Abstract:Vehicle dynamic model is essential for the control and simulation in autonomous driving. Compared to passenger cars that have been widely researched and applied, the modeling and evaluation of semi-trailer container trucks are less researched in the literature, and suffer from larger structure complexity and working condition variation. This paper proposes a 4-DOF and simplified 3-DOF dynamic models for semi-trailer trucks. Motivated by abundant real world data in various working conditions, the dynamic model is developed according to the trade-off between model complexity and accuracy. In low vehicle speed, the discretization error of solving differential equations can not be neglected, the model inference suffers from numerical instability, such as oscillation or divergence, which is a general problem. A stable and continuous model refinement method is proposed to deal with this problem. Evaluation is made for full-size semi-trailer container trucks using the real working data in Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Results show the effectiveness of the proposed model, which can be widely used in the autonomous driving system of semi-trailer trucks.

Abstract:The automatic parking scene of freight trucks is an important part of the “smart port”. The trajectory tracking effect in the automatic parking scene directly determines the success of parking. Therefore, the development of stable and reliable trajectory tracking control algorithms has great practical applications value. This paper aims to develop a reversing trajectory tracking algorithm for semi-trailer trucks that meets the needs of actual engineering applications, so as to achieve the purpose of accurately and stably following the reversing planned trajectory. In this paper, under the input of trajectory planning based on kinematics model, a two-layer path following controller is designed. The first-level controller superimposes the feedforward control based on planning and the feedback control based on the trailer trajectory error to obtain the expected yaw rate of the tractor as the control output. The second-level controller outputs the steering wheel angle command to the EPS angle tracking system to realize the following control of the desired tractor yaw rate. The simulation verification under TruckSim/Simulink shows that the controller designed in this paper has good following performance and stability.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, a kind of underground passage automated freight transport system based on the autonomous dual-mode container truck is proposed, and the overall structure of the automated freight transport system, the allocation of the transportation equipment, the comprehensive design of underground passage, the comprehensive analysis of transportation organization, the reasonable layout of the freight transport terminal, and the design of connection with the overall operation of the port are studied. Taking the connection passage between the central operation area and the eastern operation area of Yantian Port under planning and construction as an example, this paper expounds the application of the underground automatic freight transport system design method in the underground container logistics system within the port area. Based on the current situation and the long-term planning requirements of Yantian Port, the overall route of the connection passage between the central operation area and the eastern operation area is studied; the dual mode transportation organization model based on the combination of autonomous driving and manned driving is designed, and the manned driving mode shall be adopted within the operation area. In the connecting tunnel, there is the interference-free, fully-enclosed, line-fixed, and no man’s land application scenario, and the autonomous driving mode shall be adopted. The corresponding ground switching area is proposed to match the dual-mode transportation system of the autonomous dual-mode truck; such switching area is composed of the mode switching area, truck storage area, and driver rest and management room. Compared with the traditional tunnels, the autonomous freight transport passage has obvious advantages in saving project cost and improving transport efficiency.

Abstract:In view of the existing problems of bulk grain unloading equipment at the port terminal,focusing in most equip-ment used by intermittent type,low efficiency,high energy consumption,low flexibility,high cost of imported equipment, shortage of spare parts and largeinvestment.In this paper,a new type of high efficiency grain unloading equipment system has been developed.Based on modular design concept integrated with the spiral feeding,bucket lifting,horizontal transportation, slewing and remote automatic control technology,through theoretical calculation and analysis method,we have designed the key components of the new equipment,including pitching mechanism,lifting mechanism,horizontal conveying mechanism,sle-wing mechanism,walking mechanism to determine the structure size,power calculation,motor and bearing selection and design work.This paper will further promote the application and extension of the new loose grain ship unloading equipment system, improve the efficiency of bulk grain unloading ships at port terminal,and meet the development requirements of the national grain logistics system.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the safety of railway vehicles. A new semi-active control strategy is proposed based on the skyhook control theory. In view of the main railway vehicle safety performance indicators, the new control strategy aims at reducing the derailment coefficient of railway vehicles by restraining the lateral vibrations of the bogie and the wheelset. Furthermore, to evaluate the improvement of the safety performance brought about by the new control strategy, a complete railway vehicle model is established using the ADAMS/Rail software package. In further co-simulations, five conventional control methods are compared with the proposed approach under the same conditions. Co-simulation results indicate that the new control strategy is effective in improving the safety performance of railway vehicles.

Abstract:In this study, we investigate the automatic docking of an electric tractor with a semi-trailer in narrow and long-distance scenarios. We propose an automatic docking method based on a multi-sensor fusion high-precision positioning algorithm and a multi-strategy docking control algorithm. To solve the heading-angle error of the involved camera due to mechanical errors, a compensation value in the form of angle deviation is introduced. To alleviate the increase in the camera detection error with longitudinal distance, a piecewise coordinate compensation function is proposed. Repositioning is performed using light detection and ranging (Lidar) to improve the pose-perception accuracy to the millimeter level. To avoid the interference of point clouds on the relocation accuracy of Lidar, a search-and-location method that combines both small and large neighborhoods is proposed. To achieve the desired docking success rate, a multi-strategy-adjustment control algorithm is used to enable comprehensive adjustment, including approximate control of the maximum angle based on lateral deviation and fine proportional-integral-differential (PID) control based on lateral deviation and longitudinal distance, security check cycle and premature warning mechanism, and risk avoidance control. Finally, the reliability and stability of the design scheme are verified by conducting multiple experiments involving actual vehicles.

Abstract:The study proposes an active trailer steering control method for tractor semitrailers to promote the path tracking effect of the trailer portion as well as lateral stability during lane changing. Firstly, a simplified model of a tractor semitrailer is constructed, and the MAP map is formed based on the genetic algorithm for the identification of the key parameters, which improves the model's accuracy. Then the tractor and trailer's yaw rate and sideslip angle at CG are tracked as the control objective and the trailer angle distribution strategy is given. Then the LQR-based corner controller is designed to control the steering actuators of each axle of the trailer. Finally, the effectiveness of the designed control strategy is verified based on the Trucksim/Simulink joint simulation platform and the semi-physical HiL test platform. The simulation results show that the designed controller can effectively improve the path tracking effect of the tractor and the trailer, and at the same time, the lateral stability parameters of the tractor and the trailer are also significantly improved, which improves the driving stability of the tractor semitrailer.

Abstract:When working in harsh conditions, the dump truck brakes frequently. And the braking energy consumption of it accounts for a large proportion of the total energy consumption. Due to the wide range fluctuation and high frequency of the instantaneous wide range fluctuation on DC bus voltage, the efficient and stable control on braking energy recovery and utilization system is a key challenge that needs to be solved urgently. This paper proposes a self-adaption two-degree-of-freedom PID control strategy, which implements high efficient and stable control of the charging and discharging process of the system. Meanwhile, the response speed of charging and discharging current are accelerated and the interference resistant capacity is also improved in the charging and discharging process. The experimental platform of braking energy recovery and utilization system of the dump truck with 300kW/1800V supercapacitor and battery mixed energy storage was built. And the establishment of prototype had been completed. Finally, vehicle operation Experiment was conducted on the 730E tramcar in Ping Shuo An-Jialing coal mine. The experimental results were tested by a third party, and the efficiency of the braking energy recovery and utilization system reached 53.5%. The experimental result verified the efficiency, feasibility and stability of the charging and discharging control strategy.

Abstract:Due to the boom in world trade with leaps and bounds, port authorities are looking into ways of making facilities more efficient-To build Shanghai as the international shipping center, it is the strategic step to found Shanghai as the international container hub port. To cope with this dynamic challenge, the Shanghai port must improve the competitive ability. Now the existing piling capability of the container yard is not satisfied the requirement. The most advanced automated container terminals based on the use of AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles). But it doesn't accord with the port environment of Shanghai. New massive container ships and scarcity of the yard land put an enormous pressure on port authorities to find and deploy effective container handling systems in order to increase the throughput of the current container terminals. So the automatic and unmanned empty container yard (AUECY)is proposed in the paper,which is constructed and located. in Shanghai Port Container Co.,Ltd. Waigaoqiao Terminal Branch. In AUECY, the automated handling system in relay is adopted, which is the new process procedure and uses two new types of RMG. Also a simulation model is developed and used to simulate this new AUECY and evaluate its performance. The simulation results show that AUECY can be effectively adopted in combination with the optimized loading, unloading fist and lower waiting time. Moreover, the simulation shows that AUECY can reduce the number of crane conflicts on the yard and the average length of the truck queues in the terminal. Therefore the new process procedure of the AUECY and As simulation results help to improve the efficiency, and the capacity of container yard, and meet the future demand of the container terminal of Shanghai international shipping center.

Abstract:The utility model discloses a novel garbage truck and belongs to daily garbage processing equipment. The novel garbage truck comprises a four-wheel electric truck body. A warehouse shed type compartment is arranged behind the truck body. A water tank, a luggage rack, a rain cover, a storage battery, an inverter, a camera, a garbage processor, a garbage compressor, a garbage sorting platform and a garbage sorting barrel are disposed in the novel garbage truck, wherein the luggage rack, the rain cover and the camera are mounted on the top of the compartment; the storage battery, the inverter and the garbage sorting barrel are mounted on the front lower part of the compartment; and the water tank is arranged on the front upper part of the compartment. The novel garbage truck is advantaged by equipment completeness, various functions, low cost and flexibility; the novel garbage truck can be used in clear and rainy days; work environment can be improved; garbage classification grade can be increased as high as 12; 95% garbage can be reduced, sides of the garbage can be compressed by four times; with sealed conveying, leakage and odor can be avoided, thereby providing favorable conditions for follow-up garbage resource classification and utilization; and by the use of the novel garbage truck, practical difficulties like garbage classification, garbage reduction, garbage conveying and garbage resource utilization can be solved.

Abstract:In order to solve a series of problems such as heavy labor intensity and low system mode security and stability,the first full-automatic grab ship-unloading solution in the world was innovated.Solutions including the operation principle,the procedure and a few strategies for process optimization were detailed.Meanwhile,a comprehensive analysis compared with traditional processes was presented.After light and heavy load tests for several months,a full-automatic grab unloader was put into practice in Shanghai Luojing Ore Terminal.Evaluation results prove that the system promotes the efficiency evidently,alleviates the labor intensity dramatically,and makes a powerful guarantee for the operating reliability and the security.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of overloading and inconvenient weighing of semi-trailer, this paper designed a semi-trailer on-board weighing system based on the strain measurement of the frame, and built the weighing prediction model of the system. The three-dimensional model of the semi-trailer frame was established, and the strain sensitive area of the frame was determined by using the finite element analysis method, and the suitable position was selected as the strain sensitive point. According to the load distribution of the semi-trailer frame, the strain and load of the traction pin and suspension components are fitted respectively, and the weighing prediction model of the system is established. Finally, by comparing the test load with the predicted load, it is found that the error of the predicted load is less than 1%, and the accuracy of the model meets the engineering requirements.

Abstract:The flexible parts of the dump truck such as the suspension, tires and cargo box can affect the roll stability of the vehicle during the lifting process. In order to improve the adverse effects of these flexible parts on the roll stability of the dump truck during lifting, and to prevent the vehicle from rolling over, this paper proposes an anti-rollover warning control method based on active suspension. The nonlinear model of the lift and roll of the dump truck is established by considering the influence of elastic deformation of the tire, suspension, and torsional deformation of the cargo box on the roll of the vehicle, and dynamic characteristics of the nonlinear model are verified in the MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment. A fuzzy-PID controller is designed to make decisions on the active suspension control force as well as the ratio of the vertical load of the non-bearing wheel to the total weight of the vehicle is used as the rollover evaluation index to realize the rollover warning. Furthermore, the improvement effect of the control system is analyzed from the aspects of rollover evaluation index, roll angle and critical lifting angle. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed method effectively improves the roll stability of the dump truck during the lifting operation and can widen the threshold range of the critical lift angle to a certain extent and prevent the vehicle from rolling over.

Abstract:Structure design for mechanical-hydraulic full-wheel steering device for multi-axle heavy-duty full trailer has been carried out,the kinematic relation formulas of the steering mechanism has been analizyed.Optimal model of the objective function of weighted sum was proposed for turning radius difference and wheel angle difference of the steering mechanism.The optimization solution of the complex method is applied to the optimal model for 5 axis full trailer steering mechanism,the results showed that the vehicle steering performance can be effectively improved.
