Abstract:In this paper, a further investigation for the number of Derangements and Bell numbers is performed, and some new recursion formulae for the number of Derangements and Bell numbers are established by applying the generating function methods and Padé approximation techniques. Illustrative special cases of the main results are also presented.

Abstract:In this paper, we study effective recursion formulae for computing intersection numbers of mixed psi and kappa classes on moduli spaces of curves. By using the celebrated Witten-Kontsevich theorem, we generalize Mulase-Safnuk form of Mirzakhani's recursion and prove a recursion formula of higher Weil-Petersson volumes. We also present recursion formulae to compute intersection pairings in the tautological rings of moduli spaces of curves.

Abstract:The number of conjugate classes of derangements of order n is the same as the number h n of the restricted partitions with every portion greater than 1. It is also equal to the number of isotopy classes of 2 × n Latin rectangles. Sometimes the exact value is necessary, while sometimes we need the approximation value. In this paper, a recursion formula of h n will be obtained and also will some elementary approximation formulae with high accuracy for h n be presented. Although we may obtain the value of h n in some computer algebra system, it is still meaningful to find an efficient way to calculate the approximate value, especially in engineering, since most people are familiar with neither programming nor CAS software. This paper is mainly for the readers who need a simple and practical formula to obtain the approximate value (without writing a program) with more accuracy, such as to compute the value in a pocket science calculator without programming function. Some methods used here can also be applied to find the fitting functions for some types of data obtained in experiments.

Abstract:Let p be any prime and let a and n be positive integers with p∤ n. We show that ∑_k=1^p^a-1B_k/(-n)^k≡ a(-1)^n-1D_n-1p, where B_0,B_1,… are the Bell numbers and D_0,D_1,… are the derangement numbers. This extends a result of Sun and Zagier published in 2011. Furthermore, we prove that (-x)^n∑_k=1^p^a-1B_k(x)/(-n)^k≡ -∑_r=1^ax^p^r∑_k=0^n-1(n-1)!/k!(-x)^kpℤ_p[x], where B_k(x)=∑_l=0^kS(k,l)x^l is the Bell polynomial of degree k with S(k,l) (0≤ l≤ k) the Stirling numbers of the second kind, and ℤ_p is the ring of all p-adic integers.

Abstract:A derangement is a permutation in which no entry is at its original position. The number of derangements of [n] is called the "derangement number" or "de Montmort number", and is denoted by D-n. The sequence {D-n} enumerates, in addition to the number of derangements, many other permutations under various constraints. Two proofs of the main result are proved in this article. Abstract:Recently Alexandersson and Getachew proved some multivariate generalizations of a formula for enumerating signed excedances in derangements. In this paper we first relate their work to a recent continued fraction for permutations and confirm some of their observations. Our second main result is two refinements of their multivariate identities, which clearly explain the meaning of each term in their main formulas. We also explore some similar formulas for permutations of type B.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the generalized Dedekind-Rademacher sums considered by Hall, Wilson and Zagier. We establish a formula for the products of two Bernoulli functions. The proof relies on Parseval's formula, Hurwitz's formula, and Lerch's functional equation. The result leads to reciprocity formulas for some generalizations of the classical Dedekind sums. In particular, it is shown that Carlitz's, Berndt's, Hall and Wilson's reciprocity theorems are deduced as special cases.

Abstract:Newton's second law aids us in predicting the location of a classical object after knowing its initial position and velocity together with the force it experiences at any time, which can be seen as a process of continuous iteration. When it comes to discrete problems, e.g. building Bell inequalities, as a vital tool to study the powerful nonlocal correlations in quantum information processing. Unless having known precisely the general formula of associated inequalities, iterative formulas build a bridge from simple examples to all elements in the set of Bell inequalities. Although exhaust all entities in the set, even in the subset of tight individuals, is a NP hard problem, it is possible to find out the evolution law of Bell inequalities from few-body, limited-setting and low-dimension situations to arbitrary $(n,k,d)$ constructions, i.e. $n$ particles, $k$ measurements per particle, and $d$ outcomes per measurement. In this work, via observing Śliwa's 46 tight (3,2,2) Bell inequalities [{Phys. Lett. A}. 317, 165-168 (2003)], uniting the root method [{Phys. Rev. A}. 79, 012115, (2009)] and the idea of degeneration, we discover an iterative formula of Bell inequalities containing all $(n,k,2)$ circumstances, which paves a potential way to study the current Bell inequalities in terms of iterative relations combining root method on the one hand, and explore more interesting inequalities on the other.
