Ice and Snow Memory Media:A Study on the Development of Winter Sports Theme Museums in America

Abstract:It is of great reference value to the protection and development of the Olympic heritage and the development of the ice and snow culture in the post-Winter Olympics era in China to analyze and summarize the experience of the United States using museums to protect and inherit the ice and snow sports culture. This paper studies the development experience and revelation of winter sports museums in the United States by means of literature and field investigation. The findings are as follows:Through the integration of multi-dimensional space and value dimension,American winter sports museum achieves the purpose of protecting snow and ice culture,promoting identity,passing memory and inspiring the future. Its practical experience lies in:using policy tools to establish social coordination mechanism;with the help of the Winter Olympics legacy,Lasting snow and ice culture memory;paying attention to the education function,popularizing the mass ice and snow culture;closing contact with the community to create a social service space;strengthening the support of science and technology to create immersive experience space. We have to construct a protection system of ice and snow culture under the leadership of the government,rely on the resources of the Winter Olympics to help protect and develop the Olympic heritage;carry out snow and ice culture education,strengthen the popularity of snow and ice sports recognition;integrate into society to serve society and meet people’s needs for a better life;attach importance to the power of science and technology to build a smart snow and ice museum.
