Abstract:INTRODUCTION Interfaces are often seen in various geotechnical materi-als,such as soil-bedrock interfaces(Yang et al.,2020;Gabet et al.,2006),soil-structure interfaces(Ilori et al.,2017;di Donna et al.,2016),and interfaces between soils with different pro-perties(Zhu et al.,2022).It has been reported that the mechan-ical behavior of the materials is significantly affected by the existing interfaces(Saberi et al.,2018;Frost and Han,1999),among which the interface shear strength is the most important property and draws much attention(Wang et al.,2023;Shen et al.,2019).
