Combining the method of constructing Green functions with operators defined piecewise, the existence result of positive solutions to a singular second order three-point boundary value problem is established. Abstract:Existence and uniqueness of positive radial solution u(p) of the Navier boundary value problem: {Delta(2)u = u(p) in R-N\(B) over bar, u > 0 in R-N\(B) over bar, u = Delta u = 0 on partial derivative B, where B subset of R-N (N >= 5) is the unit ball and p > N-4/N+4, are obtained. Meanwhile, the asymptotic behavior as p -> infinity of u(p) is studied. We also find the conditions such that u(p) is non-degenerate.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of the uniqueness of singular points of vector fields on Riemannian manifolds. The radii of the uniqueness balls of the singular points of vector fields are estimated under the assumption that the vector fields satisfy the γ-condition, and the results due to Wang and Han in [Criterion α and Newton's method under weak conditions, Chinese J. Abstract:We are interested in the qualitative properties of positive entire solutions $u \in C^4 (\mathbb{R}^n \backslash \{0\})$ of the equation \begin{equation} \label{0.0} \Delta^2 u=u^{\frac{n+4}{n-4}} \;\;\mbox{in $\mathbb{R}^n \backslash \{0\}$ and 0 is a non-removable singularity of $u(x)$}. \end{equation} It is known from [Theorem 4.2] that any positive entire solution $u$ of \eqref{0.0} is radially symmetric with respect to $x=0$, i.e. $u(x)=u(|x|)$, and equation \eqref{0.0} also admits a special positive entire solution $u_s (x)=\Big(\frac{n^2 (n-4)^2}{16} \Big)^{\frac{n-4}{8}} |x|^{-\frac{n-4}{2}}$. We first show that $u-u_s$ changes signs infinitely many times in $(0, \infty)$ for any positive singular entire solution $u \not \equiv u_s$ in $\mathbb{R}^N \backslash \{0\}$ of \eqref{0.0}. Moreover, equation \eqref{0.0} admits a positive entire singular solution $u(x) \; (=u(|x|)$ such that the scalar curvature of the conformal metric with conformal factor $u^{\frac{4}{n-4}}$ is positive and $v(t):=e^{\frac{n-4}{2} t} u(e^t)$ is $2T$-periodic with suitably large $T$. It is still open that $v(t):=e^{\frac{n-4}{2} t} u(e^t)$ is periodic for any positive entire solution $u(x)$ of \eqref{0.0}.

Abstract:In this paper, we solve the Dirichlet problem for Sobolev maps between singular metric spaces that extends the corresponding result of Guo and Wenger [Comm. Anal. Geom. 2020]. The main new ingredient in our proofs is a suitable extension of the theory of trace for metric valued Sobolev maps developed by Korevaar and Schoen [Comm. Anal. Geom. 1993]. We also develop a theory of trace in the borderline case, which investigates a sharp condition to characterize the existence of traces.

Abstract:Motivated by the theory of harmonic maps on Riemannian surfaces, conformal-harmonic maps between two Riemannian manifolds $M$ and $N$ were introduced in search of a natural notion of harmonicity for maps defined on a general even dimensional Riemannian manifold $M$. They are critical points of a conformally invariant energy functional and reassemble the GJMS operators when the target is the set of real or complex numbers. On a four dimensional manifold, conformal-harmonic maps are the conformally invariant counterparts of the intrinsic bi-harmonic maps and a mapping version of the conformally invariant Paneitz operator for functions. In this paper, we consider conformal-harmonic maps from certain locally conformally flat 4-manifolds into spheres. We prove a quantitative uniqueness result for such conformal-harmonic maps as an immediate consequence of convexity for the conformally-invariant energy functional. To this end, we are led to prove a version of second order Hardy inequality on manifolds, which may be of independent interest.

Abstract:We proved two three circles theorems for harmonic functions on manifolds in integral sense. As one application, on manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature, whose tangent cone at infinity is the unique metric cone with unique conic measure, we showed the existence of nonconstant harmonic functions with polynomial growth. This existence result recovered and generalized the former result of Ding, and led to a complete answer of Ni's conjecture. Furthermore in similar context, combining the techniques of estimating the frequency of harmonic functions with polynomial growth, which were developed by Colding and Minicozzi, we confirmed their conjecture about the uniform bound of frequency.

Abstract:We present a new method to determine the optimal regularity of positive solutions u ∈ C 4 (Ω\{0}) ∩ C 0 (Ω̄ ) of the Hénon-Hardy equation, i.e., (0.1) where Ω ⊂ R N ( N ⩾ 4) is a bounded smooth domain with 0 ∈ Ω, α > −4, and p ∈ R. It is clear that 0 is an isolated singular point of solutions of (0.1) and the optimal regularity of u in Ω relies on the parameter α. It is also important to see that the regularity of u at x = 0 determines the regularity of u in Ω. We first establish asymptotic expansions up to arbitrary orders at x = 0 of prescribed positive solutions u ∈ C 4 (Ω\{0}) ∩ C 0 (Ω̄ ) of (0.1). Then we show that the regularity at x = 0 of each positive solution u of (0.1) can be determined by some terms in asymptotic expansions of the related positive radial solution of the equation (0.1) with Ω = B , where B is the unit ball of R N . The main idea works for more general equations with singular weights.

Abstract:When the sectional curvature of the target manifold is negative, we establish a Schwarz lemma for f-harmonic maps, if the dimension of the domain and the target is large, the result improves Theorem 3 in Chen and Zhao (2017) for the case of V=∇f. When the sectional curvature of the target is nonpositive, we obtain a Liouville theorem for the general V-harmonic maps, as a consequence, any V-harmonic function u, satisfying |u(x)|=o(r(x)), on a complete Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Bakry–Emery–Ricci curvature is a constant. We also give some applications on gradient Ricci solitons and gradient solitons with potential which are solutions to Ricci-harmonic flow.
