Abstract:This study explores the effects of tourists and dust from construction process on atmospheric bacterial aerosols and the potential health effects in Xiamen City. A total of 12 atmospheric microbial aerosol samples were collected from University Road, Xiamen City from October to November, 2015 then detected by using high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. It was found that: 1) The construction of bacterial aerosols in Xiamen City were affected by tourists, and the dominant phyla in the aerosols were Proteobacteria(38.93%), Actinobacteria(24.44%) and Deinococcus-Thermus(11.67%), while the dominant genera were Deinococcus(10.06%), Rubellimicrobium(4.63%) and Sphingomonas(4.38%). Affected by dust from construction process, the dominant phyla in the aerosols were Actinobacteria(33.38%), Proteobacteria(29.72%) and Cyanobacteria(13.36%). The dominant genera were Deinococcus(6.39%), Kocuria(6.33%) and Cyanobacteria(5.69%). 2) Kocuria, Pseudomonas, Micrococcus and Bacillus were detected in all samples, and Legionella, Propionibacterium, Escherichia-Shigella, Microbispora, Treponema and Campylobacter were only detected in dust samples. 3) This study revealed the influence of tourist and dust from construction process on bacteria community structure in atmospheric aerosols and its potential risks on human health of the local population in Xiamen City.
