Abstract:We can't deny the fact that banks play a key role in our society, while it is impossible to avoid banking crisis even under the strictest supervision. The current legal system in China for banking crisis management is imperfect. It lacks both sufficient means to resort to, and enough protection for individual depositors in case of a crisis. The main practices in foreign developed countries are the lender of last resort (LOLR), the deposit insurance system and Market-withdrawal system. LOLR aims to save the banks which run into payment crisis temporarily. Usually this operation is performed by a country's central bank. The deposit insurance system is designed to divert the risk. Once a bank crisis occurs, the deposit insurance institution will repay the depositors' deposit in certain proportion. In order to make banks adaptable to market competition, we should enact banks market withdrawal legislation.We need to improve our bank crisis management mechanism in following aspects: (a) improving the restructuring mechanism; (b) constructing the emergency measures; (c) improving the merge and bankruptcy system; (d) reforming the lender of last resort system; and (e) establishing the deposit insurance system as soon as possible. We need to enact detail rules to regulate the take-over system, including the definition, precondition, object, terms, limitation and redress of the take-over action. Apart from take-over system, we should form certain short-term contingency plans. Banks tend to merge to improve their competitiveness and some of them can't avoid bankruptcy in market economy, so we should enact relevant laws and regulations. Since abuses of LOLR system will result in disrupting the market competitive system and lead to moral hazard, it is necessary to formulate strict standards in order to apply LOLR system cautiously. The deposit insurance system, which has proven satisfactory in western developed countries for decades, needs to be established in our country as soon as possible.

Abstract:As the most favorable market in the world in terms of scale and liquidity, the United States fixed-income market attracts foreign investors in pursuit of stable returns. After making a comparison between China and other countries in light of the scale, varieties and features of the investment in America’s fixed-income market, the author focuses on domestic commercial banks’ change in open interest of foreign currency bonds as well as the underlying loss incurred due to the subprime crisis. It is also suggested that commercial banks take more prudent investment measures to cut the investment proportion of risk assets.

Abstract:Chinese banks suffer from serious financial fragility manifested by high proportions of nonperforming loans and low capital-adequacy ratios. A key policy introduced recently by the Chinese government to reduce financial risks is the establishment of four asset management companies (AMCs) for dealing with bad loans. Drawing on the experiences of the Resolution Trust Corporation in the United States and bank restructuring in the Central European transition economies, we argue that the original AMC design will not be successful in resolving the existing nonperforming loans, nor will it prevent the creation of new bad loans. We recommend a modification of the current proposal that redefines the relationships between the parent banks and the AMCs by transferring the deposits of problem enterprises along with their nonperforming loans from parent banks to AMCs.

Abstract:In 2016, for the sake of addressing the high leverage of non-financial enterprises and the persistently high number of non-performing loans in commercial banks, the State Council once again proposed market-oriented debt-to-equity swaps. This round of debt-to-equity swaps exhibits distinct characteristics of marketization and legalization and has played a significant role in improving the financial market environment, reducing corporate debt burdens, and achieving deleveraging goals. However, during the implementation process, there are still many practical problems that prevent the fundamental resolution of difficulties. This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the issues related to market-oriented debt-to-equity swaps and proposes targeted suggestions to establish a more comprehensive institutional framework, aiming for a win-win cooperation among enterprises and banks.
An Analysis of the Developmental Status and Risks of Interbank Business

Abstract:This paper analyses the developmental status and risks of the interbank business of Chinese commercial banks,and especially presents a comparative analysis of the interbank business of the China Minsheng Bank and the Industrial Bank.The results of the paper show that interbank business is conducive to the mutual fund transfer between financial institutions,but its rapid growth has changed the traditional business mode and profit mode of commercial banks;interbank business has the characteristics of high-leverage operation,serious mismatch of term structure,depending on wholesale financing market,etc.,which enhances systemic correlation and inherent vulnerability of financial institutions.Therefore,regulatory authorities should guide the interbank business,build an effective,incentive-compatible and macro-prudential management system,meanwhile accelerate the reform of financial system.

Abstract:The global financial crisis triggered by American subprime mortgage crisis results from the financial systems,led by Wall Street,of Europe and the United States which violate such three principles of financial industry as being rooted in industry and commerce,strict risk management and control,as well as moderate leverage rate.China's financial industry should prevent such five trends as excessive overlapping policies,increasing enterprises' financing cost,too much privileged consciousness,too high income and weak service consciousness.Crisis-prevention should use such four balances as the gross proportion of loan to GDP 1∶1,gross proportion of securities market value to GDP 1∶1,gross proportion of total real estate value to GDP 1∶1,and gross proportion of national sovereign debt plus social security expenditure to GDP 1∶1.Crisis solution should not only depend on self-circulation of financial industry but rely on scientific and technological progress and tangible economy development.

Abstract:Finance is the core competitiveness of the country. Since the reform and opening up, China's financial industry has developed rapidly and made historic achievements, but there are still many contradictions and problems that make it difficult to meet the requirements of high-quality economic development. First, the debt problem: China's enterprises, local governments and household sectors are all facing considerable debt pressure. Some enterprises and local governments have hidden debts, and the debt of the household sector is also increasing. This poses a risk to the stability of the financial system.Second, financial institution risk: Some financial institutions have risks, including credit risk and liquidity risk. Some non-bank financial institutions have relatively low capital adequacy ratios and are potentially at risk of default.Third, financial chaos: some financial chaos problems still exist, such as illegal fund-raising, online financial fraud and so on. These issues challenge the effectiveness of financial regulation and public trust in the financial system.Fourth, structural problems in the financial system: there are some structural problems in China's financial system, such as insufficient interaction between the banking sector and the capital market, and relatively low efficiency of financial resource allocation. These problems constrain the development of the financial system and sustainable economic growth.

Its effect on the home country’s banking industry and the host country’s has attracted many scholars’ attention. However, most of the existing literatures are either qualitative discussions or experience analyses by econometric methods. This article attempts to explore a simple general equilibrium model and numerical simulation to study the problem. On methods, this article is a try for the normative analysis. Abstract:Since the client manager system was put in use in our country from the late 20th century, its unique way of acting as an agent and its role of marketing have benefited many banks in gaining profit and increasing business volume. The status and function of client managers have risen rapidly, thus they have become the most important ones who we must considerably treat with through our human resource management processes. However, problems occurred along with the advantages which this new system has brought to the bank industry, that is, how to effectively inspire and restrict the client manager's behavior toward working and how to prevent moral hazard. This paper aims at discussing the possible countermeasures by using the principal-agent theory and intramural mechanism of commercial banks to analyze this matter.

Abstract:The international financial crisis makes it obvious the new changes in China's macro regulation conditions, i.e., from the deep transformation from economic globalization to economic worldlization, the nature of China's macro regulation has witnessed changes from being native, international, global to be world. With economic globalization, the world economy becomes matured gradually. China's macro regulation is not only subject to the international coordination between the outside economic environment and our macro economic policies but also gradually restrained by the operation law of the world economy as a whole which has become the common nature of macro economic operation of the countries in the world as well as a tough issue for their macro regulation to deal with. As long as we grasp the law can we get rid of the macro regulation difficulties and walk out of the shadow of the global crisis while insisting on socialism with Chinese characteristics. Centering around the world economy, this article discusses the problems and difficulties in China's macro regulation in the process of economic globalization and worldlization, and puts forward policy suggestions on future reforms and the improvement of the regulation.

Both business organizations and corresponding industry structures are affected by the continuous business activities in mergers and acquisitions. The financial practice is the core throughout the whole process, and it could determine the effectiveness of mergers' fulfillment. Increasing number of domestic companies in China had also started to involve in mergers and acquisitions locally and internationally, more importantly, they are no longer in the role of being merged, instead, they are turning into acquirers. Thus, this paper is going to study the financial risk facing by mergers and acquisitions, and further to figure out the corresponding measures in controlling and preventing those risks.
