniqueness and global attractivity of almost periodic solutions of the model. Our results complement and extend some scientific work in recent years. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the main results.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the almost periodic dynamics of an impulsive multispecies Lotka–Volterra competition system with time delays on time scales. By establishing some comparison theorems of dynamic equations with impulses and delays on time scales, a permanence result for the model is obtained. Furthermore, based on the permanence result, by studying the Lyapunov stability theory of impulsive dynamic equations on time scales, we establish the existence and uniformly asymptotic stability of a unique positive almost periodic solution of the system. Finally, we give an example to show the feasibility of our main results, and our example also shows that the continuous time system and its corresponding discrete time system have the same dynamics. Our results of this paper are completely new even if for both the case of the time scale and the case of the time scale . Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:Combining the spectral radius of matrix with the generalized Banach fixed point theory and some properties of exponential contraction, we prove periodic solution and almost periodic solution of a neutral delay multispecies logarithmic population model with piecewise constant argument is existent and unique in appropriate conditions. The results have generalized and improved some results of literature on logarithmic population model. Finally, one example is given to illustrate our results.

Abstract:The spatiotemporal patterns of a reaction diffusion mussel-algae system with a delay subject to Neumann boundary conditions is considered. The paper is a continuation of our previous studies on delay-diffusion mussel-algae model. The global existence and positivity of solutions are obtained. The stability of the positive constant steady state and existence of Hopf bifurcation and Turing bifurcation are discussed by analyzing the distribution of eigenvalues. Furthermore, the dynamic classifications near the Turing-Hopf bifurcation point are obtained in the dimensionless parameter space by calculating the normal form on the center manifold, and the spatiotemporal patterns consisting of spatially homogeneous periodic solutions, spatially inhomogeneous steady states, and spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions are identified in this parameter space through some numerical simulations. Both theoretical and numerical results reveal that the Turing-Hopf bifurcation can enrich the diversity of spatial distribution of populations.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the almost periodic solution for a neutral multi-species Logarithmic population model. By employing Banach’s fixed point theorem and using differential inequality technique, we present some sufficient conditions ensuring the existence, uniqueness and globally exponential stability of almost periodic solution for the model. The results obtained extend and improve the earlier publications. Finally, two examples are provided to show the correctness of our analysis.

Abstract:Motivated by applications in population models, we consider S -asymptotically periodic solution of fractional differential equations with periodic environment forces or asymptotically periodic ones. The system is quasi-monotone, and the existence of positive S -asymptotically periodic solution is established by using upper and lower solutions. The sufficient conditions that ensure the uniqueness of positive S -asymptotically periodic solution are also established on the basis of theory of sublinear operator. The applications of the general conclusions to classical population models yield the global convergence of positive S -asymptotically periodic solution in logistic equation with or without weak Allee effect, and the model of two cooperative populations.

Abstract:The Lotka-Volterra model of interacting populations is useful in the design of competitive self-organizing systems and neural networks. This paper investigates the dynamical behavior of periodic Lotka-Volterra systems with general time delays. Some sufficient conditions independent of inputs and delays are obtained for the boundedness of trajectories and the global stability of nonnegative periodic solutions. Bifurcation and periodic solutions to population models with two dependent delays

Abstract:We investigate the scalar autonomous equation with two discrete delays $$ \dot{x}(t)=f(x(t),x(t-r),x(t-\sigma)), $$ where $f:\mathbb{R}^3\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ is a continuously differentiable non-linear function such that $f(0,0,0)=0$. It is shown that if the difference between the delays is constant, then one of the delays becomes a Hopf-bifurcation parameter and, in addition, the absolute stability of the trivial solution can be established. Moreover, the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are determined by using normal form theory. The main results are applied to guarantee the existence of positive periodic solutions to Nicholson's blowflies and Mackey-Glass models, both with a delayed harvesting term. The conclusions are illustrated by numerical simulations.

Abstract:Due to the complex set of abiotic and biotic interaction variables in the ecosystems, the dynamics of animal populations are generally considered to be driven in astate-dependent manner. This paper presents an analysis of a stochastic Nicholson's blowflies model with distributed delay, which consists of the existence and uniqueness of globally positive solution, extinction, existence of positive T-periodic solution and positive recurrence. Our results suggest that a smaller white noise is necessary to cause the existence of positive T-periodic solution and positive recurrence of the stochastic model, while a larger white noise will accelerate the extinction of the population. In addition, numerical simulation is used to support our main results.

Sufficient conditions are obtained for the permanence and global attractivity of the system. Further, by means of an almost periodic functional hull theory, we show that the almost periodic system has a unique strictly positive almost periodic solution, which is globally attractive. Abstract:In this paper, we consider a time periodic non-monotone and nonlocal delayed reaction-diffusion population model with stage structure. We first prove the existence of the asymptotic speed c ∗ c^* of spread by virtue of two auxiliary equations and comparison arguments. By the method of super- and sub-solutions and the fixed point theorem, as applied to the truncated problem on a finite interval, and the limiting arguments, we then establish the existence of time periodic traveling wave solutions of the model system with wave speed c > c ∗ c>c^* . We further use the results of the asymptotic speed of spread to obtain the non-existence of traveling wave solutions for wave speed c > c ∗ c>c^* . Finally, we prove the existence of the critical periodic traveling wave with wave speed c = c ∗ c=c^* . It turns out that the asymptotic speed of spread coincides with the minimal wave speed for positive periodic traveling waves. These results are also applied to the model system with two prototypical birth functions.

Abstract:Research on delayed neural networks with variable self-inhibitions, interconnection weights, and inputs is an important issue. In this paper, we discuss a large class of delayed dynamical systems with almost periodic self-inhibitions, inter-connection weights, and inputs. This model is universal and includes delayed systems with time-varying delays, distributed delays as well as combination of both. We prove that under some mild conditions, the system has a unique almost periodic solution, which is globally exponentially stable. We propose a new approach, which is independent of existing theory concerning with existence of almost periodic solution for dynamical systems.

Abstract:Qualitative property for a class of the delayed Cohen–Grossberg neural network with high-order terms is investigated in the paper. Periodic solution is rigorously proved to be exist in this class of models by means of the Gains and Mawhin’s continuation theorem. In addition, sufficient conditions are established for both global exponential and asymptotical stability of the existent periodic solution with the aid of the Lyapunov functional and the theory of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Finally, two examples with their numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the possible application of our criteria.

Abstract:In the present paper, we investigate both the global exponential stability and the existence of a periodic solution of a general differential equation with unbounded distributed delays. The main stability criterion depends on the dominance of the non-delay terms over the delay terms. The criterion for the existence of a periodic solution is obtained with the application of the coincide degree theorem. We use the main results to get criteria for the existence and global exponential stability of periodic solutions of a generalized higher-order periodic Cohen-Grossberg neural network model with discrete-time varying delays and infinite distributed delays. Additionally, we provide a comparison with the results in the literature and a numerical simulation to illustrate the effectiveness of some of our results.

Abstract:This paper explores general coupled dynamic equations on time scales with multiple delays and investigates the existence of periodic solutions using the coincidence degree theory approach. The model studied includes the mathematical models of Nicholson, Mackey–Glass, and Lasota–Wazewska as special cases. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the solutions are not only asymptotically stable but also exponentially synchronized. The presented results significantly extend and complement existing findings in the field. The paper concludes with illustrative examples that highlight the practical implications of our analytical discoveries.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the asymptotic behavior of the time-dependent solutions to a coupled system of reaction-diffusion equations with periodic coefficients in unbounded domains, including the whole space R-n, the exterior Omega(e) of a bounded domain and the half-space R-+(n) = {x = (x(1), . . . , x(n)) is an element of R-n; x(n) > 0}, under Dirichlet boundary conditions. It is shown that if the reaction function in the system possesses a mixed quasi monotone property and the corresponding periodic system has a pair of coupled upper and lower solutions then the periodic system has a pair of quasi-solutions and the sector between the quasi-solutions is an attractor of the system of periodic reaction-diffusion equations. Under some additional conditions this attractor leads to the asymptotic stability of a periodic solution for the periodic system. The approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions, a ladder argument and a bootstrap technique. Finally, a competitor-competitor-mutualist model is given to illustrate the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a discrete Gilpin–Ayala competition model and a discrete Gilpin–Ayala type multispecies competition–predator model. For general nonautonomous case, sufficient conditions which ensure the permanence and the global stability of the system are obtained; For periodic case, sufficient conditions which ensure the existence of an unique globally stable positive periodic solution of the system are obtained. An example together with its numeric simulations shows the feasibility of the main results.
